⚠Note: One Sharp Joe reached out to me and let me know the font alignment on the damage tokens has been fixed and I also got smaller epic action tokens than they now offer - I got an older batch, so keep that in mind!
Thank you for reviewing our accessories Mike. Very much appreciated! We will take on board all of your feedback and work to improve our range in the future.
I have the BTST tokens and whatever differences exist, I bought my set a week ago and the XP green tokens do not have the issue found in this set where you can read the bottom through the top. Changes must have been made, I LOVE this token set
@@LiterallyUnplayable I think there is a lot in this game that does need tokens. I think the only thing I would like is dice for damage... but some units have more than 6HP and things get messy for sure.
Thanks for the codes! I just picked up the One Sharp Joes tokens and initiative counter. Agree about the font, and didn’t take the temporary boost tokens for that reason… Everything else in this set looks great though
My thoughts: Damage: Gamgenic - should have the 3 and be doublesided, but they are clean and work just fine Shield: Gamegenic - they just work imo Reminder: Gamegenic - the others didn't impress, and this purple see-through is great Epic: BTST - the bigger size and the extra details of the lines like on a screen are legit (used your code! Also, got a couple of the Han tokens haha) Experience: Laser Gaming - specifically the black backed, and white backed -/+. I like those, they should be double-sided. I could settle with the red/blue versions since those are the colors on the cards, but they look too simple imo.
I actually built a custom mobile app for counting base life (will be released on the app store in a few weeks). But i really want to pick up one of these for unit damage.
I ordered some Laser gaming tokens a week or so ago and they should be in the this week! Super excited to replace the cardboard ones that came in the prerelease
Normally I'm cool with this but did have a table get nudged once and the dice rolled a bit. Yes this can be solved by writing down damage as we go, but it's kind of frustrating and doesn't happen with tokens. I also hate adding up in increments of six, but that's just bc I am a moron lol
best token set would actually just be a bunch of dice (red for damage, green for exp, blue for shield) as well as some 'epic action used' counters and some 'sentinel // reminder for discarding han resources' tokens. that would cover all the bases
That’s what I have. No 3s and the tokens aren’t double-sided (except the buff/debuff tokens), but I think they look great and I believe they’re only $25, or a little more if you get the frosted acrylic.
@@BenChasebbchaseThey must have updated their tokens since then because you can now get them all double sided and the numbers include 3s too in the basic $25 set. Really don't see a reason to go with LaserGaming ATM unless they start doing double-sided too...
FYI: There is a perfect inlet on printables for the official token set. It fits perfectly into the official deck boxes. Nothing falls out. You can count out tokens via feeling. This is a gamechanger.
A note to all token-makers: Please don't make tokens that are perfect circles. They are generally more difficult to pick up and are prone to rolling around/off the table. If you want to make more "rounded" tokens, either make them slightly oblong/ovoid or make them square-ish with rounded edges to enhance usability. I really like the clean and bright design of Laser Gaming's damage and shield tokens but being circular, I probably won't get them. If they ever come out with an updated design where they are a slightly different shape, I'll probably jump on those in a heartbeat.
I find the BTST damage tokens to be harder to read when watching your matches on the channel because they are so small, especially when watching on my phone. I can understand wanting smaller tokens so as not to hide the card too much when playing, but when I watch matches on TH-cam, the bigger the tokens, the better to easily understand what's happening, like those big tokens Garbage Rollers use. Thanks for the review, I wasn't aware of the Laser Gaming tokens. Their damage tokens aren't really big, but they seem very easy to read AND they offers 3s, unlike the Gamegenic ones.
Funny, I had the Gamegenic tokens first and seeing the BTST tokens live on Mike’s video actually pushed me over into getting that set as I thought the damage tokens were so clearly readable! 😅
I bought some from Strata Strike that are glittery.. they looked the closest to the gamegenic official ones. A lot of people say they look nice. I'd still rather have the official ones lol
This was a really really good overview of the tokens. We got a good objective overview and your personal opinions of each set. Since I have the gamegenic I'll probably stick with those and get another set. But I do have the same issues with those as you do.
I have been using tokens from previous FFG/Star Wars games while trying to figure out if/when I will upgrade them. I think Im more likely to pick up some of the super specific tokens like the No good to me dead Han in carbonite. I also want to find a cool token for the Han leader to mark the resources that needed to be destroyed when using his ability. I use +1/+1 dice for experience and that just feels better than tokens. Seems like a lot of fluff in the token box.
Damage: Lasergaming, so readable and ressourecful Shield: Lasergaming, even nthough Gamegenic is close but a shield token should be a circle Reminder: Gamegenic, perfect size and color Epic Action: BTST, the size is perfect for the cards, the rest is just too small Experience: BTST, double sided just wins here. Had Lasergaming made theirs double sided they would get the trophy but BTST should do something about the readability Initiative: I would go with Lasergaming as it is chunky, looks good and is readable. I don't know what Gamegenic was thinking but using the logo here just isn't cool. Thank you for the overview!
I contemplated trying to find a separate reminder token, but could you tell me what you use it for? I just can't see the forest for the trees when it comes to what I would need it for ......
@@LiterallyUnplayable thanks, as someone who has taken a loooooooooong time to find a TCG to get deep into, I have a plethora a board game knowledge that my mind is always focused on projecting into tcgs, so the crossover leaves me confused sometimes
@@LiterallyUnplayable okay that’s good to know. I found that I can fit 2 full decks in the single deck pods, they just need to be compressed a little. So depending on if I take two decks or not, that could compromise whether I can fit one of these too. Thanks!
You should buy numbered dice! I find the tokens to be a little "too much" when I can use one numbered die to represent damage instead. For experience, I just use the token cards
You could go the dice route, it's a personal preference really, it's not the same for everybody. In your case, you could get the +1/+1 dice for experience, the token cards are a little 'too much' as well when you're playing tarkin deck, wing leader, medal ceremony, etc.
@LiterallyUnplayable my irritation comes exclusively from the damage counters. Lot of time wasted waiting for my opponent to dig around for the right number and swapping to a bigger number once enough damage is placed. Dice are easy for everyone
Check out the description for some non-affiliate links to these token sets (and 10% discount codes for viewers!)
For BTST you could use the exhaust/ready tokens as reminder tokens instead.
Totally, that’s a good call!

Good to know!!
I like the metal tokens from metalfabtokens. I even 3d printed a tray for them on printables.
Nice I'll have to check those out!
I just looked into these and they look amazing. I might wait until they make the twin suns tokens and order all of it together.
Can also recommend metalfabtokens I had always used them for Flesh and Blood so as soon as they made SWU tokens I knew I had to get them
They're beautiful, but 2-3x as expensive as other tokens.
@@ReallyBigBadAndy76worth it. They’re easily 10x better
Awesome video idea! 😉 I feel like GameGenic needs to make colored dice for damage, experience, and shields.
I am not a fan of dice at all for tracking stuff in this game so I don't mind using tokens instead haha

I get it, Nom.
Personally I only go up to 5 on my D6. It makes the math easier and all bases are divisible by 5.
