Yeah I completely agree, 3 is more for staged scenarios or heavily modded missions, it's more of a template as opposed to how reforger is more of a squad-esque faster paced drop in drop out play that is easier to get into and not as in depth while not being as moddable. Like you say, both good for different things
Fair warning to all; Arma 3 can be extremely addictive and may result in a decade-long dependency. Did I miss a mod review that included full auto pistols? 1:35
Went with Reforger last week as my first Arma. I have been so addicted to it. I have only played Official servers but cant wait to try out modded servers.
Hard to believe I started playing Arma 3 when I was a Junior in High School and now I’m pushing 30 and still love it as much as I did when I was 16 if not moreso now.
I was playing OFP (and later the first ArmA) when most of you were still in diapers. :D I am looking at getting back into this ecosystem, but I'll probably wait for ArmA 4. I hate it that Bohemia decided to release this weird intermediate title just to syphon a little more cash. They should simply work on ArmA 4, damn it!
I know Reforger has updated graphics, mechanics, etc but I can do the 1980s Cold War scenarios in A3 (with much more to play with) and if I get bored I can put my Star Wars mod list on and liberate Geonosis. Hopefully A4 is similar
@jebotipasmater you really doesn't need dlcs in order to enjoy the best of what the workshop offers. Some dlcs have high quality assets like apex (especially this one, just get it trust me), tanks, jets or helicopters for people that enjoy these spectrum of combat, and some mods may require you to own dlcs that these mods depend on. However, 80% percent of mods and addons (including the best ones like cup or rhs) on the workshop don't require dlcs, so you can just get the base game, hop on the workshop and download almost anything you like, then start enjoying the sandbox this game has to offer.
Going on 5,900hrs in Arma 3. It is the pinnacle of sandbox combat, with the BEST 3d editor in gaming. There is no question Arma 3 will be here years to come. 🔥🔥💪🏻😤🤘🏻🔥🔥
As an Xbox series x player who has drooled over ArmA 3 footage for years and is thoroughly enjoying reforger, I don't see how much better it can be made than ArmA 3. Honestly looks like the best possible game that could have been made. Has the best community. Constant stream of new content from modders and developers. Damn you PC
Yeah, this is the real answer. If you want PvP, Reforger is the way to go. If you're a singleplayer/Co-Op gamer, then that's not really the focus of Reforger and you should definitely go for Arma 3. Think of Reforger as more like an Arma take on the game Squad.
I personally love Contact, the electronic warfare + somewhat realistic response to alien life plus the eastern european map + shady government conspiracy theories aspect really adds to it all. The "near future" aspect of arma 3's weapons and equipment is really neat
Arma 3 will, as you said, be around for a long time. My group had a discussion the other night speculating just how long players will continue to play A3 after A4 comes out. It seems like Reforger is bringing a lot of players that may not have tried the Arma franchise at all without it, and that is a good thing. When they bring the Eden editor, or something like it, to Reforger and add support for more peripherals, I'll be onboard.
@@blufalconactual3807 I concur 100%. I have not switched over to Reforger BECAUSE there is no offline editor sandbox, nor is there a camera mod worth a damn lol Once I get those things I’ll be in
Reforger also feels like more of an advanced development tech demo that you buy into and it's being updated with features and content they will use later along with the fact they are showing the modders more or less what they will be working with or at least thats my take away. I feel we are a good few years off from Arma 4 still and time will tell if it is for better or worse. I don't care for the proprietary integrated mod browser and the lack of a steam workshop option where I just send the guys a HTML and we go. It gives them full control of what they will allow to be modded into the game mostly and there are some benefits I guess but I feel like there's a lot more negatives to that.
@bendynamic2150 I'm not sure how I feel about the mod system in Reforger, but I also remember how many people were totally against the Steam Workshop when it launched. Lol
I have 800 hours in arma 3 and 700 hours in reforger and I’ve only got a pc relatively recently. Arma reforger is way more fun multiplayer game for me and Arma 3 single player is just phenomenal. I feel like I am still just scratching the surface of arma 3 where reforger I feel well versed in vanilla and modded.
