Putting a 150 amp fuse where there was a 100 amp fuse might mean that your wiring is now the fuse. So when the wire melts and catches fire at least you saved the fuse from blowing. Good plan....

ha ! 4 Shure ! Copper is Xpensive. i took 165 lbs of #1 to a recycler, over a month ago. 4 bucks Canadian, a pound. So, vehicle makers are producing thinner gauge wire, to save $$$. Scotty goes by experience. Here is my experience: in 2010 I purchased a 2011 Kia Sorento. After 11 years and almost 100k miles, I have (out of pocket) replaced the main battery twice, the windshield wiper blades three times, and recharged the air conditioner once. My purchase included "tires for life" and I am now on my third set provided by the dealer. This Kia has been the least expensive new car buying experience after 10 years I have ever had.

Well my Kia Forte was built in Korea and has the 4 speed transmission instead of the newer 6 speed transmission. I get 34, 35 miles per gallon driving around town. Naturally aspirated and port injection. It's got 183,000 miles on it and it's doing well. Now I am really careful to keep up on maintenance and I don't drive it hard. Thing is I wouldn't want to get a hybrid from Kia. If I were to get a hybrid I would get a Prius. But the simpler Kias are not bad cars.

I agree that Kia is not up to the Quality of a Honda or Toyota. But in my case after test driving a 2020 Toyota Highlander, a 2020 Honda Pilot, and a 2020 Kia Sorrento V6 doing research and looking at the pricing I actually wound up with the Kia Sorrento EX V6. I have put over 16,000 trouble free miles on it so far and have been very pleased with it. I know the older Kia’s had Severe engine problems especially the 4 cylinder Models but I believe that Kia has greatly Improved many of their models over the last few years. So I took the Gamble. We shall see. Scotty, do you think I screwed up?

Got worse and worse as time went by. I took it to a couple of different mechanics who didn’t know why it did that and couldn’t fix it. I watched a few TH-cam videos and found out it might be the crank shaft sensor. I asked the mechanic to change out the sensor for me and it worked like a charm. Scotty himself calls every carmaker. except Toyota and Ford, crap. I will agree with Toyota being reliable as the sun but Ford has had more issues, especially safety wise than even GM , Mopar, and other European and Asian automakers. Their safety recall lists are plenty, such as their rear axle falling out of their new Explorers; their Axod-e transmissions having a much higher failure rate than Chrysler's 4 speed A604 but Consumer Reports and the like, constantly gave Chrysler such bad ratings in terms of reliability because of it. Ford's Fox platform Fairmonts had many safety recalls during its lifetime and then we had the Firestone tire debacle back in the early 2000's. Firestone tires exploded unexpectedly on these Explorers, to which they became known as "Exploders!" of this generation. Yet Mr. Scotty is soft on Ford, compared to how badly he talks about other automakers, except Toyota. Ford blamed Firestone and Firestone blamed FOrd. So who was correct? Firestone was correct in that, Ford asked for undersized tires for the weight range of the Explorer and hence after driving on the highway, the tires could not handle the weight of the Explorer and hence they exploded!
Consumer Reports later admitted a few years later, after they lambasted Chrysler's A604, of being super unreliable, that the Ford AXOD-E transmission had higher frequency of repair than Chryslers.
I for one, take Scotty Kilmer's advise or opinions, with a grain of salt. Some of the times, he has good advise or opinions and other times, his advise or opinions, leave me smh!
