    THE BASICS:
    Year: 2019
    Make: Jeep
    Model: Grand Cherokee
    Trim: Limit
    Extra: 4x4
    Type: 4-door mid-sized SUV
    Color: Velvet Red Pearl
    MSRP: $41,190
    Uconnect 4C NAV with 8.4-Inch Display
    $150 extra for a full-size spare tire.
    UNDER THE HOOD:
    Engine: 3.6 L V6 24 Value VVT Engine
    Transmission: 8-Speed Automatic Transmission
    Horsepower: 295 horsepower @ 6400 rpms
    MPG City: 18
    MPG Highway: 25
    Combined MPG: 21
    Fuel Tank Capacity: 24.6 gallons
    Cost for a full tank: $2.95/gallon x 24.6 = $72.57
    HANDLING:
    + Wheels: 18-Inch Aluminum Wheels
    + Felt solid. Very stable. Comfortable ride.
    ACCELERATION:
    + Excellent. You really feel the 295 hp. The vehicle is responsive, sounds great, and is pretty fun to drive.
    FINAL THOUGHTS:
    Great SUV. Fun to drive, great touch screen, excellent storage space. My only complaint is that it doesn't have any fun drive assist tech. For $40k+, I kind of want the most up to date toys to play with...like adaptive cruise control, auto high beam dimming, and lane assistant tech.

    The loaded up Grand Cherokees are genuinely luxurious.

      Agreed. The seats are particularly nice. I didn't mention this in my review, but the seats are super wide. It's kind of nice.

    • @jeepguy95

      They get even more luxurious than this Limited... for example, an Overland or Summit (or even SRT or SRT Trackhawk) gets optional parallel and perpendicular park assist, higher-end, softer, non-grainy plastic dashboard material that is even "stitched", wood trim on the steering wheel, higher-quality leather, an optional 18-speaker sound system, and sometimes more sound deadening. Also on a Laredo you CAN"T get ANY other engine other than a 3.6L V6. You MUST step up to a Limited to get a V8 or Diesel. Diesels aren't even available anymore for 2019 on the Grand Cherokee. But you CAN equip a Limited with options such as ventilated AND heated front seats, driver assistance technology, a panoramic moonroof, 20" wheels, and other luxury goodies. My 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited has the single moonroof, 20" wheels, and GPS navigation (now standard on 2019 models). :)

    That digital speedometer screen will also show directions if the GC is equipped with navigation. A very cool presentation. More vehicles should have that. Thanks for the upload! 115 degrees in Phoenix today, I'll trade you for that 89 degrees! 😉

      @jeepguy95 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This one would've been... all Grand Cherokees Limited trim and up have GPS navigation as standard equipment beginning in 2019... the 7", NON-nav display is reserved for Laredo models, and the 8.4" NON-nav display was discontinued in 2018. :)

    Awesome!!! You FINALLY reviewed MY car (well, a newer version of it)!!! The Enterprise version doesn't have 20" wheels like my 2014, but it DOES have ventilated seats up front and plenty of safety stuff that mine doesn't. The price for this one is actually around $46k with options. My 2014 Limited was $41k in 2014, and has the 20" wheels, navigation, and sunroof as its only options. A new GC is due out next year, and we could see it as early as the 2019 LA Auto Show in November. The GC is awesome on gas, we just took ours on summer vacation last month, and we didn't use a whole lot of gas! Reliable, too (ours has 126k miles and runs great)! :)

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      126,000 miles? Nice! And I love the GC too. I wish Enterprise would start buying more of these. I used to get them all the time and now it's a super rare rental for me. So, did I do your car justice in my review?

    • @disneyfan9099
      @disneyfan9099 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      100 Rental Cars They tend to save the GC for airport customers and for National customers

    • @jeepguy95
      @jeepguy95 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@disneyfan9099 That would actually be incorrect. Availability usually depends on what the individual locations have reservations for, or what is brought back to them (i.e. one-way rentals). For example, my local Enterprise and Avis/Budget (both down the street from one another) regularly have GC's. Yes, they DO reserve SOME vehicles for airports (i.e. luxury cars, sports cars, and the like), but the GC is classified as an SFAR (Standard SUV), and pretty much all rental companies and their locations rent SFAR's. Although I DO see more Limiteds than Laredos at the non-airport locations. Most local locations tend to get more "loaded" models... not just of GC's, but ALL vehicles.