7:30 actually Operation Flashpoint: Elite (2005) was a console port of the first arma game and almost bankrupted bohemia interactive (leading to the ignoring consoles for many years)
Ok I used to play so much arma when I was younger on pc and never came back. Just seen arma reforger on Xbox and might buy it so thank you for the video
Arma 3 2035 is a goated setting and the movement/systems are better (yes the movement is a bit clunky but advanced positioning is great and soldiers should be a bit clunky).
I prefered the ArmA 2 setting. And the movement felt more weighty, clunky as well, ArmA 3 inherited almost all of it, minus the free aim that I kind of ended up missing as well as the characteristic aiming reticle. At least they have one big thing in common: Both are still being mistaken for real war footage.
@@iplaygames8090 Not in the same way, it just has a progressive up and down slider, nothing like Arma 3 where you could change weapon hands for CQC or lean further right for less exposure.
I haven't played Reforger and I'm in no rush to do so. I play Arma 3 for the Eden Editor so there would be no point moving to Reforger. I own all the DLC's, creator and official, and over 300gb worth of mods. My entire Arma 3 folder is over 500gb, it would be hard to move on from that. I am looking forward to Arma 4 though, but if it doesn't have Eden Editor I'll probably still stick with Arma 3.
thats so important for Arma 4. Without a Game-Editor like Eden-Editor (Zeus) and only with the "Gamemaster" in in Reforger, mission design and creating will be worst. The Eden Editor doesn't necessarily need to be reinvented. As it is in Arma3, it is perfectly designed to create a mission quickly and innovatively, and you have everything at your fingertips at a glance or with a click of the mouse. Of course, it has to be created for the new engine, but you should take the Eden Editor as a guide and copy its quick way of working. The game master from Reforger unfortunately looks like it was made more for consoles, but as far as I know, no one is going to create a complex mission or new gameplay mod with a console controller. Eden is easy to use for the most of the Players and Creators - I hope that Bohemia will realise it :)
@Diffie303 I agree eden is basically just works and very usable same with zeus. I didn't like the ui from the new "zeus" on reforger looked ugly They should honestly take a lot from the mod zeus enhanced. And add things from the RTS zeus mod. Not only zeus users will have insane control om a new engine. It's gonna be extremely immersing for the players. One can hope. Oh and improve the AI In all my arma playtime 90% was solo zeus making big battles.
After using the bundled workbench tools for reforger, I find using the Zeus tool extremely limiting. Workbench gives you access to much more in the engine and because it is much more like the various free to access game engines, newcomers are going to find it much easier to pick up.
Arma has been the game of my teens. I played so much of it (not as much as other people) and Ive been eager to get back to it, wanting to get into a milsim (chill) unit. So many memories and experiecnes
I put a dumb amount of time into reforger, but unfortunately it's heavily noob console players who try to play it like cod with complete disregard for effective use of assets, the need to push the front line early game, defense, etc. so I've recently returned to Arma3 to invest the majority of my gaming time.
@@Arkansas112if ur a console player I would 100% recommend to buy.the server we play is mostly pve with game masters creating scenarios or ops.ive been playing 6 plus months and I'll play another 6 plus
Don't be put off by Reforger's cold war setting, the server me and my friend play on is fully modern day setting with NVG's, modern vehicles and weapons and all that good stuff
I bought Arma 3 when I first got a decent PC again around 2 years plus back. I had previously had a PC back in the Operation Flashpoint era, so a long, long time ago. I really loved Flashpoint in a way you describe loving Arma 3, so much I updated my entire system at the time for when it's DLC released. Eventually got another PC wired up so could play over a home network on the game. Just so much freedom with that game, and after going to xbox after that experience for a number of years, losing all that ability playing just console games no matter how good the story was, was a killer with what I could no longer do. Apart from the graphics, just didn't click at all with Arma 3, rather than buying a game it felt like I had bought a sales brochure. Every cool looking item it seemed was available only if I bought the relevant DLC to which the game constantly reminded off, with boxes popping up on screen naming the DLC. The character was huffing and puffing like a guy who smokes 40 a day after a short run, whilst the Ai team mates legged it off into the distance. The enemy Ai seemed to have aimbot shooting abilities, Op Flashpoint was savage for it's time but this was another level so. Add on top a torturous menu system for the most simple tasks, along with a thousand and one keys, which can be great granted, but here just seemed overkill and didn't add to the experience in being there as an option. Yes, there were great moments, fantastic scenery, being able to get in and drive everything ( if you owned the relevant DLC ) but no destructible terrain and thing other games were now doing. The biggest thing for me though was the lack of stamina as a first impression, even with a minimal character load. Then to find out trying to set up something as simple as co-op required an IT degree..... Just didn't take to the game and it has sat uninstalled in my Steam Library ever since. Perhaps got to that age and been away from the game for that long that no longer wanted to put that amount of effort into just getting the game to do what I required / wanted in the spare time I had, when other options existed. So, can absolutely understand the Arma bug, having experienced it way way back in the Operation Flashpoint days, but Arma 3 just didn't do it for me. Reforger looks now like it might be coming together finally after a rocky start plus it's a time period more akin to the Op Flashpoint days. I've watched streams of both games and both look fantastic, especially Arma 3 night time missions, which can look spectacular but I'd rather watch that game than play it.
