- Michael Betts, age 22 from Granville, Ohio suddenly was afflicted by a mysterious and severe abdominal condition. Weeks at a local hospital provided no answers and he was emergency transported to the Clinic. He endured excruciating pain until our group practice of medicine led to the answer, vasculitis. Once diagnosed, he has prescribed the proper medication and treatments. He is now living his normal active life. His family appreciated every aspect of care he received at Cleveland Clinic.

Wow, what a story. People spend years and big bucks searching for that elusive diagnosis. What a blessing to have had a group of dedicated specialists fighting for you and your family. That is awesome they found it. I doubt you are still reading comments, but if you are I hope that are doing well and charging forward in life!!
I was super lucky myself a regular pediatric doctor figured it out for me and I just so happen to be the one person that seems to get the rarest side effects or have the strangest reaction to things that could potentially give a bad reaction and it's happened to me 3 times already now between that one and 2 after being diagnosed it's nuts
Wow you have no idea how rare it is to get treated like this by dedicated specialists, doctors & nurses. I've been so ill for five years and I can barely get anyone to listen to me. I'm in constant pain and ignored by doctors and specialists. You are so so lucky to have been in the right place. So pleased you got the right treatment to get better. If only other medical professionals were like the ones you were blessed with

Yeah, some docs act like snail. That's why active doctors is what we need. Many docs are greedy they feed on your sickness, even sometimes they are the reason many patients die that could have been saved in initial stage. Obviously we are living in a world where demons are in billions but Angels are very few.
I have suffered from persistent stomach pain for years now. Nothing seems to be changing with my weight and my body, but it’s been a terrible 7 years of constant pain. You are really blessed to have had this cured.

Hey man you should have visited a doctor. It could be cancer which is probably growing at a very low pace. Or it could be any other disease related to your genetics or it could be a abdomen infection which may be growing slowly. Having pain for 7 continues years and not knowing the reason tells that you were being reckless with your own self. If you're still having same symptoms then go to a doctor ASAP.
I find this utterly amazing. Nobody would care about me enough to even do anything to help me. Never mind a mother nursing me and hospitals giving pain relief. I'd be sent home almost immediately and left to die. I don't think people realise how lucky they are.

Sounds like what I’m going through. I think we have an autoimmune disease. I’m trying to cut out alll gluten and sugar and processed foods , hoping for the best
Im only 18years old and in a similar situation right now that has just been getting worse and worse over the past couple of years. The horrible stomach pain aswell as nausea, joint pain, migraines, bloating, back pain, vision getting worse, brain fog, memory loss, and so much more. My doctor has tested me for everything he could think of but everything always comes back negative.
I’m starting to lose hope that I’ll ever get better but this video just brought a little bit of hope back!

You can look at Floxie Hope regarding joint pain from antibiotics. For stomach pain could be GERD food sensitivities. Try eliminating dairy, gluten, try food combining to help with slow digestion which can produce bloating. Try lemon juice (no sugar) to help digestion. Don't eat past 6pm. A pinch of salt with water to facilitate cell hydration. A lot you can try.

I have similar symptoms. Bloated stomach, chronic constipation, sometimes I get headaches and heartburns, farting all the time especially during the night. I feel tired all the time. Can't sleep at night at all. And on top of all that, I have anxiety. This is just crazy. I don't know what to do anymore 😔😭

You mean the doctors actually took him seriously and didn’t tell him he needs a psychotherapist and psych meds? I’ve had issues for years and the blow me off because I have a history of depression and anxiety. The Doctors in my city don’t care to find out what the actual problem is. Especially if you are a patient on state medical insurance.

Have you heard people talk about - Quonfen Anxiety Adirondacks - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my partner got great results with it.

My daughter has been having a constant stomach pain. She was severely constipated and they got her cleaned out but she is still losing wait and has no appetite. She was such a happy little girl and now she is pale and sleeps a lot. I m crying writing this it’s killing me that I can’t fix my daughter.

