  • @Jared_Wignall

    Penny is a narcissist and did in fact adopt Arthur while she worked as a housekeeper for the Waynes. She later raised him with her abusive boyfriend who then died in jail and she was put in Arkham as a result of the abuse. She’s now in this state where she believes Thomas Wayne and her had an affair which is how Arthur came to be when that’s not the case. Because of her negligence and her boyfriend abusing Arthur, he now has the issues he has as a result of his mom. He also didn’t kill Sophie as she didn’t do anything wrong by him like insult him, embarrass him or any other kind of wrong one could think of like Murray, Randell and Penny did. I say this as people believe this to be the case but Todd Philips has said he did not kill her and that he had a scene of her and her daughter watching when Arthur was on the Murray Franklin show and killed Murray so you’d see her reaction but he cut it since this is told from Arthur’s perspective, who is an unreliable narrator so not everything we see happen to him actually happened. For example, Joaquin Phoenix said the teenagers taking the sign and beating him up in the beginning of the movie was all in his mind and so considering this it also could be that the Wall Street guys on the train didn’t harass and beat him up and perhaps he was just laughing uncontrollably, which caused the woman to leave and then when the guys went to see if he was okay and from there he killed them. It’s even been pointed out how the flash of him hitting his head against the wall in the beginning of the film is actually taking place at the end when we see him in Arkham and some think Arthur imagined causing the riot to happen and probably heard about Thomas and Martha Wayne murder and took that as if he sort of had a hand in that as well as the fact that Thomas Wayne either never interacted with Arthur or if they did interact it did not go the way we see it in the film. It’s really interesting to rewatch this and see all the things that happened to Arthur with the knowledge that not everything that happened actually occurred in the film and certain things happened just in his mind.

    The movie is portrayed from the perspective of a faithless narrator. You can't assume anything in the movie took place the way it was portrayed ( i.e. Thomas Wayne being an ass, Arthur being given the gun, people actually treating Arthur as poorly as shown). A good question to ask is did any of this happen or was it just a thought in Arthur's head while he sat in the hospital room with the shrink at the end of the movie.

      We also don't know the pharmacology involved in his case. He may have been on high doses of several psychotropic medications since he was a child. There is a comic version where Thomas Wayne is revealed to be jokers dad but it was left unanswered. So it's still left up in the air

    • @Chinachik
      @Chinachik 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly! It’s still up in the air in this movie too. When Arthur looks at the back of Penny’s picture, there is a love note of sorts from Thomas written on it. But by that time, Arthur is so far gone that he doesn’t care. I think Thomas had an affair with Penny who was hoping to be an entertainer, and when he found out she was pregnant he covered the whole affair and illegitimate kid up to protect his public image, hence the doctored files at Arkham. Penny suffered a mental breakdown after what Thomas did to her.

If anyone has a problem with you using the terms listed above, tell them to take their complaint up to such organizations as Little People of America, Little People UK, Little People of Canada, Danish Dwarf Association, Dwarf Sports Association UK, or Dwarf Athletic Association of America.
    That said, what also works is "the short guy" or "the small guy." This is the same as referring to someone as "the tall guy" or "the big guy." You could even say something like "the guy who is about 1 meter tall." See past their Dwarfism. Describe them as you would anyone else.

It would not be the first time that powerful men have used their status and position to manipulate women much lower in the social hierarchy. And with all of her mental health issues, especially in the 80s, what's to stop Thomas Wayne from actually doing exactly what she said and forging adoption papers and all that? This movie not only about joker origin but also parallel version of charlie chaplin movie which much darker.
    In most movie, Charlie chaplin character remains hopeful despite become
    Punching bag by society
    While joker had enough of his life

    The first shot in the subway was self defense...the last one cold murder. He crossed the line there.
    In the end no one can force you to do what you dont want to...blamming others its just a bad excuse to justified your actions.

    Oh you wanna see weight loss. Check out The Machinist with Christian Bale. He shot it after Batman Begins if I remember right or right before. And his weight loss was massive..

    • @MDBowron
      @MDBowron ปีที่แล้ว +1

      actually he shot it before Batman Begins, according to Christian Bale himself on the Batman Begins featurettes and behind the scenes. He said how he just ate an apple and a cup of coffee to get the weight for The Machinist, then went heavy on the burgers and stuff until he said he was bigger than a bear, and one of the crew said to him "Mate, we're filming Batman, not Fatman."

    Are you sure they wanted to get the Joker out? Maybe they ran into the cops because they were cops, and let out the Joker after seeing it was him.

    They don't understand anything about the movie, it shows in the first few minutes, they have no empathy or understanding, it's really annoying, there are people who take this disease seriously and in my opinion they would take it as funny because of their ignorance

      There is very little, if anything, not to understand. This is a film that might as well have a marching band accompany each event in it.