I have 2000 hours on arma 3 and its a preatty good game but the new mods coming to arma reforger are amazing and overall it has new things and better graphics
@@callateperuano9910 See and I’m glad there’s people that really love what Reforger is doing. I hope, from a mod development lens, that things are better for the mod creators.
I love reforger, I just cant go back to the older arma titles anymore. I am really looking forward to the new map from operation flashpoint next year. Honestly, Arma Reforger/4 will have the same dynamic as Arma 3 and 2 had with modders transferring to Arma 3 and playerbase too, it took some time but it happened. With Arma 4 being on a completely new and easier to mod engine, I can already see Arma 4 being played far into the 30s, maybe in 40s we get new arma game.
Don't let people turn you off from buying Arma Reforger. Arma 4 isn't coming for another 2+ years so buying Reforger and A3 is worth it especially since A3 is on sale quite a lot (now). Both games have a lot of mods but A3 has more and it also has the bigger player base but Reforger is a much easier game if you are completely new to the series. Atm my main game is Reforger.
First I have to say - thank you for your great Vids and Work on TH-cam :) I have now accumulated around 7000 hours of Arma 3 gameplay over the last 10 years. A lot of that was obviously experimenting with the sandbox and the mods and over half of that was in the PVE/single player area. Reforger looks fantastic and is of course more modern and better for current PC hardware with the new engine and performance. I still use Arma3 most of the time and it is still a lot of fun. With the 1000 mods you can do almost anything. I also play Reforger from time to time, but mostly just to see how it develops. Reforger is more of a platform for developers to prepare for Arma 4 and of course also for modders to work with the new engine. That is a very good idea from Bohemia and Arma 4 will therefore probably have a lot of good mods shortly after release. Reforger is currently so good that it works as a complete game. Mostly in multiplayer / PVP, of course. But that's OK - because when Arma 4 launches, most players will jump into a PVP game ;)
@@tonizombie It honestly does. It’s streamlined, but jumping from server to server means downloading entirely new mod packs almost every time lol but that’s just how it is in A3 anyway
@@sigmamale6128 Not exactly, Arma 3 only does that if you're joining from the launcher. If you're in-game, you can't download mods and you also can't swap to a server using different mods than what you have loaded without first restarting, even if you already had them downloaded. In Reforger, this is all seamless. There is no launcher, you can download, load and unload mods on the fly and hop from server to server without needing to restart the game.
There is an editor in reforger as well. I'm building our own custom missions as we speak with all modern tools. Nvgs, m4 weapons with modern day attachments. The workbench is even easier to use and doesn't require all the coding A3 did. Don't get me wrong we will be setting up an A3 server again but atm we do rent a reforger server

I agree here, reforger however is probably the most user friendly experience for newcomers. I love arma but id be lying if 2 and 3 weren’t overwhelming and took a while to get into. Reforger keeps the complexity but makes it more accessible and the multiplayer is absolutely epic
the last time i had people to play with was like 8 years ago i used to be in tactical combat gaming and they had a role play server they basically invented role play on arma and arma 3 and started the gta FIVE M then thats when it died all the modders left for gta 5 for teh rp stuff miss it can you make a video maybe on a good way to find people to play with or maybe servers that are a greta place to start or discords maybe i never been able to find other people to play with since then i also cant make my own missions also
@@woa6227 It’s probably because that’s what I focused to using. I loved the Steam workshop model over Armaholic, but this isn’t like that. Reforgers menu and filters are way too console friendly to be not annoying to PC users who use M&KB
Honestly, i kinda wished for an engine upgrade for ARMA3 something like UE5 or Enfusion. Just for the graphics and optimization, ARMA3, when it comes to everything else, is fairly close to perfect. Excluding the AI.
