At this point if he chooses to become Hulk, he has some level of control to aim the rage at the enemy, but there is still always a chance he will loose control. To answer your question about the Hulk, Alex, it depends on why and how he turns. Banner suffers from DID, and the Hulk is literally another personality. If they're working together, typically the Hulk will be easier to aim, but if he comes out by force, say through fear, confusion, or pain, then the Hulk is just gonna lash out. He's like a 9 foot tall wolf. He can run with the pack, but if he feels threatened, he'll tear up anything that could be a potential danger.
i’ll always love the foreshadowing in this movie with everyone tryna lift the hammer just for Vision to be able to do so 😂 the silent shock in that scene is always funny to me
When Tony is fighting the Hulk in the African city, and they destroy that construction building, Tony says very quickly "Jarvis, how quickly can we buy this building?". So "who pays for that? Taxpayers?" Nope. Tony bought it, so it's his dime lol And he sent little rockets from the outside to cause the building to collapse inwards, to minimize fallout into the streets.
Glad you enjoyed it! Age of Ultron is a highly underrated MCU movie. It tends to take multiple viewings for people to really appreciate it. It had a ton of work to do with acknowledging what came before it while still setting up so much of what is to come, more so that any MCU movie. With those challenges alone I think it succeeds.
Your marvel reactions are becoming my favorite things on TH-cam. Enjoy Antman, it's underrated, can't wait for Civil War, Ragnarok, Black Panther, Infinity War and Endgame ofc.
- And don't forget that somewhere in there before Infinity War/Endgame is supposed to be the Black Widow movie, don't want to forget one and get it out of order - speaking of which "Homecoming" and "Far from Home" are also supposed to be in there somewhere before the InfinityWar/Endgame stuff. EDIT :: Not sure where "Antman & Wasp" are supposed to fit in, but I believe it is also before "Infinity War/Endgame" - I think
An episode of Agents of Shield actually sets up the beginning of this movie. In the series, they're the ones who find Loki's sceptor and pass the info to Fury who then passes it on to Avengers. Also, the Helicarrier at the end was ALSO set by Coulson in Agents. It was part of his secret project, Project Theta. And the Sokovia incident and Ultron are even mentioned in the show.
"She's just saying they should die?" She's saying that they'll stay to the bitter end; either they save everyone, or they go down with those that they can't save. Luckily though, they didn't have to consider the latter, thanks to Fury and a little help :P
16:00 Someone in a TH-cam short said it best, Tony learns from his mistakes so that's why you'll always see progression with his character and new things being created by him to try and make things better. 17:29 You're thinking of the common Loon.
I'm glad you enjoyed it because it's such an underrated movie. It does a great job of balancing the action, character development, and setting up things for the future. As for Thanos, don't worry, they'll get around to him.
So many of my favorite clips in this movie. Particularly when Cap literally RIPS A TREE STUMP IN HALF. Obviously not that impressive all told with everyone else’s strengths, but it really put it in human terms. Also, the trailer for this movie was like the best one I’ve ever seen for a movie still. The Pinocchio theme and Ultron rasping at the end, “there are… no stringssss on me.” Was TERRIFYING
Fun fact: Scarlett Johanson wax actually about 6 months pregnant during filming and her belly was digitally removed, which makes her scene with Mark Ruffalo kinda funny
Foreshadowing, huh?? You just wait 🤭 this film reached a new level of appreciation years after it came out! And the Hellicarrier makes sense if you’ve seen Agents of SHIELD. It doesn’t really tie in much for later films, but in the beginning it followed the films.
I forgot about Vision just casually holding Mjolnir. For the first time, my reaction was exactly the same as Alex's. Just mouth wide open in surprise 😂
"she's such a fuckin badass!"...and pregnant. Scarlette bodied this role! ..she was pregnant during the filming of this. This movie is fuckin awesome! Love Wanda! You will too! lol Great reaction, bro!
This is my favorite Avengers movie, granted, I had more fun during the other three, but this was just, so good. The characters EACH had something to do, like you said we delved into them as people, I liked the story telling, you can watch this one without having watched the others and it makes perfect sense, I just love it. Plus from a filmmaking perspective I think this just feels the most like a film. But that's just me. It's seriously under rated.
This is my second favourite MCU film after Infinity War. One of the underrated gems of the MCU imo. Ultron is also definitely top 5 of my favourite villains. I do feel like they could have done so much more with Ultron. The "age" didn't even feel like a week.
