I have an SA 221 and I love it!! I have a backhoe on it I use for digging big rocks out of the lawn. It has a thumb on it that I use for cord wood. I can cut wood without putting my saw in the dirt. I have trails in the woods that were originally for the 4 wheeler. This tractor fits. I use it for yard work as well. The only thing I don't care for is, the big hydraulic filter that is low to the ground underneath in the back. I have to be careful what I driver over.
If I had one of those I could do 6 hours of sidewalks in 45 minutes!!! That’s why they make them so narrow like that it helps landscapers who do snow removal and need to get down narrow sidewalks
Gates. We are looking at buying a sub-compact tractor to do moving of dirt and gravel, grading drives, and mowing, both rough mowing and finish mowing. Getting from one area of our property to another means going through gates that are mostly 4 foot wide. We put in one that is 6 feet wide because we occasionally need to get a truck in there. My big concern is roll-over. We have a lot of slopes and would want to maximize stability. Looking for options or opinions on that.
The tractor may be 48 inches wide, but usually the mower is at least 54 inches wide or 60 inches wide for the cutting width, the mowers are actually wider than the cutting width. You’re not going to get through a 48 inch gate with those mowers.
So I actually need something under 48 inches of width because I work in people's yards and when they have fences the standard width of gates is 48 inches so I could easily enough drive this thing through the gate which makes my life so much easier
I agree , I really like this brand and they all seem well built and solid. I loved the Cub Cadet/Yanmar SC2400 and thought that was a great tractor. Boggles my mind why they would put a single speed in it instead of a two or three range transmission. Seems like they would clean up in sales with that and position control on the three point hitch.
@@beunbad depends on what your using it for and who is operating the machine, we have a small horse farm and the sa-221 is the bomb ! fits down the alley ways in the barn easily, and simple to operate my wife and kids use this tractor every day to do barn chores it is a 2018 I bought it new and it now had almost 600 hrs on it, never once have we had any mechanical issues, all I have ever done to it is regular maintains i.e oil & filters and grease. we have the 60 inch belly mower for it so it doubles as our lawn tractor as well, loader is better than you may think as well I have picked up a hay round bale with it and bale weighs 900 to 1000 lbs, not going to lie , it was a little sketchy and would not recommend doing that on a regular basis, but I was in a pinch with my bigger machine down. overall I would recommend this machine to anyone and I would buy another one in a heart beat.

Great video. Got my YT359 a few weeks ago. 100% satisfied no complaints
Excellent educational video on this model. My wife and are looking into one and the details and pluses/minuses are informative.
Excellent video!😎

Talk about mower decks as most will use them
Will this tractor run a tiller or would I need one with high and low range trans?
You won't find many 221 tractors anymore, mostly the 223 which does have that high and low
Oh ya yeeee
So the diff lock, do you have to hold the brake pedal in? Or just push and release?
Push it on about a 1/4 of the way and lock with the hand latch. It will lock both wheels without holding the brake
Isn't it 25hp and above?
It is
Yep
you need to up your volume 300 %

Most implements are wider than the tractor
Is that a quick disconnect bucket?
Yes it is
too bad the 221 does not have low range seems like it would be less stress on the trans. i use low range a lot on my bx2370.

Deal breaker for me as well.
if i had it to do over again i wouild take the yanmar 221 but there are no yanmar dealers near me.
Why on earth would you not offer low range 🤦
Love t0 have it
The second I saw those valves I knew I could never use this tractor. It is a little offensive that such a feature is not standard.
A third of this video is the narrator telling you he's going to tell you about something later in the video. 🤦♂️
Lol 😆 we try not to do that now! 😅