Personally speaking. I’ve spent years now learning Arma 3’s editor and debug functions. I start the game with over 130 mods many of which are extinct now. I feel I am too invested in 3 to move on to anything less than Arma 4
0:50 "Oh Yeah" in a nearly orgasmic tone 😅 4:38 "BOATS" @mandatoryfunday Amazing video like always. Personally, I'm mainly running Arma 3 until the Antistasi devs publish their Reforger version, then I will most likely permanently move my server to Reforger.
heya Viper. I've been watching your content for a while back in like late 2022 to early 2023. and you've gotten me hooked onto buying arma. I wanna ask if there any mod recommendations for a beginner like me? cuz I wanna get in on this game when I get my PC.
I got both couple months ago I haven't played Arma 3 because the DLC's I have been playing Arma Reforger mods are pretty good but only think I dont like about it its the guns i like Insury sandstorm gun play don't get me wrong gun fights are fun.
Arma 3 gives alot more flexibility towards the way you can play the game compared to reforger. The amount of aspects of warfare put into this game is great. Infantry, armor, planes, helicopters all with great gameplay detail. There are also many mission types that are very fun to play. The Zeus is there in both games but I personally feel like it has more capabilities in Arma 3 especially with mods like Zeus Enchanced. I really like the distinct atmosphere of Arma 3, its like you can see one screenshot of the game without HUD and you already know its arma 3. I know some people don't really think Arma 3's 2035 setting is good but I personally think its great becouse of its uniqness, many games are set in typical battle torned countries like Iraq, arma 3 gave something different which is a huge island from greece rebranded as a new country and then it released two new completly different terrains excluding the CDLCs which add many more great maps. Reforger is great and I don't hate on it becouse its not meant to be taken as a main arma title but more as a huge preview for Arma 4's enfusion engine. And even as a huge preview it has done better than anticipated thanks to its community. In short I think both games are great although I personally like Arma 3 more and I hope that Arma 4 will give us some of that Arma 3 uniqueness and variety but more of that Arma Reforger freshness in gameplay smoothness and graphics. Btw sorry for my english im not a native english speaker.
I played the shit out of every Arma game since Cold War, and I have to say, Reforger just feels smoother to me. The new Engine and modernized mechanics really make it feel like something new and having played Arma 2 and 3 to death already it's nice to get that feeling again. I'll be sticking with Reforger until A4 releases most likely, maybe jump back into Arma 3 occasionally for the huge overhaul mods though.
They're both good, but I prefer Reforger. A3 is fun, but i've never been big on "near future" settings. I prefer definite historic and accurate settings and equipment. I'm looking forward to the eventual A4 release that'll have MBTs, jets, more stuff, etc. My Arma pecking Order is: Arma 2, Arma Reforger, Arma: Armed Assault, and then Arma 3. If I could include Operation Flashpoint I would, but its technically not an Arma game.
Awesome vid Viper. Personally, for a new starter, I would recommend Arma Reforger first. There’s a really low cost of entry. More intuitive, smoother, less complex, good PVP to help a noob learn the ropes. Then go to A3 if you want more…WAY more!
Great vid 👍 My thoughts: - ARMA 3 for epic battles with loads of vehicles. Much longer gameplay and variety. Harder to learn but more rewarding. No other game can match it. - Reforger for concentrated infantry MP. Looks great but not much different (yet) from other infantry games like Squad
when you were talking about the modding methodology you said you prefered the steam way, which is crazy and makes me feel old but my prefered way was to not use steam at all but the game itself lol. Been playing since Arma 1 armed assault, so many good memories
Its funny, I started in OFP myself and always used FileFront and Armaholic to download and manually install mods. The Steam workshop took a little getting used to but once you got it down, its actually pretty great.