34:33 when you’re thinking about the difference between Banner and The Hulk, it’s basically the comic book rendition of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Banner/Jekyll is the Brain and Hulk/Hyde is the Braun, but there are moments of clarity for Hulk/Hyde where it’s not just “kill kill kill” constantly.
So when banner chooses to be the hulk he can direct the hulk's rage to an objective or enemy, when banner changes because of emotions hulk has no motive, like an ADHD wrecking ball only focused on what has his attention smart the moment. Wanda used magic to make hulk specifically target the city at first until iron man showed up and knocked the magic out of him then iron man had the hulk's full attention
Something about iron man. If you look, there are weaknesses he shows in every movie, and the next iterations of his suit make those weaknesses strengths. It's pretty crazy
You're TOTALLY right. A lot was setup in this film. Most importantly you've made it. Everything from here on out starts to tie together and is AMAZING! Prepare to have your mind blown! I can't wait to watch you experience this.
15:54 I love how Iron Man's suits upgrade each film, but it's especially cool how you can acc see that each upgrade seems to fix specific issues he had in the previous films.
You're right Alex this was more of a setup for future MCU movies than a climax like the last one. Still very cool tho and introduced a few new characters like Vision (a.k.a the red guy) and Scarlett Witch and her brother Quicksilver. Sad that Quicksilver died but the way he died saving Hawkeye was awesome.
Hulk in the MCU basically boils down to if he initiates the Hulk, he has somewhat control and people can interact with him. If he is induced, by taking damage where it might kill Banner, then Hulk comes out and just wrecks shop with little control by Banner. When ScarJo pushed him over the edge to become Hulk you saw him kind of look at her like "what are you doing?" We can assume he changed soon after dropping because he came back up fast and smiled at her, so Banner induced that change.
When Iron Man and Hulk are fighting and he crashes Hulk into the unfinished building, Tony actually buys the building before wrecking it. “How fast can we buy this building?”
It’s a worthy successor, in my book. My primary conflict with the continuing narrative is still a couple movies away, I think. Agents of Shield would actually counter much of that criticism, as it happens, but it’s not canon. ‘Nuff said. We’ll get to it when we get to it. I enjoyed this movie, though it was particularly lame of Whedon to include the same “joke” in this and Justice League.
Whedon was brought in JL at the last minute to try to rewrite, refilm, and reedit with what he had been given. It was an impossible task and it's no wonder that movie wasn't good. With that said, I agree using "the same joke" was pretty lame.
For the record Agents of SHIELD episodes had been coming out in and around all these movies and explained some of the things that happen out of the scope of the movies, like for example how Fury somehow got his hands on a helicarrier
When you mentioned that you loved the ultron stuff and mind altering stuff, I highly recommend checking out Altered Carbon. Super good mind game stuff. Also, the movie reactions are great, and I think the marvel stuff is my favorite!
Good question. The answer is this ain't the real Age of Ultron, but for the sake of avoiding spoilers I will stop right there. And this is when a particularly doomed relationship begins, which is pivotal to the plot for that previous phase and the current one.
love this one a lot and have grown up watching it since it came out also i pity Ultron also love the joke hawkeye says about ultron sitting on quick silver near the end and stuff also i believe Ultron truly had feelings for wanda which is shown at the end
IMO, this is the first movie that Marvel should have split into a two-parter. There's just so much information to absorb, and a natural part 1 / part 2 aspect to the story. If they had split it, they could have taken a little longer with some aspects of the story to make it more suspenseful and moody.
Cap could probably lift the hammer in that moment, but he is a hero. He would not shame his friend and comrade so the moment he felt it moves/is light he decided to not lift it.

Your face when the Vision picked up Thor's hammer made the whole reaction worth it. I have been waiting for that moment 😂😂
Someone should do a compilation of reactor facial expressions for that moment.
Love the reactions man, Iron mans bigger suit when he calls in Veronica is actually called the "Hulkbuster" armor
and that bird is a mourning dove lol
And the Hulkbuster is the brainchild of Tony & Banner.
Named Veronica because Bruce's ex gf was Betty Ross. So you get Betty & Veronica a la Riverdale High.
An early Hulkbuster appears in Iron Man 3.
