This style/design has been around since 2014. It still looks very modern and timeless today. Very timeless design, and way ahead of its time. We had a 2014 Summit, and now have a 2018 High Altitude. Absolutely love it.
I know this video is 4 years old now however, I bought my 2020 Grand Cherokee Altitude in 2020, my wife drove it once and fell in love, so much so that she traded her Toyota Rav4 for one, and she loves it, I've had 4 Wranglers, but as my folks got older and I was doing more with them and taking them around I finally decided to go to the Grand Cherokee and love it and all the features, I've made my own modifications to it such as a performance exhaust(Flow master) to give it a little growl, I wanted to stay with the Magnaflow dual but it would've cost more to modify the rear bumper, plus looking at cost I went with flow master and one guy asked if it was an SRT, I told him no but the exhaust gives it that growl.
Im not the one actually driving the car, but my mom just got this car. Its gorgeous, the inside is amazing, and it is overall just a freaking awesome car. :)
How has the steering changed with the newer ones? I just sold my 2015 SRT, loved it BUT the steering in every mode was SO stiff - annoyingly difficulty to casually drive through a parking lot. Feel like I would jump on another if the newer steering was electrically boosted.
I bought my new 12' V6 because of the platform it shared with mercedes at the time (same platform started in 11'). I now have 94,000 miles on it and it still drives/looks like new with very little maintenance needed outside of oil changes and tires. Really solid and reliable vehicle.
I've had my limited x for nearly a year now. It is easily the best SUV I have driven. It was so nice for driving in the summer and now in the winter it is an absolute beast.
I just bought one. The same model and color and I love it! The comfort is amazing. I was looking forward to driving it in snow. We didn't get much in Ohio this. Oh well, here's to next year!
The Grand Cherokee is truly a unique SUV. Unibody, port injected naturally aspirated V6, ZF 8 speed with RWD option. Everything that screams refinement and reliability.
12:50 Quadra TRAC I is entry level system on lower trims. It does not have low range or front/rear LSD. Middle trims get you QT2 which is the same as QT1, but with a low range transfer case. QD2 is standard on the TrailHawk, and standard on the Summit with all engines but the base V6. QT2 works well enough with its BLD, even in situations where diagonal wheels are completely unweighted. QD2 is just a bit quicker to engage in the rear than QT2.
I have a 2014 Overland that I purchased new. This video just shows me what a good option that was way back then. Lots of technology that is still relevant, just missing Apple Carplay.
I've been wanting a Jeep since I was 13, but have always been nervous to buy one. I hear they have transmission issues and have terrible resale value. Have you noticed reliability issues or know anything about the resale value?
I have a 2017 JGC Limited, I love it. It is my favorite auto that I have owned to date. Great for a road trip and around the city. the V6 sounds good and the ZF transmission is fun when put in sport mode. If anything happened to this one, I'd buy another one, maybe the SRT next. I thought I'd end up with another Euro brand until I drove the Jeep.
@@qwiktips6804I have a GRAND Cherokee, not a Cherokee. The Cherokee is a Fiat 4 cylinder. The Grand Cherokee is larger and has the Pentastr V6. I only have about 30K on it, not one problem so far. The 2011 to 2020 are on the MBZ platform, same as the MBZ ML line. It is a pleasure to drive but it's a gas guzzler, I mean super thirsty. If you get one used be sure to get one with the ZF 8 speed, the prior trans had issues. The 2021 Grand Cherokee larger and is bases on the Alpha Romero platform.
Such a beautiful SUV. I have this exact color in the 2018 high altitude trim. For some reason I think the white with black trims really shows the true beauty of this SUV better than any of the other colors, IMO. When my lease is up I might go for the summit trim this time though.😊
I don’t own stock in Jeep, or own a dealership, or make any sales commissions. Lol. But I recommend the hell out of them. Mine is awesome!! Drives fantastic.
@@XxAlex530xX it depends on what the 2021 will look like. So far the Pacifica has a 10.1 inch infotainment , so that might be in the new Grand Cherokee and if they put the Dodge Ram 12.1 inch infotainment , then i wouldn't lease the 2020.
Interested to see what repairs you have had to make since owning it. How often have you had to change tires? I am going to purchase one and would love an honest opinion about the cost of ownership.
Just found your channel, I like how you describe the vehicle, your voice is easy to listen to. Finish of your video is professional, I like the graphics. As for the Jeep, this fall my current AWD Murano Platinum lease expires, so I will be shopping. I like the Grand Cherokee Limited X in red. Good job.
I like Grand Cherokee. I had 2018 one. Sold it because we got daughter delivered and we needed 7-seatser. Buy it was the best car i have ever had. Only Cybertruck is better :)
The v6 is quite good. I’d probably choose the v6. The zf 8 speed in the GC is just the best period. If I was completely nuts I’d take the trackhawk or SRT.
R L zf is a German company. Based in Germany. And as far as I know they are very good and reliable. I’d probably say the v6 GC and zf 8 speed would be more reliable than the Trackhawk with that same gearbox. Since less torque on the v6 is going through the transmission it means less stress even though it’s designed to handle 800hp in the dodge demon
@@robertdupree6940 My 2016 GC has excellent ride and handling. Yours must be exceptional. I just put a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires on it at 64,000 miles. I've had zero issues with this vehicle and will keep it for a while longer. Enjoy your new GC!
I think Jeep messed up with the limited X. It’s got an incredible looking exterior compared to some of the trim levels above. It should have been given summit treatment, or similar inside!