I feel like there's no right answer here, i play both and there's not one i enjoy more than the other. That said, arma 3 is 5x bigger in terms of content and ability to create whatever you want. And reforger doesn't have that but it's nice having a big scale milsim that you can play with other people without the need to worry about performance, html files to load mod presets, keybindings and having to use ts3 for radios etc.
A little light on arma Reforger... There is a ton of mod from arma 3 that is native to reforger, IA is more proactive, vehicle is more pleasant to drive, graphic engine is more beautiful and optimised, there already a lot of modded content like RHS for more modern settings, You download all the mod needed when you join a server...There is a lack of functionnality to Eden and Zeus but actually i prefer Reforger for the future than begenning on an obsoloete and more and more deprecated engine...THe better of two world is that at time all the content of Arma 3 will eventually come to Reforger and Arma 4 like it has happen to Arma 2 to arma 3
I've had some of the coolest scenes I've ever seen in a game in A3. Antistasi, messing with some outpost at night which triggered a QRF (against Russian VDV) several transport helis came and fucking para dropped soldiers all around me and my units, at night with flares going off, smoke and tracers. I just can't get that scene out of my head. It's a sad thing it all played out in like 12fps though. That's the issue. If they could get this game running well I wouldn't play anything else.
I am looking for TRUE sniper mechanics. I remember there being a mod for snipers, calculating certain things, but it wasn't all that great. is there a mod which has true bullet drops using the dials properly on a scope, able to calculate properly on the fly?
4.595 Hours in ARMA 3 and Counting Every Single day and so much to learn. Jesus can't imagine how many hours i will need to learn all the mechanics . Waiting for Arma Reforger to improve more with Updates, and at same time very excited about ARMA 4 in 2027.
Arma 3 is the way to go. Reforger is a tech demo that allows modders to get their mods together for the new Arma 4 engine pre-release. While it looks great, it does have its issues and is quite limited in scope and scale that Arma 3 has
It really depends on what you are looking for. For MilSim groups and mission/campaign creation, ArmA 3. For a more regular day-to-day gaming experience, ArmA Reforger. This is counting the modding scenes for both games. As someone mentioned in another comment, ArmA 3 is basically LEGOs for adults. A skilled mission maker can pretty much make an ArmA 3 campaign into a series of military DnD sessions. The possibilities are practically endless, especially with a large number of total conversion mods to choose from such as Operation Trebuchet (HALO), There Is Only War (WH40K), and Star Wars Opposition. If you are looking for clans and communities to join for immersive DnD-style missions and campaigns, ArmA 3 is absolutely the best choice. ArmA Reforger, however, has an overall better foundation for future content and modding with its Enfusion engine. It's minute-to-minute gameplay is by far superior to ArmA 3's, whether it be in terms of gunplay, vehicles, or performance/optimization. And while the mods for Reforger are not quite as in-depth as A3's, it is only a matter of time until they are, and the ones that have come out so far have already shown greater potential than A3's (again due in large part to the superior and more stable Enfusion engine). As of right now, Reforger is already beginning to offer a larger variety of functional and stable gamemodes than A3 due to its much more versatile modding framework, and many older modes/servers from A3 have already moved over to Reforger such as Wasteland. It is also _significantly_ smaller in file size (without DLC or mods, A3 is over 30GB; with DLC it is well over 100GB. Reforger without mods is only about 19GB), and has crossplay with XBOX (mods fully included). If you are looking for an optimized and user-friendly tactical shooter to spend a couple hours every day on, with a competent variety of mods and modes, then ArmA Reforger is most certainly the better pick.
As a long-time squad enjoyer, retired CQB instructor, pilot, and loser...i just want DCS, and Arma to combine and share a modern engine. I'd die from excitement.
Arma 3 is really a good game (even if I play it from a shitty laptop), it does work well for multiplayer it just sucks entering and exiting vehicle for like 30s or so. Planning to build a decent PC soon. And oh they should really set arma 4 on pacific (as you remember it being said in the campaign itself that it sucks that some of them remained in altis I think. And yeah that first landmine on campaign was still a horror, I didn't expect it having that mine since I just learned the game via campaign. Damn PTSD
The answer is both. Get 3 first. You can grab the ARMA 3 base game on sale for like 5 bucks. Even just the base game plus mods is worth about 200 dollars worth of game time, easy. Best milsim ever made by a long shot. Then, make the transition forward to Reforger in your own time.
wait for 2025, it will come with the best graphics ever, and you won't need a PC, but a riffle or bunker... so, It has been a privilege playing with you tonight.
