I grew up watching the 80’s animated series of transformers so when Optimus “died” I cried. Fun fact: they killed him in one of the animated movies and apparently a ton of parents had to carry their kids out crying. He’s an iconic character.
The "Lets Roll" is iconic because its Optimus' catch phrase from the cartoons, Lets Roll and Roll Out. It was always the epic part of this film for me. Knowing Autobots are always generally cars and Decepticons can be anything mostly. Hence why Megatron and Starscream are Jets. I always thought that was cool about Decepticons tbh. So seeing Optimus fly was amazing and as OP he is without flying he was super OP with him with the Rocket Boosters, why it was so easy to take out the pyramid weapon and The Fallen...always liked this one the most but it is cheasy at times. Also, Shia injured his hand in real life so that teleport scene to Egypt was written in for him to get injured so they can film with his real life injury lol
26:58 It took me a while to wrangle my head around the idea too but Transformers (Cybertronians) are “living beings”. Prime described them in the first film as autonomous robotic organisms and they each do have an equivalent to a soul called a spark that is what gives every single individual their personality, memories, dreams, ideas, etc. The films never dive too deep on that aspect outside that they do bleed (energon) and have organs when they go mortal Kombat on them.
I never got why people struggled to understand that they're alive, considering they're introduced as "organisms". Damn near an "it's in the name" situation.
@@CuidightheachODuinn because their viewed as machines. Window watchers don’t usually seem them as being similar to humans in aspects of ways of life it’s just that they have more mobility & versatility but less humanity

23:00 OMG. I thought I was the only one seeing these movies and not understanding anything when the scene went messy and there was a lot of CGI moving parts.
27:00 the transformers, known in universe as cybertronians, are autonomous robot organisms from cybertron , as prime said to Sam in the 1st movie. They are naturally created organisms and therefore are technically just like us, just inhabiting a body of metal instead of flesh. They are not like traditional robots we imagine in our world like ai. Transformers are capable of every emotion and feeling humans are.
It’s not complicated for the pyramids, piling a bunch of rock wide at the bottom pointy at the top is the easiest way to build something tall. They used ramps to lift the rocks up
Contrary to popular belief, Michael Bay is a great filmmaker! He's definitely gets too much hate. Now, it's not to say that his films are for everyone.. But just because he makes films geared towards a certain audience, doesn't mean that he's a bad filmmaker. I really enjoyed his Transformers films, the Bad Boys films, The Rock, Ambulance, etc.
He is a GREAT Action Director. He is One Of The Greatest Action Directors Of All Time with Zack Snyder. But both Michael Bay and Zack Snyder didn't get better with time/age. Now, I prefer others over Michael Bay and Zack Snyder: RIDLEY SCOTT (My Favourite Of All Time), Michael Mann, Antoine Fuqua, David Fincher, Luc Besson, John Woo and John McTiernan

This movie has some amazing action. The forest battle is amazing. Optimus kicked 4 decepticons ass at once and would've won that fight if he wasn't trying to protect sam. He is the strongest transformer. His biggest weakness is always his soul. The fact that he protects the humans is his downfall in most fights he loses
Yay. Glad to be early: have to say watching your reaction to the first Transformers gave me an appreciation for the entertainment value of the film I never had before.
@@kinjapleb4228 it's underrated if anything lmao, it had way less people watching it just because Micheal bay messed up and did shit like always, which lead people to not watch Bumblebee, only the transformers fandom acctually watched it when it came out, bayverse is overrated