The Mark 38 ‘Igor’ armor was designed for heavy lifting, not combat, so it technically was not a precursor to the Hulkbuster armor.
Alex: "I don't like seeing the Avengers fight each other". Me: looking up the release list for Captain America: Civil War
i’ll always love the foreshadowing in this movie with everyone tryna lift the hammer just for Vision to be able to do so 😂 the silent shock in that scene is always funny to me
When Tony is fighting the Hulk in the African city, and they destroy that construction building, Tony says very quickly "Jarvis, how quickly can we buy this building?".
So "who pays for that? Taxpayers?" Nope. Tony bought it, so it's his dime lol
And he sent little rockets from the outside to cause the building to collapse inwards, to minimize fallout into the streets.
and i love when tony says at the end "like the old man said together" love that line
Thank you so much! 🤣 glad you’re enjoying them!
Antman has many many great lines 😍
- And don't forget that somewhere in there before Infinity War/Endgame is supposed to be the Black Widow movie, don't want to forget one and get it out of order - speaking of which "Homecoming" and "Far from Home" are also supposed to be in there somewhere before the InfinityWar/Endgame stuff.
EDIT :: Not sure where "Antman & Wasp" are supposed to fit in, but I believe it is also before "Infinity War/Endgame" - I think
@@Arthaius is he doing release order not chronological in anthology?
@@alanthompson2753 - Pretty sure he is watching it correctly, in release order.
"She's just saying they should die?"
She's saying that they'll stay to the bitter end; either they save everyone, or they go down with those that they can't save. Luckily though, they didn't have to consider the latter, thanks to Fury and a little help :P

Someone in a TH-cam short said it best, Tony learns from his mistakes so that's why you'll always see progression with his character and new things being created by him to try and make things better.
17:29
You're thinking of the common Loon.
It’s definitely a mourning dove
17:33, the bird that makes that noise is a mourning dove
Foreshadowing, huh?? You just wait 🤭 this film reached a new level of appreciation years after it came out!
And the Hellicarrier makes sense if you’ve seen Agents of SHIELD. It doesn’t really tie in much for later films, but in the beginning it followed the films.
That Hellicarrier really is a massive plot point of season 2 of Agents of Shield indeed. It is really worth the watch.
I think this movie was the most underrated.
The bird you asked about that made that noise is called a Mourning Dove
This introduction to Wanda and Vision was great. Wanda has so much pain
I forgot about Vision just casually holding Mjolnir.
For the first time, my reaction was exactly the same as Alex's. Just mouth wide open in surprise 😂
Always felt like this movie was the fulcrum of the story, it all starts to change right here.
"she's such a fuckin badass!"...and pregnant. Scarlette bodied this role! ..she was pregnant during the filming of this. This movie is fuckin awesome! Love Wanda! You will too! lol Great reaction, bro!
It's an underrated gem of a film.
This movie improved a lot in retrospective after the infinity saga ended.
Ultron said it best: "You know, with the benefit of hindsight..."
Captain America felt that he could lift the hammer. It even moved a bit. He CHOSE to not lift it for Thor's benefit.
No apology necessary. Hawkeye aka Clint Barton, is indeed a Badass.
Great reaction!
Raymond Reddington's voice is totally iconic for James Spader and i love it!
This is my second favourite MCU film after Infinity War. One of the underrated gems of the MCU imo. Ultron is also definitely top 5 of my favourite villains.
I do feel like they could have done so much more with Ultron. The "age" didn't even feel like a week.
Hawkeye is my second favorite comic book hero, and Jeremy Renner did a fantastic job as him. I'm glad you're showing him the love he deserves.
Yeah Hawkeye gets shit on by so many so called Avengers fans but he's the glue that keeps the team together.
Hawkeye gets so much crap but I’ve always loved him.
His show was one of the better MCU shows too.
"The Avengers" was a culmination/climax of the handful of movies that proceded it. "Age of Ultron" is the start/trigger of several future storyline.
"Thor gets bigger every movie"
... you're not wrong.
Hee hee...
That suit's name is 'Hulkbuster'. It's only used when Hulk gets out of control.
Tony is always adapting to overcome issues he faced in the previous conflicts. His tech is better and better because he is learning from his mistakes.
"whats that bird that makes that *whoooooo* sound"
It's OVHOES, owls in laymen's terms
The payoffs for the setups that have been happening are so worth it. The Thanos build up makes so much sense when you get there.
