@@gorillagamer6621They don't Disney owns the animated TV Rights. Sony has features length rights which considering Invincible is over 40 minutes I guess Sony could have approved it. Amazon doesn't own right to any part of Spider-Man but Sony are producing live action shows that will be distribution by Amazon.

@@gorillagamer6621 That doesn't mean Amazon own the right to anything, they are singed to distribute the show but the rights belong to Sony who are developing the show. Amazon can't use Spider-Man in other shows like Invincible without the expressed permission of Sony, Disney marvel may also have a thing to say about it.
The Spider-Man rights are pretty simple Disney Marvel owns almost everything from merchandise to video game and animated TV which is why the new Spider-Man cartoon will be on Disney +. Sony own the featured length right to Spider-Man which is film and television expect for animation, if Sony want to use Spider-Man in animation the show would have to be over something like 45 minutes long which is considered feature length.

He does say to invincible that "he has way to much experience with other dimensions especially lately". Which implies he was (possibly) visited by spiderman 2099, and offered to recruit him into the spider society. But he turned it down. It's a neat little headcannon lol

@@CarianG780I disagree with this. Mark became a hero solely because his dad was a hero already, and was born with his powers, Mark while reluctant to kill he does end up doing it in certain situations, and finally nobody in Marks family gets killed till the tail end of the series.
In terms of personality and going through shitty moments in their lives, Mark and Peter are very much alike, but aside from that they are far different characters,and especially has nothing in common with Batman.

Getting Josh back was a win even if the appearance was short. Because many consider Josh to be the best Spider-Man voice actor and he definitely takes the gold medal in terms of being a Spider-Man voice actor for animated Spidey shows

Sony actually doesn't hold the TV animation rights to Spider-Man anymore, Disney does. That's actually the whole reason Spectacular Spider-Man wasn't renewed.
He said as much, Disney has the rights for cartoon series, but Sony still has the feature length rights, which includes animated feature length films, it's they can even make the Spider-Verse movies in the first place

Marvel is just missing out on everything because of Disney is not letting them do what they want and doesn't want any collaboration with any companies but to themselves no matter What people say or sees as Sony is already starting to losing their grip of Spider-Man rights
I mean tbf the only good thing Sony has done with those rights is the Spiderverse films and aspects of Tasm, everything else has been mid or bad (soft spot for the venom movies though I just like venom)

Sony doesn’t own the rights to Spider-Man for tv anymore, marvel does. It’s why spectacular Spider-Man was cancelled and they made two new ones, with a new show called “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” sometime this year. It’s also why Spider-Man showed up in “What If…?”, it’s cause they can legally do so. I get the confusion that “Sony owns Spider-Man” but they only own movie rights and that’s it. TV show rights and comic book rights belong to Disney/marvel.
Either way, I don’t disagree with Amazon not wanting to even try to work with Disney on a deal with Spider-Man. It’s hella complicated as it is. But it’s still just Disney that owns the rights they would have to ask for, since it’s the television/show rights and not the movie rights.

In my opinion agent spider could just be a different variant of Spider-Man
They didn't even really get batman. They kept the gauntlet that's in frame in the comic off the frame, because despite having rights to use DC characters, WB itself is SUPER stingey about where Batman and the Joker (and many others, but ESPECIALLY those two) are allowed to be used in their properties.
The edge of a pointy black cape is the max we were able to get, and it was likely to not have WB breath down the team's necks.