Alex I just wanted to tell you that you're an incredible reactor. You're intelligent, empathetic, kind, sensitive and hilarious. Thank you for the content you give us❤
My ranking of the movies would be: 1. Bumblebee: in my opinion it was the most overall well done, great protagonist and better comedy than the Michael Bay verse. I also grew up on the G1 show which came out in 1984, so seeing those designs translated to live action was exciting and nostalgic. 9.5/10 2. Transformers 2007: this was a close one to DOTM, but for me it’s just more nostalgic and it’s simpler, also just easier to shut your brain off and watch, which IMO is the beauty of Bays transformers. I still get chills every time I see the opening scene with Blackout, and I’ve probably seen the movie 20+ times 9/10 3. Dark of the Moon: this one has the best action IMO of them all, with some brutal scenes, and really pushes the limits of technology. I don’t like the design of Wheeljack (Que), and the red energon feels too close to blood, but it is an incredible movie. Probably an 9/10 for me. 4: Age of Extinction: I love the main antagonists, and I actually like most of the designs in this movie, contrary to popular opinions. I like Cade Yeager as a character, and Hound cracks me up every time. The movie has the most action of the series, which is what I love the most, but it does drag on quite a bit, and the inclusion of the explanation of the Romeo and Juliet law is very bad. 7/10 5. Revenge of the Fallen: Okay, love the twist of Optimus dying, the forest fight is my favorite scene in transformers history, and it’s a very good movie IMO- my only criticisms is that 1, I didn’t like the racial stereotypes given to the twins, they’re also very cheesy, and 2, like you said, Alex, it does drag on. Cut out maybe 30-40 minutes of footage, and this could be above AoE for me. It’s definitely underrated in the transformers community. 7.5/10 6. Rise of the Beasts: I liked this one, but it felt too focused on the humans, and the action wasn’t the best. I did like it, but not nearly as much as everything above it. The ending scene carried it. 6/10 7. The Last Knight: I don’t like this movie. They took the best part of transformers (the action), and murdered it. The only thing it did right was show us that Michael Bay needs to direct a medieval action movie. That scene carried it, 4/10- also, for context, I’ve watched through the series in order 10-15 times, but I e only seen TLK and ROTB one time each, because of how unenjoyable they were for me.
Fun fact, that room with all fo the Prime's bodies that was holding the Matrix of Leadership was one of the main locations for the Linkin Park music video for "New Divide", one of my personal favourite songs from this franchise.

"Turn your brain off and enjoy the entertainment." This describes nearly every Michael Bay movie ever. The Rock is the Best Bay. You need to watch that one.
Optimus was not "the Fallen", BTW. Also, just because you don't know how the pyramids were constructed, doesn't mean aliens had anything to do with it. Simple math and construction techniques to level and build large-scale, there's a good PBS (or Discovery, or similar), special on how they were thought to have been constructed...
He didn't say anything about aliens, he asked what we think about it And yes, many questions about the construction of the pyramids have been answered, but many things still remain unanswered Because many of the methods and clues as to how the pyramids were built unfortunately no longer exist or are damaged, which leads to a lot of speculation, it would be really cool to get a complete answer to this at some point, but it will probably take a very long time But I am also 99.99% sure that it has nothing to do with aliens
Below is commonly viewed as a plot-hole : Why didn't Sam just use the tiny sliver to revive Optimus? Because that's not how the Allspark worked. Though it served as a conduit for some kind of extradimensional realm called the Well of All Sparks (as seen in this movie when Sam meets the Primes) it only ignited new sparks, at least according to the "programming" it executed. A spark enters a Transformer's body, granting it life. Like a soul, a spark is generally accepted to contain some part of a Transformer's immaterial being, which persists after death by transcending into the aforementioned realm, taking with it all the emotions, experiences, and knowledge that the Transformer has gained throughout their time online. Hence if the Allspark was ever used on the lifeless body of a Transformer it won't be the "same" being that lived before. However it could repair one that is heavily damaged or re-energise it. That's the only explanation left that makes sense. If this is not the case and the Cube can resurrect a dead bot then why didn't they revive Jazz? What about Megatron? My theory is that Megatron didn't die. He was actually put into stasis lock. Stasis lock is a critical state of being for Transformers. It's a sort of coma that allows a Transformer to stay alive, running at the lowest level of power despite massive energy loss or traumatic damage. It is comparable to the sleep mode of a computer. Stasis lock can come about in a few different ways. The first way is implemented by a Transformer's locking chip after a shock from massive damage. A locking chip is the Transformer component which implements stasis lock, a form of protective shutdown. Without a locking chip, damage a Transformer can normally survive will instead kill them outright. When the Autobot ship called the Ark crashed on Earth all of the occupants on board were put into emergency stasis lock. At various times during the Beast Wars combatants had to be returned to their respective bases due to going into stasis lock after being badly damaged. The second way seems to be a more gradual process and can come about from damage and energy depletion over a longer period of time. A Transformer will be told by its internal computer to go into stasis lock or risk losing its spark. Though Megatron's chest cavity/spark chamber took heavy damage the actual spark, containing his memories and personality, was unharmed. He was put into stasis before he could lose it. All he needed were some repairs and a jolt of energy from the Allspark for resuscitation. One may note that Ratchet argued that the Cube was raw destructive power so Megatron should've died. Perhaps the reason he wasn't ultimately killed is because he didn't actually take on its power to the limits. One shrapnel of the Cube survived. What about Jetfire? Jetfire was in stasis lock so this just goes back to my previous explanation. What about Optimus? Now Optimus was truly dead (confirmed by the Fallen) but the difference is that he was resurrected through the Matrix of Leadership, not the Allspark. The Matrix serves as a means of access to the Well of All Sparks, through which it can either bestow new Transformer life, or provide a Prime the means of consulting with his predecessors, collectively known as "Wisdom of the Ages", for knowledge or aid in moments of need. Sometimes, through the Matrix, a Transformer's immaterial being can be brought back to its old material body.
why didn't he use the sliver? because they didn't even know that it could revive Optimus, they learn that by accident when they revive Jetfire and it could no longer be used, easy answer, people are dumb.
@@nova_zar You're thinking after all the things they've been through seeing machines turning into monsters because of pulses from the Cube they haven't figured it out? Here's a hint though : Why didn't they revive Jazz?
ngl... this dude is literally the only reactor that I can actively sit through and thoroughly enjoy the entire video. Dude makes it so entertaining 💜🔥💜🔥
It would be absolutely horrible if he actually started watching it. "The Walking Dead" is a series that nosedives really early on and considering how long the whole thing ends up being (and even then not telling the entire story) he would end up wasting years uploading that show. Also most of it's episodes are really slow and boring, filled with side plots that lead nowhere. It would get REALLY grating for him too. I know this because I wasted a LOT of time watching the entire thing myself, as it was being released.
@@eliasperez1166 all the clone wars videos have a lot less views than most of his videos, he's averaging 200-300k views per video and he gets half of that on clone wars
*Transformers Prime spoilers* I don't know which hurt more, Optimus' death _here_ or his _near_ death in Transformers Prime; on the one hand, Revenge of the Fallen shows his _actual death,_ but Transformers Prime spends several episodes showing Optimus _barely_ hanging on long enough to pass on the Matrix and ready to embrace death.
The third one is unnecessarily dark. And I fucking love it. Sad that Michael bay got greedy because the third one would’ve been a good ending, even though the original ending got scrapped due to a novel being released which spoiled it. I don’t know how I feel about it, but I see why.
Yeah I agree. 1-3 are great, 2 is good 4-5 feel like extras However bumblebee is what I always wanted in terms of design, beasts kind of fell back a bit though in that regard (wheeljack got ruined) Overall, 6.5 for the franchise as a whole, 7-8 without 4 and 5
Michael Bay's movies have zero sexism or racism. In transformers Megan Fox isn't useless, she has mechanical skills. In Pearl Harbor the female nurse does her job well under enormous pressure. Michael Bay's movies are patriotic. Some people don't like that.

