Played a bunch tonight. Went 7-2 with this deck. The 2 loses we’re miss plays also / learning. Really fun to play and great options! I don’t own k2so yet so ran 2 Kanas. I did use him to get a force throw out one action sooner on turn 5 (because he was already out) so that part was good both otherwise he was just kind there. Not bad though. One game was just all space. With a suped up A wing! Favorite deck so far. Great work.
Really appreciate the explanations. I'll give it a try at locals tomorrow. Really hurts to lose Kanan in the main (he's my favorite character), but I get the reasoning. Also +1 to mulligans for FT against Boba. I wish I had done that when I went 1-2 to Mono Boba and never saw FT all 3 games. Much more favorable matchup if you have it. Keep up the great work!
If they battalion for 7 into churit then karablast will one shot Boba. Even if they only 5 him, sending him into a 2 power would do the trick still, with resources to heal. Would be interesting to keep in mind what a karablast would do from your hand during some games.
Test this and let me know how it goes, I haven't vetted that enough, sounds potentially really strong- and force throw is one of the best cards in the deck so having 6 of them sounds great.
Deck is sweet. Went 2-1 at our game night this evening losing funny enough to a mirror. Him running the 30 health base was what pushed him over the top in our game so def see why it’s a strong consideration.

Could you play alliance x-wing or split the difference over the rebel saboteur if you want cleaner damage, and also so you're not hemorrhaging ground units to getting ambushed. Cool deck, cool guy...looks like he's really good at Basketball.
If they have initiative they can Boba, Battalion giving +2 to boba to make sure it has 9 toughness for the turn. They’ll still get the extra two resources and the attack from boba, which they could send into churit to put him at +6 damage instead of +2, putting him out of reach of healing. Am I missing anything there? How do we play the Boba turn when they are on initiative?
This line is potentially correct - however, I don't forsee many boba players taking it, and if they jam ALL damage into chirrut that way they won't untap 2 (unless there are other units floating around, but see our point of emphasis on the turn prior) and if they are doing this you chirrut is also do 9 to their units (the 6 on their two attacks, and then you can crack back into one) with a force throw or it binds you're looking at an empty board and heading into the luke redemption portion of the game. Boba has lines for sure, and some games they will overwhlem you, but you have more unique outs than just "oop, got steadfasted"
Against boba if you have not found the force throw after mulligan and you have 7 drop luke. Do you hold on to it in case you draw force throw? Any card you never resource?
I played 9 games tonight. I did mulligan Unless i had a curve hand with something for churrit. I would resource a redemption early but tried to keep the luke if I could. I never resourced a jedi lightsaber. But always did the Luke’s lightsaber. The force is with me was a big hit. But didn’t feel I needed a third.
luke is pretty good vs boba so i doubt id row him. redemption can get rowed, but you generally want to have the angle if you draw thr throw and you see that being where the game is pivoting to. Obi get's rowed a lot, extra early drops (unless vs villian control).
How do you feel about having something like forced surrender or 6 cost vigilance in side vs control? I feel like my hardest matchup was going late vs Villain control as it felt their late game was just stronger than mine.
Do you struggle finding two drops? X-wing seems worth it especially if you have the wing leaders and fleet Lts. My luck would be no 2 drops and no force throws heh
I put one R2D2 in, even playing him alone isn't that bad, especiallly if you can throw a lightsaber on him turn 2 which is always funny. Even just playing 1 force throw turn 1 can be fine because forcing a discard usually screws with their curve
Does this has any game against Iden? Seems like too little early aggression potential to close out a game quickly, but also not enough staying power to contest the late
Control can still be a bit tricky - but with the discard and aggressive early flyers your matchup is MUCH better than vigilence chirrut. If control is heavy in you'll want to adjust your sb a bit and get the 3rd k2 in the main (probably cut a luke's lightsaber)>
I really like the deck and Chirrut is one of my favorite characters. I only have 1 Luke and 2 Redemptions and 2 It binds all things. What can I use as stand ins for those? Would adding in some of the sideboard cards you were talking about would be the way to go?
It's a consideration for sure, but this version is less vulnerable to those cards - but you could potentially not play the lukes sabers and sneak 2 in.
I was thinking the same thing. I’ve been playing a modified version and the only time I lose is if they can disrupt Chirut with take down. Regional governor would also protect your other units from similar takedown cards.
It's tempting because even if you're gambling tempo loss that they have takedown ready for Chirrut's deploy, you still have res to play jedi lightsaber or lukes lightsaber + force throw that turn... but it hurts to not have any of those and sacrifice playing the force is with me instead. I'm considering adding 2 to sideboard at least against blue control Also the idea of having multiple regional governors on the board that are annoying for them to get rid of and prevent them from playing 2 different removals is pretty hilarious
@@brostoevsky8481 - I switched out the reg gov for general donata which gives you 6 life on chirrut deeply without a major loss of tempo and aids other agro units