    • @jeepguy95
      @jeepguy95 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@100RentalCars I think you did an awesome job covering the best parts of the GC. And yes, 126k miles... I bought it with 53k in 2016 (it's a 2014 model year) and do a lot of highway driving. We took it on vacation this summer and put about 350 or so miles with the 3 hour trip each way and once we got there. :)

    I was in Kansas City/Topeka last month, and I had the opportunity to take "anything" from the row at Alamo, so rather than a mid-size sedan, I decided to try out a Grand Cherokee Limited 4x2 and had it for 8 days. It came with the Luxury Group, so that added heated/ventilated seats. I was very impressed by it. The V-6 is a nice sweet spot between power and fuel economy. If you don't regularly have to load up the GC or tow a large trailer, the GC with V-6 will still haul a good bit when necessary but not drive you broke at the gas station. Regarding the UConnect system, I had some trouble getting the Bluetooth to connect with my iPhone; to get CarPlay to work, I needed to adjust some settings that did not automatically take effect, and I also had to get a genuine Apple Thunderbolt cable to make it work, but once I got it going, it was great. Both the Mute and especially the Screen Off buttons were very useful.

    Honestly who needs lane assist and other nanny alarms in a car? I get the reverse camera, front/rear sensors and blind spot monitoring but they are getting out of hand with all this stuff now IMO... its just adding more cost to these cars and most people never use them or just complain about all the lights or beeping from them. I recently bought a Nissan but i'll be damned if the Dodge/Jeep/Chrylser U-Connect isn't the best infotainment system out there (not including "Luxury cars" like Audi which is impressive)... but for your typical American/Japanese cars U-Connect has the best layout, biggest screens and they are designed into the dash unlike most cars now where they just look like a complete afterthought and just gluing a small tablet to the dash. great review, i love the look of that Grand Cherokee and the amenities you went over. I owned 2 Cherokee's in the 90's and a Grand Cherokee in 06' and back then the dash/infotainment was so bad but i guess they were all pretty bad in the early/mid 2000's. Looks like the 2019+ models across the board in almost all brands/models are finally to the point where they are actually kind of impressive. Now if they were all Apple Airplay and Android compatible... how thats not a standard app in all cars today kind of surprises me.

    • @JBM425
      @JBM425 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      20 or 30 years ago, I might have made the same statement. Now that I'm over 60, I appreciate those features. My neck/spine are not as flexible as they used to be, so it can be a paint to be constantly turning my head checking traffic. Having the BSM and RCTA are extremely handy, and the Lane Departure Warning is great when I feel a bit tired. I use that as a signal that perhaps I should stop at the next exit, get some fresh air, and get some coffee.

    My daughter has a 2018, and you are correct. It's a horrible job to get car seats in and out of the back. Much easier on my Murano where the hooks are not buried so deeply.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh good, I'm always worried when I say something like that without actually testing it, that I'm giving bad info. My life's changed a bit of late, so I'll have more time with my rentals now. I'm thinking of actually trying to install a car seat every time. ...it won't be fun fore, but hopefully it'll be useful for others. And maybe entertaining to watch me struggle.

    • @JBM425
      @JBM425 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is one of those "different strokes" things . In my case, the seat anchor system doesn't matter because I don't have children. However, my niece has four children, so that is absolutely important for her and others who do have children, so I can see how that can be a major feature or deal killer for car buyers with families.

      ACHonez they don’t las long, but if you like a car and you wanna have it you can but I wouldn’t recommend having it or buying it after 80-100k miles, you can own an unreliable car that you like but don’t own it for too long lol
      My dream car is a Charger and I hate the Chrysler reliability, so what I’m planning on doing is buying it low miles, enojoying it for a while and then change it for something else

      Fiat/Chrysler has great reliability, I've owned a ton of them and never had an issue. I brought one Toyota, Honda, ans Subaru and they all had big issues. Buy one don't listen to anybody, they're reliable if you care about them. Like all cars, you don't care, the car has issues.

    • @JBM425
      @JBM425 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Grand Cherokee actually does pretty well in reliability ratings because FCA hasn't been updating it every other year, so while that means that competitors may seem to look "fresher," they have managed to work a lot of the bugs out of the GC over time.

    Extremely well done video! Wanted to point out a couple of things. Just bought a 2020 Grand Cherokee Overland, and it has the lane departure feature as an add on, along with other features like the ability to raise and lower the car. Also, I didn't know this before, but the Grand Cherokee models with the hemi engine don't have the stop/start feature that I'm not a fan of anyway. I am in heaven with my new car!

    • @JBM425
      @JBM425 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I drive a Toyota Avalon Hybrid at home, so when I rented a 2020 Grand Cherokee on a recent trip, the Start/Stop system didn't bother me a lot. That's essentially what hybrids do: at a stop, it works on battery power, and when you accelerate, the gas engine kicks in.