Look up the story of how Peter Cullen came up with the Optimus voice, it’s really wholesome
The films never dive too deep on that aspect outside that they do bleed (energon) and have organs when they go mortal Kombat on them.
lol nice username and pic ya got there
@@ericcrilley8871lol I didn’t even realize his name till you said something
I never got why people struggled to understand that they're alive, considering they're introduced as "organisms". Damn near an "it's in the name" situation.
@@CuidightheachODuinn because their viewed as machines. Window watchers don’t usually seem them as being similar to humans in aspects of ways of life it’s just that they have more mobility & versatility but less humanity
Transformers do in fact have a soul. It is called a Spark. It's like if a human heart, brain and soul were combined into one.
37:55 It's known at "Petra" (meaning Rock, because..... rock) or the "Rose City" (due to the colour of sandstone, which you can't see too well here due to colour grading), though formerly Raqmu to it's original inhabitants the Nabataeans as well as their capital city. Also, it is located in Jordan in case anyone was wondering. And yes, it's fuckin' gorgeous.
I was about to write comment similar to yours and I agree, Petra is phenomenal!!! It's been decades for me but I will always remember what awe I felt when being there.
23:00 OMG. I thought I was the only one seeing these movies and not understanding anything when the scene went messy and there was a lot of CGI moving parts.
Yes Alex, they do have souls. It's a whole thing, man. There's a BIG metaphysical aspect to Transformers.
Alex gives me Deadpool vibes when he whispers 😂😂
27:00 the transformers, known in universe as cybertronians, are autonomous robot organisms from cybertron , as prime said to Sam in the 1st movie. They are naturally created organisms and therefore are technically just like us, just inhabiting a body of metal instead of flesh. They are not like traditional robots we imagine in our world like ai. Transformers are capable of every emotion and feeling humans are.
It’s not complicated for the pyramids, piling a bunch of rock wide at the bottom pointy at the top is the easiest way to build something tall. They used ramps to lift the rocks up
Also building from the inside
This is the movie I fall asleep once the old guy teleports them and not until Megatron shows up so I stir awake. Every. Single. Time.
I’m dying for clone wars but until then time to watch this banger
That first Transformer, the ice cream truck, was infact voiced by the same guy as spongebob
Tom Kenny!!
_Half_ of the ice cream truck. The other half is Reno Wilson.
So is the decepticon Wheelie the little rc car
@@eliteprotojay That's the fella. Also voiced by Tom Kenny.