You have powerful lines too- some that pull away from them and have advantages to the "boba turn" that other decks don't have (namely your leader taking a hit from ecl steadfast and coming out alve.
What do you do against Takedown? I loved you Vigilance Chirrut deck a lot, but if I played against someone that new the strategy, they just keep a Takedown in hand for the action after I deploy my leader and the deck just crumbled. While this deck seems like it is more consistent, it looks like it is even more reliant on the Chirrut deployment.
You can jam a unit on the chirrut turn, if they pass, just continue to jam damage. If it goes to the next turn that's fine, eventually they have to use their resources, then you bring him out. takedown costing 4 isn't nothing for them.
Not sure you can assume to kill Boba with the force throw on turn 4. The card is really good because it will force them to discard a 2 cost card most of the time which tempos really well with something else; not withstanding, turn 5 is about the fett fire spray and you will never get them to throw that.. and ultimately this deck is going to struggle on turn 5 not withstanding as you have no air out and boba will double tap you hard with the firespray. Entirely correct on the It binds all things though; that is a 2 mana 6 differential card and plays extremely well in force leader decks. It is the equalizer card that brings you from being behind which you almost always are vs the agro/tempo decks and it allows you to keep a unit that might otherwise die on the following turn and instead clear the board.. If you played Chirrut without it binds all things you would be for sure making an underpowered deck. The force is with me is also very good, 4 mana automatic kill with board control sustain and long term 2 additional strength on any unit, its just amazing. Those cards frankly do not make sense out of a chirrut deck quite like they do in it. LSS, The deck is very good, can handle boba but i don't think you will see it beat it with a very high percentage; at best its 50/50 and will depend on combined percentages of them having the boba god draw with the 3 mana fett, an excellerant with the boba firespray.. vs you always needing to have minimum 2-3 of the afformentioned cards just to even have a proper chance as we all know this snowballs bad into turn 6 and often the game is over before 7.

I continue to get messages from people crushing with the vigilence one and the fact that that one is more of a combo deck = it's still going to get it's fair share of wins. This variation is a bit more tuned to the mirror and functions more in the traditional midrange role.
I think I'm going to try and riff on this deck since I have 0 luke skywalkers and only 1 k2so, probably subbing in Kanan and Mace, taking out luke's lightsaber, and replacing it with the force is with me x3 or medal ceremony. I already have a similar deck with Sabine as leader, more rebels like red three, but I haven't been able to make it to a weekly play yet so hopefully I can do that soon to get some games in.
Been on a math spree after watching this and you having 12 "Round 1 plays" over the 10 I have been playing with Chirrut So what Im finding is that you are (including mulligan) having a: 94.1436% with 10 hits (to find atleast one turn 1 play) 96.5925% with 11 hits 96.9724% with 12 hits So unless you are going for the "mulligan for force throw" over "mulligan to get a turn 1 play" the value of the 12th turn 1 play is 0.27% If you go for "mulligan for force throw" then the 12th turn 1 play is giving you more value 75.8% with 10 hits 79.5% with 11 hits 82.6% with 12 hits Still "only 3.1%" but thats atleast valuable Im thinking on the value of a 3rd K-2SO or a 3rd Obi to get those drops more reliable (Having obi on 6 resources go from ~48% to ~63% with a third copy in the deck, and to find K2 goes from ~36% to ~49%) There are options at those resource turns but its also probably one of the things you are looking to do so moving one card might upp your concistency greatly. But I do think im on the "eleven turn 1 plays train"
Im baffled why there is no mention to takedown (playing against villain vigilance in general) in the video. Is one of the worst counters to this, as is no good to me dead, to a lesser extent

I really love Karablast in this list it combos so well with chirrut and redemption feels like another big cheap swing like force throw

Matty here: I like forced surrender in the board vs control. I play chirrut a bit and run that in my sideboard for the iden matchup.

Luke Is a bit more integral to this one than the last. That being said, adding red gives us the ability to run mace!

If you have Mace you can try him over Luke. Round out a 2 of to a 3 for the Redemption. Like 3 The force is with me.

Pressure them with your other units so if they continue to hold takedown they fall further behind.

Im very new to the game and just build a version of the Chirrut Vigilance. Is this deck a huge upgrade or would the Vigilance version be fine?

Probably better to run more of a 2 of or a random mace so you have more high force throw targets but try aggression if you want!