I have a huge bone to pick with modders & kind of BI as well. From what I've seen, most modders haven't moved to Reforger because of the small player base. But, most of the player base only stays on Arma 3 because the mod library is larger (and I'll admit that private friend servers are easier to create and servers overall are more stable), but the game is horribly optimized & struggles to run at high fps regardless of how powerful your pc is. The graphics & physics are getting dated as well. Reforger isn't just the Enfusion engine proof of concept, it's essentially the live alpha for Arma 4. Like you mentioned (and those of us who have been paying attention know), Reforger will essentially become Arma 4, because Enfusion is the main engine for all of BI's titles in the near future, so all of the modders creations will be useable in every title that uses it. If modders started working with Enfusion, the players would follow and we'd have a hearty mod library available when Arma 4 drops, instead of slowly playing catch-up after release. Plus, the majority of mods in Arma 3 for most of it's life span were ports from Arma 2, so creators could do the same now, but with much more user friendly mod tools. My frustration with BI tied in all of this, is that they keep releasing CDLC for Arma 3 instead of working with these small studios, to make CDLC for Reforger or contract them to help complete features for the Enfusion engine (Reforger) like mortar, various vehicle platform and power grid system mechanics. Also, another overlooked item, that I've seen a couple times, is that the Eden editor isn't in game like the Game Master (Zeus) is, & like it was in A3. But, BI has mentioned, that (at least for the time being) the Enfusion engine toolset is the new, more robust, form of the Eden editor. I agree this isn't the best option, & hopefully they add more scripting & map manipulation features into the game with the game master, so people don't need to swap between launchers just to create complex scenarios. The enfusion toolset should be just for asset, animation, physics & scripting creation.
@@FrostByte352 modder here. And every modder I talked to refuses to touch Reforge because there's no engine support behind the scenes. They want modders to create the scaffolding and framework which they're too lazy to do themselves so we refuse to touch the game.

Hell yes!
Maybe one day Arma4 will be a real game changer.
11500 hours here... Welcome
Damn you PC
My weird take on it, Arma Reforger for playing MP. And Arma 3 to do whatever, however, and with whomever... and forever.
Yeah that’s about 90% of the player base I’m pretty sure haha
Yeah, this is the real answer. If you want PvP, Reforger is the way to go. If you're a singleplayer/Co-Op gamer, then that's not really the focus of Reforger and you should definitely go for Arma 3. Think of Reforger as more like an Arma take on the game Squad.
The East Wind campaign deserves soooo much more love
Yeah, Arma 3 lore and unofficial continuations are so good. It's such an interesting future to see and has a lot of very real parallels.
@@grog447 the "futura" setting gets so much unnecessary hate.
Love the expanding lore. I'm currently re-playing the original Cold War Crisis campaign and i'm loving it.
KERRY. ATTACK THAT RIFLEMAN!
Lol
I just bought arma 3 last week and I already love this game

I have 800 hours in arma 3 and 700 hours in reforger and I’ve only got a pc relatively recently. Arma reforger is way more fun multiplayer game for me and Arma 3 single player is just phenomenal. I feel like I am still just scratching the surface of arma 3 where reforger I feel well versed in vanilla and modded.
7:30 actually Operation Flashpoint: Elite (2005) was a console port of the first arma game and almost bankrupted bohemia interactive (leading to the ignoring consoles for many years)
Yeah but wasn’t Arma technically. I knew someone would remember OFP Elite on Xbox :)
@@grog447 it’s clunkiness honestly has a charm after a while lol you just get used to it and learn to love it
You also noticed how arma reforger movements seems cartoonish like if it was PUBG or those kiddos games 😅
reforger also has advance movement, if you hold control and scroll your mouse
I prefered the ArmA 2 setting.
And the movement felt more weighty, clunky as well, ArmA 3 inherited almost all of it, minus the free aim that I kind of ended up missing as well as the characteristic aiming reticle.
At least they have one big thing in common: Both are still being mistaken for real war footage.

Eden & Zeus editors are a must.
hopefully arma 4 doesn't disappoint
really was disappointed with reforger 2 years ago
thats so important for Arma 4.