We was all obsessed with transformers after seeing megan fox on that bike

Good to see Dwight here, one of the coolest characters to ever grace a TV show. You should definately see it, mate.
This movie got a standing ovation in my theater. Which is honestly wild, looking back on it.
Just here to compliment Alex on his gooch😂❤

I think the best movie in a general fandom vision is either 1 or 3, but for me, personally, it's definetely Bumblebee.
Bumblebee is goated unlike.... whatever Micheal bay tryed to do
I just love Optimus' design in Bumblebee so much it makes it my favorite movie😂😂
Bumblebee for me too. It captured the spirit and nostalgia of the original cartoons in a far better way.
@@GaspatimBumblebee is the most bland, safe, generic movie in the series. It's perfectly adequate. But easily the most overrated.
@@kinjapleb4228 it's underrated if anything lmao, it had way less people watching it just because Micheal bay messed up and did shit like always, which lead people to not watch Bumblebee, only the transformers fandom acctually watched it when it came out, bayverse is overrated
That song New Divide by linkin park in this movie my favourite Linkin Park song
Fun Fact, the dog is actually the director Michael Bay's personal dog. He loves having him on a bunch of his movies.
Watch the 80s animated “Transformers: The Movie” for sure.
Edit: you blew my mind with the Dreamworks crescent moon bit. You are so right yet it has never, ever occurred to me before.
There's a reason his movies are called Baygasms. Boom boom.
Alex I just wanted to tell you that you're an incredible reactor. You're intelligent, empathetic, kind, sensitive and hilarious. Thank you for the content you give us❤
My ranking of the movies would be:
1. Bumblebee: in my opinion it was the most overall well done, great protagonist and better comedy than the Michael Bay verse. I also grew up on the G1 show which came out in 1984, so seeing those designs translated to live action was exciting and nostalgic. 9.5/10
2. Transformers 2007: this was a close one to DOTM, but for me it’s just more nostalgic and it’s simpler, also just easier to shut your brain off and watch, which IMO is the beauty of Bays transformers. I still get chills every time I see the opening scene with Blackout, and I’ve probably seen the movie 20+ times 9/10
7/10
6. Rise of the Beasts: I liked this one, but it felt too focused on the humans, and the action wasn’t the best. I did like it, but not nearly as much as everything above it. The ending scene carried it. 6/10
"Pain and Gain" is a classic. Walberg, the Rock, and Anthony Mackie plus it's based on a true story, brilliant!!!
Fun fact, that room with all fo the Prime's bodies that was holding the Matrix of Leadership was one of the main locations for the Linkin Park music video for "New Divide", one of my personal favourite songs from this franchise.

Bad Boys 2 was also Megan Fox’s first film role. She’s one of the dancing chicks at the club and was definitely underage at the time of filming 🤷♂️

And yes, many questions about the construction of the pyramids have been answered, but many things still remain unanswered
Because many of the methods and clues as to how the pyramids were built unfortunately no longer exist or are damaged, which leads to a lot of speculation, it would be really cool to get a complete answer to this at some point, but it will probably take a very long time
But I am also 99.99% sure that it has nothing to do with aliens
@@jackfetter Im no talking about if he asked or not. Im just telling you to chill. You are a bit agressive
Below is commonly viewed as a plot-hole :
Why didn't Sam just use the tiny sliver to revive Optimus?
Sometimes, through the Matrix, a Transformer's immaterial being can be brought back to its old material body.
bro wrote an essay in the youtube comments over transformers 2
I think you're overthinking it, just plot holes, micheal bay just made shit, not a movie
why didn't he use the sliver? because they didn't even know that it could revive Optimus, they learn that by accident when they revive Jetfire and it could no longer be used, easy answer, people are dumb.
Interesting

Hey Alex, I have a suggestion, I think a great show would be the walking dead. Lots of action and stuff, I think you'll like it
It would be absolutely horrible if he actually started watching it.

The third one is unnecessarily dark. And I fucking love it. Sad that Michael bay got greedy because the third one would’ve been a good ending, even though the original ending got scrapped due to a novel being released which spoiled it. I don’t know how I feel about it, but I see why.

Michael Bay's movies have zero sexism or racism. In transformers Megan Fox isn't useless, she has mechanical skills. In Pearl Harbor the female nurse does her job well under enormous pressure. Michael Bay's movies are patriotic. Some people don't like that.
