      Why Patents are meaningless unless you have money to defend them, China ignores them, and thus anyone in the world can circumvent your patent claim.

    • @turbochevelle5641
      @turbochevelle5641 5 ปีที่แล้ว +228

      That's why before you patent it you copyright domestic and international the method of manufacture all the way up to method of use and every step in between. After it is iron clad with copyright then you file for utility patent both domestic and international and if anyone makes it, uses it as your copyright method of use covers etc. You get paid. Of course you'll have to get legal representation to handle all that but it is about the best way to cover yourself. Needful and useful changes I wouldn't think can touch this because there isn't much to change.

    • @zekiah2
      @zekiah2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +106

      Turbo Chevelle problem is international laws don’t apply in China they will just do it anyway

    • @turbochevelle5641
      @turbochevelle5641 5 ปีที่แล้ว +83

      @@zekiah2 sure they do lol.... do they steal intellectual property yes but I can assure you that international patent law does in fact exist in China and so does UCC (Uniform Commercial Code). I'm guessing you've never conducted international business and are just regurgitating what you heard from someone else. Hell there are people in the US that steal patent ideas all the time, if money is involved you can bet your idea will be stolen sooner or later. It is common practice for a company to come out with new tech and then competitors let them work all the bugs out and prove the concept only to swoop in and make a couple "needful and useful changes" and patent their own and it's perfectly legal.

      There are numerous weak points, the bolts are the least of your worries. Check the video at 52 seconds in and to get some idea of what will happen to the stability of the bracket "ring" when one or more strut-to-bracket connections fail for any reason. A simple (cheap) hub made from a short section of 3" steel or aluminium tube with holes drilled in the sides wont twist or deform in that situation because it isnt reliant on the struts to maintain its circular integrity.

If your opportunity to diminish is based on truth, you feel justified because you are "just being honest" but in reality youd probably take chances that aren't rooted in truth too because that's a cheap alternative to getting the opportunity to diminish that you will take if there isn't even any real fact to whatever bullshit you are about to vomit

Mining and tunneling used it way back then and some RV's and campers use them for the fold out awnings and collapsible frame tenting/portable work structures use something like this on their pivots.

    • @Geo-Dome

      Yes, you use what you have until you can buy something proper, I use button head stainless screws now.

    • @joshhayl7459
      @joshhayl7459 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ Paul Robinson,
      🔵 Stainless steel screws are okay as long as they don't react corrosively with the material of the bracket, also, You'd probably be better off with a ( thick-headed) Torx or poly-drive washer-head or truss-head type screw than a button-head, The wider the head the better in order to dissipate stress over a greater area.
      Also, 'Self-locking'-nuts ('Nylok' is my personal favorite], or 'Staked' or 'Stressed'-type-nuts MUST be used in an application like this to prevent the brackets from coming un-done from each other.
      I'm SO glad to see that you drilled pilot holes for something like this, as you'd be surprised how many 'Seemingly-knowledgeable' people would just drive a screw right into the end of a support like that and compromise the Integrity of the lumber by splitting the heck out of it because they didn't drill a proper pilot-hole. About your design though, XLNT idea and execution!!... I wore several hats in Aerospace over the course of several decades and I can see other applications for it as well, in my opinion it should become standard-Hardware available in an assortment of materials and size ratios in Home Depot, Lowe's Etc. by the bucket full!!.....
      Protect-it!!! (patent) and promote the HECK out of it where EVERYONE (especially Contractors) who doesn't know they need it yet will see it. I've seen SO many great products die as a result of lack of promotion in the 'Right places'.
      ...... I would say "Good luck" but I really don't think you need 'Luck',....I just think you have an excellent product here with a design that speaks for itself!
      I sincerely hope this makes you a VERY wealthy man, as it's certainly a VERY worthy idea!
