All the comments filled with people fighting for their own limitations. Upset that he’s told it’s “in his mind” and speculating on what his diagnoses is. Completely missing the fact that Alan Gordon actually helped him eliminate his pain.
I don't understand some of these comments. Just because something is psychological in origin doesn't mean that you aren't experiencing real pain, or that you're "faking it". The brain has such a powerful affect on the rest of our bodies. If you are experiencing that much pain why not exhaust every possiblity to resolve it? This approach is clearly working for him, and improving his life. Why deny that? It doesn't invalidate your pain.
The Steph and Steve Show you guys need to watch the whole episode, they scanned his brain before and after the treatment and it's fixed now.. his brain was sending false signals and lighting up for pain before and then after it has regular signals.. basically meaning his brain was producing all the pain.
Katie Ahronson yeah but in this case the brain detects it as real, physical pain so it can end in the person passing out...phobia of blood is a similar case, there is not really something bad happening but someone can pass out just by seeing blood
Standard medical response if they don't understand something: it's stress, it's psychological! The arrogance is unreal, we should have learnt our lesson after what happened with parkinsons, MS and increasingly ME. It's great he appears to be doing better here but if he was genuinely in that much physical pain I doubt this is the whole story. Sure it's an approach to try, but don't treat the paitent like you KNOW. There is much in the body we still do not understand or cannot see specifically relating to all of the micro processes that go on.
They're not saying it's psychological as in "oh my boyfriend dumped me, now I have a stomachache". It's somatic pain (REAL PAIN) but exaggerated. Not that he is exaggerating it, but his brain is. I've heard it described like comparing different people eating spicy food - some love it, some hate it, some feel pain, some vomit - we can build a little tolerance, but it's not completely in our control
Jessica, you make a good point but the fact is that severe pain can and often is psychological in nature. If you look at conversion disorder you will get an understanding of just what the mind is capable of. That said, people in pain should always rule out structural issues before turning attention to the mind. I have chronic pain that was evaluated by consultant level professionals and no matter what tests they did it always comes back negative. In the end it was diagnosed as somataform disorder and the pain is incredibly real and very painful.
Amy F Me too! It's a struggle for real and the saddest part is people tend to say "it's all in your head" and what they mean is we're faking it. That frustrates me to the core! Cause they do say fibromyalgia is in the brain and our pain receptors are constantly shooting out pain signals ( something like that lol. I'm no Doctor) So I wonder if this could help, not that we're faking but maybe teach the brain that we're not in pain. .I guess I'm dreaming..lol plus I live with several Chronic pain issues that do show up on an MRI etc.. I've been in pain since I was 28 or so , so a little over 10 years. What age was you because you look so young. I'm sorry you suffered so long. ((Hugs)) Jess 💜
I'm currently suspected of having both endometriosis and fibro, people have suggested endo to me for over 3 years now but I kept getting brushed off by doctors as "just being a woman" (doesn't help that I'm only just now turning 18). But my entire body hurts after I collapsed from abdominal pain that came out of nowhere during a college class.(I had a pretty solid system for dealing with the undiagnosed symptoms I already had) Since then I switched doctors and went for an ultrasound that didn't show anything abnormal (yay?). I've had to drop of college (I was studying a lvl 3 science btec in the hopes of being able to go abroad to either korea or Japan for university) and I can't find work due to being so ill.
Alan Gordon featured in this video is a mind body TMS coach. Same with Dan Buglio from painfreeyou. Both see fiber myalgia and migraines as a TMS affliction. Gordon’s new book just released is “the way out” released on Aug 24 2021. It’s available in print and audiobook and will amaze you. The root of the pain is TMS mind body syndrome. Dr John Sarno rusk university is credited with discovering it
I have neauropathy and eyrthelmelgia a skin condition that feels like stabbing pain , I can deal with the pain because I taught myself too but it's more then that . Just because you can train yourself out of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist . They need to check his ski also for redness in the area . He needs a proper diagnosis .
Will this affect him in the future? I mean if he’s trying to convince his brain that there’s no pain will this make him ignore any pain somewhere else in his body that might indicate an abnormality?
fahad no because he's not ignoring it. He's retraining his brain. It is real pain but the problem is his brain is basically creating the pain by sending the signals for pain now his brain will no longer do that.
I had the same thing as a kid! In the same area of my body. I would get pain attacks like this about once a month, and then at some point they just stopped

