I have always loved this man, I fell for him in the Anne movies when I was ten years old and still break them out all the time. My mother introduced me to the movies and they are one of my best memories of her now that she's gone.. I think I've been looking for my Gilbert my whole life. Rest In Peace Mr. Crombie. The Avril Atonement story when Diana Barry says "Yes I did enter you.." I love the confidence and friendship Diana had to help Anne when she didn't think she would ever be published. 3. In Anne of Avonlea (The book) and love story of Miss Lavendar and Stephen Irving and how Anne brought them together.... I love the heart Miss Lavendar had, youthful in early middle age (If you haven't read the book do yourself a favor at least listen to them by Karen Savage on Librivox, You can thank me later :-) 4. Finally, when Anne FINALLY relents when Gilbert says "Can't we friends...." after rescuing "The Lady of Shalott" I never got a chance to meet any of the cast but my dream is to go Prince Edward Island (I traveled there via Google maps, very cool!) and walk around Green Gables, see the Lake of Shining Water and The Avenue....
Wow you are a devoted fan, I like those scenes too. It looks like Jon wanted to crack up when Anne got stuck up again after he rescued her in that boat. Regarding your crush on Megan, I bet a lot of women were envious of her due to her being romantic with Jon. I never had a crush on him, but thought he was cute. I was a teen when the show premiered. It is hard 30 years have gone by. Thanks for telling me about the book.

My sisters and I would take out the VHS series from the library every summer. At one point, 2 pigeons got inside our apt stairwell and built a nest. We called them Anne and Gilbert. And the. They had 2 babies. But then the superintendent of the apt building found it one day and just threw it all I the garbage. Eggs and all. We were really sad about it. We felt special for those 2 to have chosen to live where they did. Like they knew they could trust us. :(... Anyway. Condolences.

Ya know 2015 is not my year. In March my grandmother died and Anne of Green Gables were our thing my cousins too. So my grandmother dying killed me and took almost all the heart I have away. So hearing this on a peaceful April Vacation Day in Florida I was like "Great. Anyone else??"
Gil wasn't my first crush but he was one of the first. It goes Uncle Jesse(John Stamos) then Gil. I knew from the start that the hatred was covering for love. Such a tragic loss. Thoughts and prayers going to his family and all the acting friends especially Anne(Meghan Follows). 😔😊