"I don't like seeing The Avengers fight each other." Civil War whistles innocently.
5:10 "beats by headphones"
-Alex Hefner
This is where the fun begins
Something about iron man. If you look, there are weaknesses he shows in every movie, and the next iterations of his suit make those weaknesses strengths. It's pretty crazy
You're TOTALLY right. A lot was setup in this film. Most importantly you've made it. Everything from here on out starts to tie together and is AMAZING! Prepare to have your mind blown! I can't wait to watch you experience this.
It's the Hulk buster suit......and that bird is a wood pidgeon
This movie is not one of the most well liked but it's the most important to the Infinity War and Endgame movies.
@@Biaso1997 I think there are callback to both movies in those. CW means more to IW in my opinion.
@@Biaso1997 welll we could argue without this move and events from the past movies
CW wouldnt happen
15:54 I love how Iron Man's suits upgrade each film, but it's especially cool how you can acc see that each upgrade seems to fix specific issues he had in the previous films.
Strongest Avenger? Wanda, by a country mile.
Power level wise yeah but physical strength wise either Thor or hulk
Duh she’s basically the stones lol
17:29
That's a mourning dove. Got 'em all over the place near Chicago, where I live.
I love Marvel Monday but I NEED these reactions more than once a week :( You have soooooo much more to go
Good things come to those who wait! 🤣❤️
The bird that makes that sound is called a mourning dove.
Every dream is foreshadowing and I love it. So much better once you've seen Infinity War.
The Reaction to Vision being born at 26:02 Ha Ha Ha!!! I did the exact same face when I saw it the first time in the theater!
The look on Alexes face when Viz lifted the hammer🤣❤️
Ultron has father issues, that's why he hates Tony, they make it clear that Ultron is in a sense the child of Tony.
This movie aged really well you'll see as you watch more films
17:25 the bird that makes that noise is a Morning Dove! :)
Good question. The answer is this ain't the real Age of Ultron, but for the sake of avoiding spoilers I will stop right there.
And this is when a particularly doomed relationship begins, which is pivotal to the plot for that previous phase and the current one.
Loving the Marvel Mondays but wishing I'd found this when you were further along so i could binge the reactions
love this one a lot and have grown up watching it since it came out also i pity Ultron also love the joke hawkeye says about ultron sitting on quick silver near the end and stuff also i believe Ultron truly had feelings for wanda which is shown at the end
They fumbled the bag and wasted ultron as a villain
I think the bird you're asking about at 17:32 is a Great Horned Owl. Lots of them around here, hear that hoot many times per night when it's warm out.
This is a good movie that gets way more hate than it deserves.
you know what man, i like it that you're doing this once a week, makes me want to look forward for the next Monday to come.
I’m glad you like the format! I’ve been digging it!
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault i always hated monday, man. but because of your show every mondays and the MCU shows every wednesdays on Disney+, my week is now balanced
Another great reaction. Question...are you going to watch the disney+ series in order with the movies? I would highly recommend it.
also when tony and nick fury talk in the barn on how tony saw his friends die but that that wasn't the worst part love that whole scene
Is it foreshadowing or a fucked up vision? Yes.
It's called a Morning Dove....the "who who whoo" call.
This wasn't a perfect movie, but after the rest of the infinity saga, it fits a bit better.
It's funny... it fit perfect even then, we just didn't know it yet and for some reason haven't learned to trust them enough that this was all crazy foreshadowing and setting up so much stuff.
"I'm not Ultron" *HE'S JARVIS* "I'm not Jarvis" *Oh* lol
🤣🤣🤣
I was waiting for this 😀
I can’t wait to see the emotional rollercoaster that Alex is going to sit through during Civil War, infinity war and End Game
"Who's Clint? That Hawkeye?" LOL! Yeah, that's Hawkeye. It kills me because, despite literally everyone referring to him as "Clint" out loud in every damn movie, people STILL sit there and wonder "Who's Clint?" Yeesh! O_o
I'll do you one better. Every time I watch a reaction video with Sam Wilson in it, people only call him Falcon.
They'll say everybody else's first name, but never bother to remember to say Sam. Just Falcon...like he's not worth remembering his name.
@@blackkatt777 Super good point.
The marvel theory is that all the heroes and villains can be traced back the captain America. Most of them are attempts and recreating the super soldier serum.