So true,,, What is pain ? Do dead people suffer pain if we punch them but heir body got a real beating ! Right ? So it means pain is processed by brain, bcz dead peopl dont have functioning brain so they dont feel pain. Pain is caused when our brains feel danger! Sometimes when we are overly stressed and tensed Brain creats fear and false danger signals, so when we remain in fear cycle some get depression, some get anxieties, some get fast heart beats, some get diseases some get sweats, some get nausea and ofcourse some get chronic pain. Teach your brain you are safe pain will not matter.
Aljaž Jesen how do you know? Doctors tell many people they have psychogenic pain when they can’t figure out the real cause. I’m not sharing they aren’t right, but they shouldn’t come to a conclusion like that so quickly.
Well .. yeah that sounds like a typical diagnosis "it's all in your head". .. that's usually what they tell you when they don't know 😂 . He needs to have blood panels , autoimmune testing , celiac testing , rhuematoid factor . Genetics . All of those things before they decide they don't know .
420 cbrYT didn’t know you had your crystal ball with you today and could tell that he has never been stabbed before dumbass lmao oml like actually how would you know if he ever got stabbed jeez...smh
You dont have to get stabbed to know what it feels like. I have had some of the worst pain you could ever think of, besides the suicide disease. Ive never once passed out. I have both kidney and kidney stone disease, as well as have had a baby on top of my kidneys nearly dying. The worst pain i have ever had isnt any of that. Its having a cyst the size of a golf ball literally burst.
I have gastroparesis...he's clutching his side by his colon. I have pain there, but I also have colonic dysmotility. He hasn't described nausea or fullness. But I do wonder if they did motility studies
pineapple TM you sound silly. It's been proven that the mind takes a physical tole on you . I had chest pains for years thinking I had heart problems but eventually after being hospitalized with no diagnosis I seen my psychiatrist and he said it was due to my sexual trama as a kid and that's how my body was dealing with it I did therapy and my chest pains aren't as nearly as bad anymore
Hawraa Khrss dont remember period cramps being excruciating pain, sometimes it hurts yes sometimes its uncomfortable but nowhere near the level of pain that this guy had so pls shut up
Actually I do experience severe pain once in a while when I have my period, it hurts so much that I passed out in the table while drinking hot tea to warm my stomach or even in the bathroom while taking warm baths. I ended up having burns and bruised so now I just stay in bed if I feel the spell is coming.
It's so easy to say, "he's faking it" when it hasn't happened to you.
GerardWay4President his brain scans showed he was feeling pain, that doesn't sound like faking

doesn't he pass out? pretty sure that's not faking it
The Steph and Steve Show
Yea exactly
I would definitely have shown the doctor the video of him passing out. that is not all in his head
Yeah, it’s physiologically impossible to pass out because of psychological pain..
The Steph and Steve Show you guys need to watch the whole episode, they scanned his brain before and after the treatment and it's fixed now.. his brain was sending false signals and lighting up for pain before and then after it has regular signals.. basically meaning his brain was producing all the pain.

Has his brain learned that pain from past pains he may have had? Like from IBS cramps or something?
I wish my fibromyalgia pain would go away like his pain has. I've been suffering for at least 20 years
Amy F Me too! It's a struggle for real and the saddest part is people tend to say "it's all in your head" and what they mean is we're faking it. That frustrates me to the core! Amy Francko & Sandra Bryant u know that add “If you suffer from Fibromyalgia” maybe that could help?
Keep going Amy!! Your mind is much more powerful than you think! You can do this, you CAN conquer it!!!

that's terrible. " It is all in your head" They don't fucking understand how terrible his situation is. Just hope that he can get better.
The video shows he literally did get better
incredible thank God he is better

Getting slight Nev vibes from the psychiatrist
What is that?
Nev....from Catfish. Look it up
Yes!
It's called past life pain, he just needs to convince his mind its not real.

Undiagnosed chronic infection. Like Lyme disease or other tick Bourne infection? Causing severe gut symptoms/leaky gut? Cannabis oil help?

He's not faking the pain is too extreme nobody can't make that pain
Linda Giles his brain sends signals, it's a placebo effect.. its real to his mind, but it's not actually real.
@@carolynmmitchell2240 you are so correct

Is he short or is that guy tall?
sounds like periods
MINAH THE CHAMPION yeah it's basically the same thing, mainly in peoples head thinking it is 10x worse than it actually is
It definitely seems worse
MINAH THE CHAMPION they don’t make you fall to the ground and faint like this guy. Don’t try to act like you got it worse.
No it doesn't. Periods hurt but this seems 100000 times worse
MINAH THE CHAMPION really does but a period a better I'd rather have a period then this.
That’s how I feel with a kidney stone
IBS?
Psychogenic pain? I don't think so.
Benzley Jane yep thats exactly what it was
Benzley Jane its simillar to an anxiety attack but instead of giving you anxiety, its actual pain
Aljaž Jesen how do you know? Doctors tell many people they have psychogenic pain when they can’t figure out the real cause. I’m not sharing they aren’t right, but they shouldn’t come to a conclusion like that so quickly.
Benzley Jane well yes but they did psyhological treatment and it went right
Benzley Jane if youre a doctor and you tested your patient and you cant find any cause of pain, its pretty logical to conclude it dont you think?
yeah I don't buy it
The poor kid is probably still in pain and learnt to hide it better.
2:43 lol
He’s passed out because of the pain I don’t think he’s faking it
It's psychological...
Sounds like FND or fibromyalgia
Omg I was right with my comment on the part 1 to this video.