I ordered the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland loaded with drivers assistance package and the towing package with the V6 engine. Absolutely the best riding, safe, quiet, dependable, and comfortable car I have ever owned. I have ordered and driven many new cars, vans and trucks. Love the adaptatve cruise control, cross path detection, side alert, and leather ventilated and heated seats and wood steering wheel. I previously owned a well equipped GMC Yukon. Enjoyed that Yukon SUV, but only 12 to 14 mpg and didn't really need the extra interior space any longer, plus the Grand Cherokee is so much easier to park and see out the windows. When Jeep designed the 2011 jeep grand cherokee it was owned by Daimler who also owned Mercedes Benz, and feel that the Grand Cherokee may have had some of the the influence of the design team on the ML mercedes mid sized SUV. I looked at both the Mercedes that year and chose the Jeep. Now, in 2020 Mercedes has introduced the GLE SUV. It is amazing. I hope Jeep doesn't go backwards with the Fiat platform. I am looking for more autonomous self-driving features and the next level of comfort and luxury in the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland
I have a 2019 HA same color as this one. I only wish I had those rims instead of what come with it. Don’t get me wrong I like the but I painted the calipers red and these would look sick.
I absolutely miss my Overland. I can't do the gas otherwise I'd get another, no questions asked. Instead, I'm looking into a compass... With that said! Please do a compass review! I wish you had one already as I'm days away from getting it.
I have a 2018 high altitude in white. There are 3 things that I don't like about the jeep. 1. If you have a child seat in the back, reaching the seat belt buckle is a pain. Its recessed into the seat. I am looking for a seat belt extender. 2. The trunk space is small compared to other mid size SUV's 3. I have an Iphone connected to the car's apple play. This requires a cable to run from the small storage cubby under the climate control panel. There is no run through for the cable and the storage cubby with the 2 USB ports has to remain open the whole time. The Uconnect system is a bit slow, but i understand that was improved for the 2019 year. Overall, I am very happy with the jeep. Looking forward to what the 2021 JGC will have in store.
It shifts sooner with eco on. (On the highway it does nothing) I've noticed no difference in gas mileage with it on except sluggish acceleration. I keep mine off!
I have a older Jeep.....I keep hearing the newer ones dont last as long.....so I keep my older one! It rarely ever needs work, only small cheap regular type maintenance :-) Of course I havent owned a newer one so I dont know for sure....but I'll probably keep it til it starts costing too much. So far its pretty reliable for a old vehicle and still has plenty of power! :-)
Having to go through the radio to change from vents to floor/vents is annoying. Having to go through he radio to hit max A/C is annoying. Paddle shifters can be bumped, putting it in standard shift. The cruise control and the menu buttons need to be swapped. The V6 transmission can be clunky. Other than that, there are far more pro's for owning one than there are cons. Still, I believe I prefer the Cherokee Limited over the Grand Cherokee Limited.
This model's years are from 2011 to 2022. The last ones are being produced now. You can still buy them - Laredo E, Laredo X, Laredo X Altitude, and Limited X. 0% financing for 4 years plus a discount.
I have the same 8.4" screen on my 2020 award winning RAM 1500 which leads the highly competitive truck segment in interior design and is growing rapidly in market share in a highly brand loyal market. I actually chose it over the 12" screen to get more physical knobs and less driving distraction. The 12" might have showroom/Internet Wow factor, but might be overkill and not necessarily a reason to hold out for a next gen Grand Cherokee.
Best-looking SUV on the market. I would not trust Stellantis' quality control, reliability, or durability, but it's a good-looking vehicle. Lease, but not buy.
These are so sexy! The interiors are amazing. I took one for a test drive and was amazed how quiet it was. 👌🏽 Soon as this pandemic is over ill be picking up one of these!👍🏽
I have a Hemi 5.7 grand cherokee 2012. Has 54k miles, never miss an oil change and has serious engine problems, i mean serious.(lifters and cam) I went to a certified Dodge and he states if a very common problem... It will cost about 4,5k to repair. Dont buy Dodge/ Chrysler. Do your search first ...
The new interior designs lookin good on 2022 models hell friggin yeah so far I still dig the 2017 one better but we’ll see when it’s not hidden shadows we’ll be in eventually
I have a 2017 GC Trailhawk and had a 2011 Summit, both with the V6. Loved the 2011 Summit and did the White Rim Road in Canyonlands in it on AT tires. The 2017 with the V6, the ZF 8 speed and 18 inch wheels is really the perfect combination. The things is great on the road and I drove the Elephant Hill Rd in it. For those who don’t know Elephant Hill is the hardest off road trail in Canyonlands. They could improve on the interior but overall what other vehicle is great on road and can do extreme off-road for $50kish?
Each time look like is more and more as regular SUV as others in the market and less Jeep that hard vehicle for all terrain good for towing if necessary, strong 4x4 ...just my humble opinion ! I have a 2019 Dodge Journey Crossroad AWD and a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited.

Is that a GoPro being used for the front cabin video capture?
Sweeet the 2020s look great 👍
The new interior designs lookin good on 2022 models hell friggin yeah so far I still dig the 2017 one better but we’ll see when it’s not hidden shadows we’ll be in eventually
Nice car and model intrasting
Pretty Jimmy SUV I got it’s hella amazing
I have a 2017 GC Trailhawk and had a 2011 Summit, both with the V6. Loved the 2011 Summit and did the White Rim Road in Canyonlands in it on AT tires. The 2017 with the V6, the ZF 8 speed and 18 inch wheels is really the perfect combination. The things is great on the road and I drove the Elephant Hill Rd in it. For those who don’t know Elephant Hill is the hardest off road trail in Canyonlands. They could improve on the interior but overall what other vehicle is great on road and can do extreme off-road for $50kish?
Did you tell the listener what engine you had in this model?
Waiting for the redesign to come on sale in 2020
EXCELLENT. A1. Topnotch.
Those tabs in the trunk by the way is for grocery bags so they dont slide all over the place when your cargo net is full of other groceries.
