As a child, this show was the ONLY reason I knew who Thanos was and what it meant when he first appeared in the Avengers 1 post credits scene. This show is an excellent young kids crash course on Marvel comics, and things like this are vital for catching up new generations of fans. We must NEVER undervalue the importance of media like this.
my favorite joke in the whole show is when wolveriene has to team up with H.E.R.B.I.E he pulls out a checklist of characters he has teamed up with and checks H.E.R.B.I.E off of it
When fans criticize kid shows, I look back to how the super hero squad show influenced my childhood and life forever, introducing me to marvel. These type of shows are what creates new fans, never judge them.
@@sexyyeyo Something being a kids show doesn't excuse it being bad, or lazy. Just because the Star Wars The Clone Wars movie is for kids doesn't mean its flaws can't be criticised
I can wholeheartedly agree here. Super Hero Squad was incredibly underrated. Thanos and Warlock had the fucking funniest chemistry in the whole series, and its even funnier when you figure out who voices Thanos here.
Yeah this show was essentially Marvel’s version of Teen Titans Go, but actually entertaining. It introduced me to many other characters like Reptil and MODOK. This cartoon wasn’t amazing but it was very cute.
The best way I can describe this show: some executives told a group of comic nerds to make a kids show and gave them little to no criteria except to sell toys. And they RAN WITH IT
I miss shows like this, that weren't afraid to lean onto the insanity of comics. Serious character driven stories are okay, but why can't a long running franchise have fun every now and then
I'll take Super Hero Squad over Teen Titans Go any day. The heroes may be silly and crack jokes, but they act like heroes should. They save lives, and help people. TTG doesn't do that at all. By the way, I have a good sense of humor. I don't mind the jokes on SHS.
The show is also kinda refreshing with the over exaggerating of the characters. Seeing the characters actually be different while still be the characters was so much fun. For Hulk in particular, you have just the Hulk instead of the Hulk/Bruce Banner as his usual portrayal. He can be happy and sad, and is just an overall goofball. It makes this Hulk unique and that much more memorable.
and then dc tried copying that but instead of making it good they just made the teen titans obnoxious clowns who don't really care about saying people.
I'm so surprised someone remembers this, I watched it as much as I could, pre-MCU marvel shows had such a charm because they didn't have to rely on mandates and keeping up with the films, while still introducing kids to what's to come in those movies. Good stuff.
This show introduced me to Marvel itself Probably my favorite ever cartoon (I mean I completed the first game they had on the wii because I loved it so much and unlocked Spider-Man)
Mine was messed up and kept trapping me on part of the silver surfer mission. Never finished it and that still makes me sad. Loved beating the crap out of my siblings in multiplayer mode though.
Never knew the show was good, what I remember is the tie in game, Super Hero Squad Online. Got me to know over a hundred of Marvel characters that were in the game. Also had MCU tie ins, but unfortunately it died in 2017.

I've heard that Spider-man was supposed to be in the show, but because of rights issues, he couldn't be used. So they replaced him with Reptile (he does have a reference in the show, and appears in the online game)

Though i remember being dissapointed that Spider-Man wasn't in the show, but I do now understand why and thank this show for not only introducing me to the larger scale Marvel universe, but also getting me to like other Marvel characters aside from Spider-Man (I still wish he was in the show though).
This show introduced me to so many Marvel characters, such as Falcon, Scarlet Witch and Black Knight. Even Doctor Strange (my absolute favorite hero in the MCU) and Thanos I first saw in this show.
This show is the best way to introduce kids to marvel, it perfectly emphasizes the characters and what they're like or the aspects of them I'm so glad I grew up with it and can still enjoy it today
The gag I remember most is from the finale when the infinity sword broke again and all the characters were just so fed up with having to look for the pieces again.
Super Hero Squad is what made me love Marvel! As an adult it is so hard to watch because it’s childish and the animation can be lazy but it has a place in my heart and the layers you mention are great. The characters are all so funny, this Hulk is one of my favourite versions 😂😂. And the theme song intro is awesome.
This show introduced me to many marvel characters when I was younger, sure I had no clue who any of them were but just that one show helped me with understanding characters that would be in movies and media to come. I need to rewatch it now
I always knew there was something to this show because I always found it funny, even when I got older. But I never heard those thoughts be put into words because it's one of those forgotten 2000's-era Marvel shows, it had a kinda odd lineup of characters with some you'd never see given any spotlight in other Marvel content like Silver Surfer and Reptil (who I'm pretty sure has barely been used in any other Marvel media since this show). I was such an avid fan of the franchise that I had some toys, the first two games for the Wii, and was an avid player of Super Hero Squad Online.
I actually did watch it as a kid. As a kid, for the most part, I *hated* superhero media with a few exceptions, this being one of them. I viewed it was one of the most serious things I watched, which doesn't seem to be the case considering what I'm hearing about it now lol. I still have a distinct memory of the last time I watched it. I dont know if this is all in my head or not, but you did mention the Dark Surfer so that's definitely not made up. I remember at the end of one episode, the Dark Surfer scatters the superheroes across the multiverse or something like that. As a kid, I was horrified. I didn't understand why Silver Surfer had gone bad and sent all the heroes away. Then I never saw the show on the TV again and I was stuck with this sad ending to me as a kid where the Silver Surfer, for reasons unknown to me, had become corrupted and turned on his allies. This is probably not the case but this was my reality. Thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane. :)
Yeah I didn't get into superheroes as a kid either. Even as a kid I was a little hipster and for some reason I thought superheroes were too mainstream (though I wouldn't have had that wording for it at the time lol). Ironically I didn't get into Marvel until The Avengers came out, and now that I'm a fan it actually is mainstream.

This is the most Underated Marvel show I have Seen.
This show does its 2 jobs for me: don’t bore me that I want to change the channel and don’t make me hate any of the main characters
