This movie is coming from a dark place it's supposed to feel creepy.
People quickly loose sight of who the Joker really is. He’s a psychotic madman that kills indiscriminately on a whims notice without cause or reason. Creepy should be the shallow part of the pool of expectations once you strip away the cheese and the made-for-children factor. Once deconstructed, no one’s acceptance of someone like the Joker should ever feel comfortable.

The problem with people who didn't get this trailer at all, is because they're fanboys of the actual superheroes movies or forgot what the REAL CINEMA is about: Story telling + Art on a screen. Period.
This shows how you went crazy became the clown Prince of Crime and also that kid that was Bruce Wayne
this is something else entirely , it's not connected to the DCEU but Jared Leto is out as the Joker too though ... whoever Matt Reeves cast as his Joker will be the one who is connected to the DCEU ... this one is just a elseworlds story where Bruce Wayne is a kid( the boy who Joaquin put a smile on his face ) and Thomas & Martha Wayne are still alive ( Thomas Wayne was the man on tv talking about what kind of coward hides behind a mask )
i'm curious if this story will depict Joker as Thomas and Martha Wayne's murderer similar to Batman '89 version

I think this looks brilliant.
I will say y'all are gonna have to abandon the loud summer blockbuster type stuff y'all might've been expecting this to be. This feels like something that is gonna be very personal and really dark along the lines of American Psycho or something and I think it should be. I highly doubt there's gonna be people flipping off rooftops or that kind of stuff here.
I dunno what that mess was with Jared Leto but I can guarantee if he pops back up as the Joker it'll be a heavily retooled version because he was almost universally loathed.
I mean, this is meant to be a anti-comic book movie.

This is not part of the DCEU. It’s its own stand alone movie. But there’s a theory going around that because this is set in a different time period, this could be the Joker that inspired the future Joker who is Batman’s arch nemesis

The little boy that the Joker is forcing to smile through the gate is young Bruce Wayne.
I swear it sounds like the audio is cutting out when that guy is pulling off the clown wig asking "What's so funny?" It kind of sounded like a J sound, almost like the guy was going to call him "Joker" and maybe that's how he decided to call himself Joker in this origin.

The most important question is will it be a good film. Being faithful to anything comics, or other movies are unnecessary. Is it a good movie with good acting and good directing? Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor so I trust him.

I LOVED the trailer. It sold me. I had very interest other than to see his performance as the Joker MAYBE. This trailer was incredible. It shows a mans decent into insanity. That alone interests meIt's a stand alone film. I honestly don't see how anyone couldn't loved this trailer. Differences can be funny.

The interesting thing is that the Joker said in the comics that he likes to make things up about his past. So we may never actually learn about his true origin.
This is an elseworld story. This is the Joker that inspired the Joker as Jared Leto and Heath Ledger portrayed. This will be an Oscar worthy film. This trailer is pure art

The Joker has often represented Gotham with all its manifestations of evil. So that quote in this trailer symbolizes the Joker “losing his way” from all the bullying as he deals with mental illness and loss, which then causes his transformation into the Joker, the purest manifestation of evil in human form. At the start he went up the stairs with his head hung low defeated and without purpose, but by the end he descended the stairs dancing in final form with purpose.
Also, that little boy he forced a smile on is likely Bruce Wayne (more symbolism there I think), and this movie is separate from the current DCEU. They’re call it an “elseworld” story. I’m really excited for the movie. Great reaction too!

Leto is the DCEU joker.
Its an else world story. Rumor has it, he births the idea of joker and could be in the new batman movie. That scene in trailer where he forces kid to smile will be a flashback in new batman movie.
The scary part of the story is that the joker is someone we all know or live near. Hes not a super villain. Hes a mental health patient that has been pushed to far.

The trailer is pretty decent and it doesn’t give off but so much anticipation of the movie itself, but you know all about who and what joker is really all about. They kept the best bits out for a reason Just to get you wanting more. That’s what you call “ Cinema magic”.
This is considered an elseworld version of the joker. They got Todd Philips who did the hangover trilogy with executive producer Martin Scorsese. It rummored to be Rated R, i hope it's good for the most part.

That trailor totally changed my mind about anyone challenging Heath Ledger's comicbook villain throne.
I'm already so invested. I looooved this trailer. I liked how it made you nervous for no reason, I loved how Joaquin Phoenix brings something familiar but also different to the role, reminiscent of Heath Ledger without being the same. Also I think this movie is supposed to be like the 'logan' of the Joker world, not connected but kinda connected. It's a different world, he might inspire Heath Ledger's joker in that universe maybe? I heard some talks.

that is not the actual joker, the kid he puts the smile on, is bruce wayne, and batman/joker is not that far apart age wise, so my theory is that this guy inspires the Joker, i don't know tho will be interesting to see. this also could be a flashpoint universe in where thomas wayne is batman .. will know more once the official trailer releases.. on a positive note it can't be worse than jared leto joker lol

1) What year did Marvel decide to re-write Rogue's backstory?
1-b) Wasn't the original Carol Danvers( Miss Marvel) a mutant?? How else could Rogue have taken her powers ??
2) When did Marvel turn Miss Marvel into Captain Marvel and was she always involved with the Cree in some way
If her origins were always Cree then how would Rogue get her powers?? The coma thing is accurate but Rogue only takes powers from Mutants right??

This movie isn't directly related to the "DCEU". The DC heads already came out and stated that cinematic DC universe will no longer be focused on being shared. Instead, they are going to be leaning hard into the "Worlds of DC" idea. A lot of their movies and TV shows will now (supposedly) mirror actual comics in that there will be different interpretations/versions of the characters in DC and many of them will be stand alone projects.
We'll see how it goes I suppose.
This movie is gonna be deep.
This Joker will be explained as another Multiverse Joker and it won't be in the dceu with Superman for example unless they introduce a Superman in this Multiverse. But there is a rumor that this movie will be the precursor for the next Batman movie that is supposed to be more like of a year one Batman.
This film is going to be Oscar nominated. I think yall are looking at this through a superhero-film-lens - look at this through the OSCAR-lens.

This is "A" Joker origin - it's not THE origin. This movie looks incredible. Its a PSYCHOLOGICAL thriller about mental illness so if you're expecting boom-boom-superhero film - thats not what this is.
