The trailer feels like a dramatic portrayal of the joker and I quite like it over the typical hero vs supervillain film where you don't get much of the antagonist perspective
The public is the antagonist in how society can create a villain. 😉

4:41 oh god, has a sound ever just chilled you to the bone and fills you with dread because of the bad memories it brings? For a year I woke up at 4 AM to go work a job I hated, and that alarm was the bane of my entire existence. That shit literally made me shudder. Ugh.
Oh, and this movie looks very interesting but I honestly don't know what i should expect, despite the fact it's the freaking Joker.
People have to get passed the “comic book story” element of this movie. I love the comics more than most for sure. But they have said. This isn’t based off of any comics. And isn’t really the story of “the joker” just someone that they are saying is the joker.
It's no different from what writers have done before with various characters. We've seen various different takes on the Joker in different series, comics, and movies. This is a more grounded character study of the Joker which makes it interesting. It seems to be taking some notes from his Killing Joke origin where he is just a guy that gets through a tough life that eventually just has one bad day which pushes him over the edge.
@@Zikk0_o reminds me a lot of the Killing Joke and I have the feeling that they will go like with the first Batman movie with Michael Keaton where the "Joker"(well before he becomes Joker but still) kills Bruce's parents. So that film might actually turn out to be kind of a Batman origin movie(what pushed Bruce to become Batman) and that would actually show how both Batman and Joker are tied by faith, nemesis for life. Well that would be awesome imo.

I love the fact that this just looks like a good movie even if you take out all of the comic stuff. Like they're not resting on the fact that it's the joker or a comic book story to sell the movie. They look to have made a good solid film then just layered comic lore in on top of it. That's when cbms are at their best to me.

Sorry but this does not seem theatrical to me at all. This looks realistic and organic like it could happen tomorrow or in an hour. This is street level, gritty, grinding through life shit that some people actually go through. Stop thinking heath ledger and the dark knight. That's not what this is.

@@sirmoonslosthismind not what I got from that. I haven't seen it, obviously, so maybe he's right. But all inclinations is this is more of a real depiction than any other. Theatrical makes me feel overdone and over the top.

Joaquin did research and met with people who suffer with pathological laughter (PLC) It's a neurological disorder, and that's how he came up with his laugh.

@@knightfallprotocol The moment you start a sentence with "I hate how...", you're already complaining. Nothing's stopping you from doing your own reactions the way you want a reaction to be done. And if you're going to provide "constructive criticism" then perhaps learn to do so in a way that doesn't make you come across as a whiny child.
I wouldn’t say as theatrical as more “natural” tone. For me, I get a sense of connection with this Joker/Arthur, where as previous ones are more performanced-based entertainment. I enjoy DC movies when they get these sense of dark elements right, can’t wait for the movie!
They recently announced its going to be Rated R. I think Robert Denero character will either get killed on live tv or his going to kill the audience.

Joker is my favorite villain of all time, in all medium including comics, novels, movies, tv and etc. So far from the trailers this isn't your classic definitive version of The Joker, who ever wrote this, this is his take on the Joker, I say why not? Movie writers can have their version too, just like in most comic book adaptations, everything won't be 💯, by the looks of it this will be great.
I say, stop seeing it like a grand theatrical piece. Dont see it as a piece to compare to the dark knight, this is more comparable to Scorsese's Taxi driver.

I like the mental illness take re: system, treatment in the street and off. I just didn't want it to be too 'Cannes'. It seems Joaquin is trying to keep the calculating seriousness while also giving in to the crazy: You can tell he's studied from Hamill to all incarnations and has done a lot of physical acting work. Interesting. I wasn't feeling the first trailer either, but this turned in a different direction.

love how ya'll still a little standoff-ish, me too. Not hyped like so many. I said it before and say it again, this ain't the Joker, but am sure Joaquin will give a great performance of a psychopath villian.
I'm one of the few people who are not only NOT hyped for this movie, but it actually makes me NOT like the Joker. This movie looks like it will be for the Joker what Halle Berry did for Catwoman. Now no disrespect to Halle Berry, but THAT movie should NEVER have gotten off the ground. The director AND producers have gone on record to say that THIS isn't even the DC Comics Joker. It's just some dude with a shitty life. Gee, I wonder where you can find one of those?? It's a case of someone NOT understanding about the movie they're making and then coming up with some reasonable sounding excuse to just to shut everyone else up.

@@HavokUnbound the Joker movie actually has NOTHING to do with "The Joker" It is a DC film tat is exploring the possibilities of what kind of past "someone" like the Joker"could" have. It is by NO MEANS a JOKER ORIGIN Story. That is confirmed by the Director himself.
I think it looks ridiculous. He's not acting like Joker, he's acting like a psychopath clown. I need more to know for sure but so far it looks disappointing.