I don't think they'll ditch eden, because that would be the biggest mistake bi makes
@Diffie303 I agree eden is basically just works and very usable same with zeus.
I didn't like the ui from the new "zeus" on reforger looked ugly
They should honestly take a lot from the mod zeus enhanced. And add things from the RTS zeus mod.
Not only zeus users will have insane control om a new engine. It's gonna be extremely immersing for the players.
One can hope.
Oh and improve the AI
In all my arma playtime
90% was solo zeus making big battles.
As a console player who was going to buy reforger for a cool milsim experience (and also mods) thank you for telling me. Should I still buy it?

Don't be put off by Reforger's cold war setting, the server me and my friend play on is fully modern day setting with NVG's, modern vehicles and weapons and all that good stuff
if arma 4 isnt in a modern setting i will not be playing it.
Yes!! That was what I didn't like at first I thought fuck that ear, but of course there's mods! It's arma. So sick.
I love the lore of Arma and single player campaigns, but i'm also in a multiplayer community and i'm having the most realistic virtual war experience.
Same. I had 3k+ hours in A3, but haven’t been back since AR came out
Don't let people turn you off from buying Arma Reforger.
Absolutely Arma 3 just for the ability to easily mod. Mods make Arma 3 and bohemia knew that.
Thanks bro!
First I have to say - thank you for your great Vids and Work on TH-cam :)
I have now accumulated around 7000 hours of Arma 3 gameplay over the last 10 years.
If you're like me and enjoy mostly singleplayer. Dont even bother with reforger but if you enjoy pvp you'll like reforger.
Arma 3 multiplayer with a milsim squad is goated
IMO Reforger handles mods way better for multiplayer, just click a modded server to join and it downloads the mods for you.
@@tonizombie It honestly does. It’s streamlined, but jumping from server to server means downloading entirely new mod packs almost every time lol but that’s just how it is in A3 anyway

@@tonizombie that's precisely how Arma 3 handles it.

I have arm 3 but all the dlc’s and I hate the UI, however it is a good game, I should play single player, what mod is best for SP?

Awesome vid Viper. Personally, for a new starter, I would recommend Arma Reforger first. There’s a really low cost of entry. More intuitive, smoother, less complex, good PVP to help a noob learn the ropes. Then go to A3 if you want more…WAY more!
Agreed! If you enjoy Reforger, you’ll definitely love Arma 3 in its complexity. Though the jank may hit you in the face at times 😂
Glad they fixed servers. I remember playing on an arma 2, i44 server (ww2) and a hacker used a plug-in to fly modern aircraft arpund the map.
Great vid 👍
My thoughts:
- ARMA 3 for epic battles with loads of vehicles. Much longer gameplay and variety. Harder to learn but more rewarding. No other game can match it.
- Reforger for concentrated infantry MP. Looks great but not much different (yet) from other infantry games like Squad

Its funny, I started in OFP myself and always used FileFront and Armaholic to download and manually install mods. The Steam workshop took a little getting used to but once you got it down, its actually pretty great.
for a completely new player would you recommend getting the ultimate edition? or just the standard thats 6$ on the steam sale 👀
Any good exil servers without full mil ?
I feel like there's no right answer here, i play both and there's not one i enjoy more than the other. That said, arma 3 is 5x bigger in terms of content and ability to create whatever you want. And reforger doesn't have that but it's nice having a big scale milsim that you can play with other people without the need to worry about performance, html files to load mod presets, keybindings and having to use ts3 for radios etc.
@@Zink971 Both is the right answer lol

Hey Viper, I was just wondering if you have any cool naval mods for arma 3?

And yeah that first landmine on campaign was still a horror, I didn't expect it having that mine since I just learned the game via campaign. Damn PTSD
Reforger !!!! i own both but im a reforger fan.
Hey man!
What is this F-16 with the screens that actually shows something? It's not Firewill's
@@BenchmarkCiA At which part? I had 2 different F-16 mods in this video. Firewills has a “TGP on map” option that puts your target pod on the MFD

Arma 3 for the win. If/when Antistasi comes to Reforger, I might switch. Hopefully they will have better AI for arma 4.
Check out the the reforger Overthrow mod can run single player too
