    Wow I though this was just some dude's channel but is the actual skywatcher official channel! It's pretty cool to have long reviews and tutorials to know what to expect from your products (specially if im paying more than $600 lol) I'm a big fan of this brand!

    “Maybe an idea there….” The wisest words ever spoken! Everyone wants a legit imaging mount this size, the cheapest competitor costs $4K, and all you’d have to do is tweak this a bit and double the price. Just make it! In the meantime, you’re right about beginners - this is for people who wouldn’t use a polar scope or a guide port if you gave it to them. But this mount + ASIAIR Plus is a really nice imaging rig that will guide reasonably well right up to the weight limit. Love the mount, wish you’d make a purpose-built EQ version of it!

      Agreed 100% They’re sitting on top of potentially the greatest selling product never made.

      Yes! Well said! @Sky-Watcher: please listen what your (happy) users say! You have a product for $400 which has a potential to compete with others products which currently cost 10x of this if you pay attention what the community says and fix a few things. There is a 130 pages discussion thread about this mount on CN. I hope you recognise this chance!

    Thanks, very informative. Just received my AZ-GTi with Celestron Mak and mounted scope upright, but elevation worked backwards. Need to do the right-arm EQ FW upgrade. Nothing in the supplied pamphlet spelled out left versus right arm.
    Question? Looks like if I buy the Skywatcher 127 Mak, the scope is set up for left arm mount and you don’t have left-arm EQ FW right ? Thanks again

    Would this mount be ok for the 130pds? i would prefer the 130pds over the 130ps for the focuser and colimation etc

    Awesome video and I plan on to finish watching it but since I’m at work, can someone please explain the difference between the AZ-GTi vs AZ-GTe? I am completely new and plan on hooking up my Nikon Z6 with a Sigma 60-600 lens. Probably 4.5kg setup

    • @SkyWatcherUSA

      AZ-GTi has Freedom Find encoders and an AZ clutch. If you are planning to mod it into EQ mode you have to go with the GTi.

    Might you have a video detailing how to replace the standard mount saddle with the ADM saddle you feature in the section on accessories (44:40)

    • @SkyWatcherUSA
      @SkyWatcherUSA  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We do not have a video. But to do so you need to remove the white adhesive cover from the middle of the saddle to reveal the screws. Remove the screws and saddle. Install the ADM saddle.
      You may need to check with ADM to see if they have install instructions.

    When I try to star align on EQ mode with my az gti it only shows me stars that are very low on my horizon (i'm in southern hemisphere btw). I've checked time and location settings they're correct. In my location i'm not able to see stars close to the horizon so it's difficult to set up properly. Any pointers anyone?

    My 8yo daughter is getting into doing astronomy live streams, but her mount (an LXD55 in alt/az) is on it's last legs. Due to finances I would need to crowd fund a replacement, and would probably have to go with a used mount. I've narrowed it down to the older iOptron Cube, or a used AZ/GTe or GTi. Having used an EQ6-R, I'm leaning towards the GTe or GTi. As she would be controlling the mount with a PC from a fixed location, is there any real world advantage to getting the GTi over the GTe?

    • @SkyWatcherUSA
      @SkyWatcherUSA  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there, the GTe doesn't have an AZ clutch so you can't do the EQ modification that users of the GTi have been hacking in recent years. So if she might want to get into imaging you would want to go with the i version. Also note, Sky-Watcher USA provides tech support to second hand owners of SW gear in the US and Canada, just FYI.

    • @lokifishmarz

      @@SkyWatcherUSA Thanks for the reply. So it looks like the GTi would be the best choice then. Now I just need to try and crowdfund the mount so she can continue to do her live streams, and eventually host public events for her school. If crowdfunding works out, here's an example of what the astro community has to look forward to.

    Hi - what is the difference between the GTi and the GTe ?

    • @SkyWatcherUSA
      @SkyWatcherUSA  ปีที่แล้ว

      The GTi has Freedom Find encoders and the GTe does not, making it less expensive. Freedom Find allows you to loosen the clutches and move the mount around manually without losing alignment.

    Need help. I just purchased the skymax 127 az GTi and the calibration is not very accurate. I leveled the tripod and scope and it will not locate objects in the sky accurately. Kind of disappointed because I’m always having to manually move the scope to its target. I use the 3 star alignment. Getting frustrated with it. I’m starting to think these computer models are for marketing sales.

      Have you leveled the tube and aimed it North? That is the starting point for the AZGTi. If you are still having issues please reach out to support@skywatcherusa.com.