Try a de-worming medication. It shouldn't do any harm And might solve the problem. Also fresh fruit and veg + lots of water.

I’m from the UK and I’m having some serious pain in my upper abdomen. Been undiagnosed for 2 years since I became unwell. Doctor has told me to just live with it. Can’t exert myself or live normally. Wish the UK had a place like the Cleveland.

@@goduke3954 I've seen many doctors. The first one said It was a gas issue. And the other said it was a gallbladder issue. So I'm getting an ultrasound soon. Try taking gas x and see if that works. Also take taillanol when you have abdomen pain. Taillanol and pain killers help the most for me.
I was diagnosed with the same exact thing but no doctor tried as hard as they did. They would just send me home, they didn’t try.

I had this as a kid. His sounds mild compared to mine. I was 8 my entire body was swollen, lips, eyes, fingers, had severe hemorrhoids (had to use a donut pillow and lay on it to be transported in the car) had to crawl to the bathroom bc of the pain, would vomit, couldn’t eat, pee was powder looking, developed nephritis and now to this day I have some random rare condition that causes me to go into liver failure. I’ve never been the same after having that! He’s lucky!

Dude you're not alone. Literally asking the lord out loud to ease the pain.. And for me it seems like the things that set it off can change. Hamburger fine one day praying to the lord in the fetal position the next. The lord is the only one who will listen to me the doctors just think im trying to get narcotics and lecture me and send me on my way with their scolding accusations and their bill.

I have undiagnosed severe pain in groin and both hip areas . Pain alternates groin then right side then left side from day today. Pain in one of 3 areas each day but never in 2 areas. Eating Percocet but little relief. Been to every specialist that deals with organs in that area but they can’t find anything. Finally I got approved for disability benefits without a diagnosis which I feel fortunate to get. 4 year now out of work and in bed in pain most all the time. A pain clinic doc sent me to a spine neurosurgeon this week with my lumbar mri. He was hoping the surgeon may find a pinched nerve or something. Nothing was found on mri. Just a typical 55 year old lumbar spine. But the surgeon did recommend seeing a rheumatologist to look into inflammation that may be causing this horrible pain. It’s very draining on a person mentally as well when there seems there is no end in sight. Now I hope a rheumatologist can figure it out. This will be doctor number 28

But if you call 911, and they don't find anything you will be labeled as a "drug seeker" when they don't find a physical cause. Please for anyone sufferring pain - consider your overall gut health. A modern diet is full of toxins, artificial colours/preservatives and additives. Try eating super clean and healthy and drinking ACV (Braggs) or any os fine with water before a meal to help get your gut flora healthy.

@@williesanders3214 It's what my Doc told me after goodness years of this issue and we both had to keep working to find out some causes, even medication can set this off and the day (or night) is pretty much over for me, low energy weak stomach from the spasms and mentally exhausted from holding yourself together because worrying only makes it worse.

I've had severe abdominal pain for 24 yrs! I've been to the mayo clinic in Wisconsin and every dr of gastroenterology in my city. They've NEVER FIGURED it out! They pass me to a different dr or psychologist or psychiatrist sayn its all in my head. I have a brain gut disorder from PTSD they say. The pain is so intense I pass out sometimes. I'm at a loss. Im 45 yrs old and half my life is gone to constant pain.

Guys I know a way to get rid of it I get it alot close ur eyes and focus on ur breathing don't think about the pain and then get a hot pad and massage ur stomach . It actually helps!

