I recently rented a Grand Cherokee Limited 4x2 for an entire week while visiting out-of-town. I came away extremely impressed. The V-6 is a great engine if you use it mostly as a commuter but need occasional towing power, such as a small camper. I didn't get the Limited X, but my Limited edition came equipped with the Luxury Package which included ventilated front seats. As you note, it is very competitive with other makes.
Best reviews on the web IMHO. Thanks Raiti's ride. After years of BMW and insane repair costs, I am seriously thinking Jeep. And I will add, many of my X5 owning friends are going the same way.
Although I don’t have the X I do have a 2019 Grand Cherokee Limited and I really like it! Has a nice peppy six cylinder in it gets halfway decent mileage and a very comfortable ride and interior.
the cool thing is you can basically turn a limited into a trailhawk with options. We're looking at a 2019 limited at the moment that has the air suspension, lsd, the 5.7, and quadradrive. Including the factory tow package with upgrading cooling and the luxury 2 package
Gotta zonk!!! You again lol Wrong specs about the horsepower and torque smh..... it’s 295 horsepower and 260 lbs ft of torque. And the towing is 6200 not 7000....
Theres nothing wrong with the pentastar. I have wrangler with the 3.6L pentastar. Got it with 3 miles now it is 212,475 miles. It still works. Original starter, water pump, etc .Regular maintenance performed. Underpowered? Depends what you using it for .
i have a 2015 Jeep GC Summit California package. Nothing has changed on these things since 2011 for the most part. Better transmission along the way.. bits and pieces to keep it going but it's time for a redesign. No one should buy a new one as a total redesign is coming shortly. I had a 2012 before my 2015 and would buy a third one in a row, but i'm really hoping to pull off a new Aviator for my next SUV..
I have one 300HP and with stage 2 (borla exhaust ,air intake and evc) have 320HP and it look a like an SRT package..im just waiting for the supercharge and It will be a nicer ride than a SRT for less money..
The V6’s in these have a refined sound compared to other V6 engines I’ve heard/driven. I wish I had the HEMI in mine, though. I have the older 6 speed from 2011. The 8spd makes them feel a little faster at take-off.
I had a 2012 gc with the 6 speed for 5 years. Finally had to get rid of it because the horrible shifts. Got an older 4 runner then drove a 2018 gc with the 8 speed with the same engine and couldn’t believe it was the same engine. It completely changes the car. Now I want a gc again haha
I have a 21 wrangler rubicon but my sister just got this exact Jeep only 21 and I have to say it’s so much better looking than the avg limited the video doesn’t even do it justice an absolutely beautiful jeep
I have a 2015 limited with the luxury package I believe and I absolutely LOVE IT but I do want this model with this color. For the price and the features this thing has it should have vent-elated seats.
I personally would be pretty upset if I spent money on a Trackhawk, and a lesser cost and performing model sported the same unique hood, etc. The Grand Cherokee is drastically in need of a redesign. Long term reliability needs to improve also.

3 things I dislike about mine..... 1) every camaro/mustang/challenger notices thinks its an SRT and wants to race 2) the seat memory is in a crappy place! 3) the auto stop/start is going to get me killed. I'd like to shut it off forever without having to push the button.(i forget ALL the time). other than that I get 20.4 mpg everyday driving my center console is different. 1 don't have the class ring holder. this must be a 2wd
Back when I was in the market for an SUV I test drove a diesel-powered Grand Cherokee with the zf 8 speed transmission and that transmission tune was terrible with jerky/hard shifting. Why is the same transmission in my bmw x3 buttery smooth? The one I test drove had leather interior and I was not very impressed with the quality of interior. Looked cheap to me and that cost over 50,000 as I recall. I also know for a time that Chrysler was having a lot of troubles with the ZF transmission in some of their vehicles not sure they worked those problems out but it's a great Transmission with other OEMs.
I drive an 08 GC Limited with a hemi thats lifted with 32's and 2016 wrangler rubicon wheels, love it to death. Back then the 5.7 only made 330hp and 360 torque, and of course got worse fuel economy, but it made the power (and especially torque) MUCH lower than the 3.6, so its still worth it. Back in the day the only engine offered with the limited was the hemi, but I guess fuel economy standards have pushed them towards making it an upgrade and not standard. The pentastar 3.6 is a good little engine, unlike the 3.7 it replaced. The only issue on the 3.6 is it slugs a bit, having the power up so high with the weight of the vehicle, I feel for any luxury trim you need a hemi just so it moves effortlessly when you hit the gas. Edit: the interior layout didn't change much at all, just the arrangement of the buttons on the center controls and the size of the screen. Its amazing how ahead of its time the GC has always been, even today (considering this current gen was introduced in 2012). The home outlet in the rear has been there since at least 08 Let me tell ya, I wanted to upgrade to a bigger vehicle this year, but then I heard the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are getting revived to be tahoe/suburban competitors, being proper body on frame and potentially the first 7.0 hemi users, so I have to wait till 2021 now. I would kill for a bigger more capable jeep suv. Hell even if it had the detuned 6.4 ram uses in the heavy duty trucks, I'd still buy it in a heartbeat.
Does this jeep limited do not have terrain selector? Isnt that cubbie space supposed to be for that? And, does this trim comes with an air suspension? Just want to know. Thanks.