    I had this car as a rental a few months ago but mine was gray with fl tags on it it had 7,700 miles on it I loved the car i will trade my 13 grand cherrokee with 134,780 miles on it next year i will most likely get another grand cherrokee but my gf has been nagging me to get an suv with 3 rows of seats but I don’t have a need for one or want but if i get the grand cherrokee my gf will get an atlas Durango or kia telluride I also had a 2018 model laredo in white as part of my rental car voucher when my flight from Baltimore to Detroit was cancelled and my boss needed me in Detroit urgently so i took the rental car voucher got to the enterprise at the Baltimore Washington thurgood marshall airport rental car facility this was my first time using the enterprise at the Baltimore airport I’ve only used national hertz and budget in Baltimore anyways, the attendant brought out three vehicles a Mitsubishi Mirage which I didn’t want a Dodge Grand Caravan gt with 23,000 miles with mud on the exterior i took the caravan just as i was leaving the rental facility the attendant stopped me and said no no no I asked why and she said the tags are expired and that’s how I got my Jeep. I might use the enterprise at Baltimore Washington airport if only they have more cars available and less cars with expired registration because I have tried renting at the enterprise at bwi but they either have very little and the cars they do have always have expired registration. I frequently travel to Baltimore and Detroit for work as I actually live in fl.

      After sitting in a Durango and driving it (briefly... I work for a dealership), the Durango is slightly "sportier" and less "luxurious", but that's what they're after, being Dodge is FCA's "Sport Brand", and the Jeep Grand Cherokee is considered "Near Luxury". The Dodge has a louder exhaust, the doors have a more pronounced "thunk" in the Dodge, there's a bit more storage space in the front center console of the Dodge, and the spare tire is underneath the Dodge instead of right in the cargo area of the Jeep. There IS a lot of "parts sharing", however, as the Dodge and Jeep are both built at JNAP (Jefferson North Assy.) in Detroit.

      @@patricktravelandcarvlogs680 I would recommend a 4WD depending on where you live, as well as at least a Limited trim with the 5.7L HEMI just for fun. You can get the High Altitude Edition with the 5.7L V8 it's essentially an Altitude with a few more luxury goodies. Of course, you CAN'T go wrong with ANY Grand Cherokee trim, as you get a lot of stuff for a good deal if you look at a 2-year off-lease model like I did. :)

    • @sshaver2302
      @sshaver2302 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the Prius. I'm not so sure about the more recent style, as it seems a little too modern for me. I've heard the newer Sedonas are great and comfortable. I currently have a 2015 Impala Limited (So, it's actually the older 2012-2013 bodystyle, which makes it confusing!). I commute about 65 miles one way and have owned it since mid-2016, so I'm at about 155k miles now. Going back to the 2018 Malibu review, it may be my next choice if I could find a black, GM Certified Warranty and the LT trim. Due to finances and my car still running well *knock on wood*, going to hold onto the Impala for now. Thanks again for these reviews!

    The cx9 grand touring includes 360 cam, front/ rear park sensors/ tailgate warning, power fold mirrors, 20in rims, chrome trim, 12 speaker Bose, and a few other things I may have missed. The grand Cherokee tech package is 2,500 more.

      One thing you need to take into consideration is towing. If you aren't towing anything (or at least anything more than 3,000 pounds), the CX-9 might be more appealing. If you do have a need for towing in the 6,000 to 7,000 range, you'll definitely want the Grand Cherokee (select the V-6 or V-8 depending on how much you have to tow).

      @@airion23 10 years is still a long time to go without a redesign... the GC is behind the times in terms of some technology... no kick under lift-gate, no surround view camera system, and some safety stuff is also missing... but the GC is still a great vehicle with all it DOES offer (I own one).

    HAHAHA! A button to push if parked on a hill? HAHAHA! That is the extremely common icon for Hill Descent Control! That's why it has a speedometer icon above. It causes the ABS system to maintain a walking pace when going downhill so you don't lose control and slide off or gain too much speed. This is the second clueless review of yours I've watched. And the last.

    Parking brake pedal !!!!! SUCKS !!

    • @cageordie
      @cageordie ปีที่แล้ว

      Parking brake is almost useless. I have the diesel and you hardly notice if you drive off with it on, which is why there's an alarm. I have no confidence it would hold you on a hill. Every other vehicle I have owned in 40 years has had a parking brake that would actually hold against the engine.

    • @michaelfinley9988
      @michaelfinley9988 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      More BS about reliability. Jeeps and FCA products are pretty darn reliable. I’ve owned several and never had any issues with any of them. They are great vehicles.

    • @JBM425
      @JBM425 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some FCA cars have a well-earned bad reputation. Not the Grand Cherokee. In fact, those are probably the best, in part because they don't make radical changes every couple of years and thus have managed to work out most of the bugs over time.