I'm in the same situation, The past 2 years I've been in pain. ER doctors couldn't ever figure it out, They finally told me to see a gastroenterologist, But I'd first need a doctor's referral. I set up my Dr appointment and she did not refer me. So I'm still living on pins and needles (actually feels like that's literally true) until I figure out my next move.

my chronic stomach pain has been going on for 6 years now, i only started smoking a couple months ago to help the pain. I start to doubt any doctor can tell me what it actually is and help it.
I went to the Doctor and he said that my stomach has moved to the left side underneath my spleen and heart when I eat it hurts and I vomit at night if I eat. Doctor said I need surgery to move my stomach back in place

Funny, this is an ad for Cleveland Clinic, of course the staff will get glowing reviews. Medical machine is severely broken by greed. I have vasculitis in brain and eyes. I’m nearly blind and my days are numbered. My illness in 3 words: torture, devastating, traumatic.
My fellow humans, if that happens and you are taking any meds. Take one of the meds you stopped taking. For me, benzo withdrawal gut pain, didn't know if it was opiate or benzo. I tested it and took a benzo, gut pain settled. Started tapering. Whenever stomach pain arose, take the smallest amount to feel normal. Repeat but decrease dosage every few days

It's the worst !!!!!!!! Unbearable. Was in hospital last night just gave me morphine. Didn't help. I discharged myself cuz I knew it would just be same as last time. Feeling a bit better now to be honest pain has subsided, for now. Hope you all get better and find an answer. I do actually think my stomach attacks are nothing serious just constipation or not eating properly etc. either way pain is pain and it's unbearable. Good luck everyone.

Listen to podcasts and TH-cam on SIBO. Some of you may have. My pain comes a few hours after eating and sends me to bed for 1-3 hours each time. I don’t have answers so far, but am seeing a gastroenterologist at Mayo. Best wishes to you all who are hurting.

Isabel Official It sounds like you had an attack. This can be a form of inflammatory bowel disease. I had that same exact pain on my left side too. It felt like a shape stabbing pain. I went to the emergency room and I was I. There for 2 weeks. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and Colitis. They told me it was because I am sensitive to Gluten. Maybe you can try staying away from Gluten and see what happens. Get well soon!

BasketballUnity My doctor told me it was not curable. Its conferred to be a chronic disease that never heals. There will be good times where the attacks don’t come as often but the attacks do still come.

I entered Ohio State University Hospital on 16 June 2021 spent 17 long days there. Had swelling of brain, and spinal cord, 30lb weight loss , memory loss wasa I sick puppy the let me out after I was stabilized, then boom blood clots. Another hospital visit. They decided we need to get on this and more MRIs were done then a Brain angiogram was done which showed normal then the Brain Biopsy which showed CNS Vasculitis. Well I start Chemo monday the 31st. I was in OSUH and saw a lot of students and I told them you might want to remember today you met possibly the only patient with CNS Vasculitis you will ever meet in your career. Hopefully one of them will take to making this a specialty practice.

I feel mine like 24/7 and nighttime is literally the worst time of my life, i stay up until like 3-4 am because it hurts so freaking much and my family doesn't do anything or think anything of it, i also bloat and other crap, also eating is legit so hard for me because i can't tell what's gonna be bad or if it's just gonna end up to be my stomach playing games with me, it flipping sucks m8

I have an abdomen pain and I’ve been having this pain for so long for months I’ve gone to the hospital and all they say is that maybe I ate something that did me wrong that I’m fine they can’t fine nothing wrong idk what to do anymore every day I wake up with pain and go to sleep in pain it hurts so much and I just want something to make it stop hurting

What is other symptoms
I have hade stomach pain varying from noticeable but I can carry on with my life to blacking out and feeling like I am having a heart attack. Most of the time it’s a chronic pain that I can just about bare. I am 14 and have had this unknown pain for a year and 2 months now. I have had a biopsy for celiac disease that came back negative and half of my blood tests have come back positive for celiac and the other half negative. I have tried cutting out different things and am on IBS medication that doesn’t work. I have had ultra sounds around my stomach and lower that were negative. I don’t know what it could be but I hope one day it will stop

My lower middle abdomen hurts. It usually hurts when I pee or when I lean to far forward. It happened right after I got done working out.

@@smiley00 yeah so basically I wasn’t peeing right before bed and my bladder would get to full overnight and I wouldn’t realize till the next morning. As soon as I stand up i SERIOUSLY have to go to the bathroom. So basically the cure for me was to pee right before bed. And try not to get to full of a bladder. Cause I’m pretty sure it was just a urinary track infection.
I thought it was right after I got done working out but I do remember feeling it when I woke up that morning and I guess I did a squat wrong and it just triggered it a whole lot more.
Severe abdominal histamine intolerance. I have the same thing. Can be caused by mold poisoning and Lyme. HSP vasculitis is a massive inflammatory response to these conditions.

I sit there and don't get told anything. They give me a medication I can't tell if it works and the stomach pain is so bad I scream out in pain
Omg... I wonder if he had inflammation as I did in his colon, thought I had left sided colitis. When they started me on prednisone I was better in literally 3 hours as well. I went through the same things without diagnosis. I did a colonoscopy everything. I was in so much pain and used the restroom up to 15 times a day. Prednisone fixed me in 3 hours. 😲

I have had my stomach pains for five years a lot of people say I’ll grow out of it and the doctors say it’s constipation but I don’t know it’s very painful though it gets more painful like every month

My stomach feels completely fine in summer no problem nothing but once winter hits everything is over, my upper centre abdomen starts to hurt really bad. I can't go to any lectures or talk to anyone because of the pain. When I eat it goes away for 10 - 15 minutes and than comes back. I also figured out that stress can make it 10 times worse. I always lay on the floor close to the heater which reduces the pain a bit. Been going to the doctor for the past 9 years but they can't seem to figure out what the problem is either. I had to quit my football (soccer) carrier because of that.
If anyone can relate please let me know every sort of advice is appreciated.
Adam King same thing happens to me, in the summer I can eat and drink dairy products, but in the winter. I can’t eat anything cause my stomach starts to hurt.
@@arshdeepbasraon2262 I recently purchased a Hot Water Buttle, I fill it up with hot water and hold it again my stomach. Reduced my stomach ache tremendously. Drinking plenty of water and turning on the heater or sitting in a warm place also reduced it for me. For the past 5 days, hopefully it'll stay that way. One more thing always make sure that your hands and feet are warm.

I have a terrible stomach ache once every month or 2 months and it happens randomly, I get sweaty and am in pain but have no idea what it is. My stomach feels like it’s filling up but after 15-20 minutes it goes away
That sounds like adult colic it's very painful.

I just had an endoscopy and now have horrible pain in stomach that radiates to my back and the GI says he just doesn’t know what could be causing the pain. So frustrating.

i have had a random pinching pain where my appendix should be and it’s been weeks. it’s annoying but not unbearable, it also happens in the opposite side occasionally and random indigestion too, i’m not nauseous, it doesn’t hurt when i push it or cough, and i don’t have a fever so i have no clue what it is. can anybody help

I have been having intense pain in my abdomen, intestines, and lower back at times. It's been like this for 2 weeks. I am also having pain with sex and my body is not lubricating. I'm 30 years old. I have an appoinment with an OBGYN for an exam on March 8th (which is the soonest they could see me). I am so frustrated and I cannot quit crying. I am in so much pain. I talked to a doctor on K-Health today and she couldn't tell me anything.

@@marecki6666 this is the first I've ever heard of this... I've suffered from ulcerative colitis since 2007 and have been smoking weed pretty much daily for the past 3 years... Oddly enough I was quitting the smoking, due to a new baby on the way and I didn't want to be sedated her entire life and am just hoping this is what has been causing my abdominal discomfort lately.. It's gotten worse and my diet has been the strictest it's ever been since being diagnosed as was at my wits end. I pray with the removal of marijuana that these issues improve. If it does, you are a godsend and it was Devine intervention that I even came across you message!

I feel like I’m dying right now, right after I ate seaweed, I just felt SOOO much pain, I still feel it rn, it hurts too much.
Ok i was perfectly fine. Somehow i just got a mysterious pain in my lower stomach and when i press on it, the pain increases for a second then i tried sitting on my stomach, IT HURTED, so i don't know what i have.
