"Information Wins Wars" Taking a hostiles radio and listening in can help a ton. But people generally use em to troll the opposition. I don't.
Here's a tip. Code name locations are included on the map and are specific to blufor or opfor, at the same time are randomized for each round. You can use these codenames to prevent the enemy knowing where your running supply, defending or attacking. If the enemy is witty they can decide them. So come up with your own codenames for locations.

I can't stand this feature. The trolling can almost ruin matches public matches. Yes if you have squads that coordinate, its not too big a deal, but trying to rouse the rabble is already hard enough without compromised comms 😅

@@Crookgotjokes Sure, its just not fun when playing on public servers on a video game. On a server where every player is working toward winning, coordinating together (like a private server), I feel like it's a cool feature that adds an interesting angle to comms strategy for sure.
A tip for ambushes. Often when working with mines it is easier and more effective to place the mine next to the rode hidden the grass or hide it behind an object such as sandbags. Then you can just lay in wait, until your target is driving by the mine and shoot it yourself, eliminating the vehicle. Best place to do this is around FIA checkpoints as they are good spots to conceal the mines without the risk of arousing suspicion. Another benefit of using mines like this is that it allows you to pick your target instead of relying purely on luck.

First time I played this game with a group of players, they told me to carry the radio & try to remain under cover for as long as possible. Though once I left the vehicle, I could hear the enemy team players shouting "Radio man spotted south-west!! Call in the sniper~~!"
That moment you realize you were told to carry a big fat target on your back...

My tip contribution: Press "r" while driving to turn the engine off for coasting. Very few people know this one, and it's extremely useful.

A tip from me: Supply trucks need to be in the proximity of a supply depot to load / unload supplies. As the main base is often used as a frequent source of supply, it’s a good idea to make sure that the vehicle depot and supply depot at main base are located near each other. This way, when you spawn a supply truck you can load it with supplies straight away without having to drive near the supply depot.

A Tip that i find usefull,,, keep good communications, but avoid location names and actual plans, discuss the plans before you part and then navigate from that so the enemy cant get any usefull info from you

Hey, just got reforger today and saw this vid, thanks for the tips man!
my one tip is whenever driving dirt roads, there is a branch asset that can stick out into the road a few inches and its indestructible so it will either destroy your drive train on light vehicles or send a BTR into space (bohemia keeping with tradition for that one) so pay more attention on dirt roads

Expanding upon the main character tip, I’d say just stay with a team or squad rather than going alone. And always bring a Law if you’re the Americans.

A lot of people tend to think of APCs as tanks with passenger seats instead of guns, and don’t know that most APCs (I don’t know about the newest ones but the vast majority throughout history) are meant to be small-arms resistant and are only rated up to, like, .308. Crazy to think that a monster like an LAV or BTR could be easily cut through by an emplaced MG, or (with bad luck and the right load) hypothetically could even be penetrated with a 7.62x54r

My favorite thing is the comms. My squad got ambushed leaving a town I cant remember. We cleared out the American squad and found they had our radio with my squads freq. They were hunting us for some time.
its interesting to see the russians use BTRs but the Americans not have an answer in 1989. The bradley was new and wouldnt see action till desert storm. So it makes sense that when engaged in only a minor conflict, the US would be very hesitant to send in their new IFV until they tried it out on a more vulnerable enemy. Though I would definitely expect the us to use other armor options and maybe even a older patton tanks
Hmm, you would hope Bradleys could be deployed by (I believe this game is set in) 1988. There's photos of them in NATO Reforger exercises during the mid-80s (along with the M1) so it was definitely ready for rapid reaction from either Germany or the US.
Yeah, you're right its combat readiness would have been an unknown. But they would have found out quick how much of a beast it was.
About those Hueys though... Just seems too National Guard-level, even in 1988.

Thank you for these tips! I started some weeks ago with friends to play Reforger. Unfortunately all my friends stopped playing because it was too hard to spot enemies. We always died because we didn't know if it's an enemy or not and got shredded. The amount of different uniforms per team makes it even worse. We all played Arma 3 for many years. Do you have any tips?
I see GM on console setting up points and orssring enemy to defend or attack. Could you make tutorial on how to be GM. Not sure the other guys do it.
When approaching the enemy line drop your radio and deploy it that way everyone can spawn safely and it's not on your back. When you've taken the town just undeploy it and pick it up again. Game changer trust me.
radio on the ground have only 10 respawn. will it reload after some time?

The point re peaking is very valid, but you also need to look into “peakers advantage” which is a more complex issue, which depends on ping to server and so on. Allows for some frustrating encounters.
Peakers advantage is something you don't really need to worry about in this game. Not that competitive like let's say CoD

A video about the vocabulary in arma reforged would be great. Sometimes I feel very ingnorant. And I have also a question: You said that for the spot radio,only one radio can be active at the time, by "at the time" you mean depending on the distance from a soldier with a radio to a another soldier with a radio? or with "at the time" you mean that there will be one radio man on each squad? Love!!
I mean 2 radios can be "active" at the same time, meaning only two will be available as a spawn point for the entire team if the operator is still alive (so long as you're in radio range of the HQ). Any extra people with radio backpacks will automatically be on standby and get activated if one of the first 2 go down. This system is going to change though (th-cam.com/video/bjqG106n05I/w-d-xo.html), but that's how it works right now.

I downloaded it today and Just found a cool modded server w/ cool modern kit and guns but it was Chaotic asf (still hilarious asf and well worth it). Everybody was nice but kept tking each other as helicopters were leaving the Main Base. By the time the admin came in and organized everything and we made a game plan for our and we’re about to set off on our mission (which was probally like 2-3 hours) my girlfriend asked me to get off 😭. I’ll definitely be looking for good servers, this game is amazing, and the fact that you can download mods in game is amazing
Btr ambush in onfalade to a road backed in to the bushes just waiting for a humv to come cruising down the road and pass by it unknowing that a btr with tracer rounds is already scoped in on the road and now aiming at them from the rear
How do you switch your grenade launcher off an go back to your sights on the gun. With Xbox controller?
I had no idea that using the scroll wheel changed your characters speed. I was walking at a snails pace and thought I pressed a button, but it's so easy to do. Nothing in A3 can prepare you for how different Reforger is. I keep going to throw a grenade and instead pull out the radio wheel.
Over 20 mods for Arma 3 just to get it somewhat on the level of Reforger.

I’m trying to aim down sight on the iron sight but when I try it only zooms in like it hipfire only idk what to do
You have to fully press down left trigger and it will switch to iron sights

I don't think so. The minimum spec calls for a 1650, which is around 40% faster than your card.

If you don't have Reforger you should try and find a pirate version... try it out and stuff
Also i think that Perfomance in singleplayer is worse then multiplayer because the server does stuff and not you... but in singleplayer everything is done by your PC and not some stuff by the server
I think that's how ArmA reforger works... this same thing applies to Escape from Tarkov

Not sure how different my vid card is to a 1650, but I’m still running a 980ti. Seems to run good.
If im correct, in real life the BTR80 can withstand 50BMG, but due to the 50cal being the second highest calibre in the game ( and highest calibre the US has) it was the only real way to balance it out.
Is the same true for the BTR-70? I think that's the one in game.
BTR80 can only withstand 50cal from the front. The one in game is the BTR70, which can only withstand 7.62 from the front meaning a m60 gunner can shred the crew from the sides.
@@uristboatmurdered6051was about to say, they should add Armour plates or Cages or both for The BTR-70. 9mm front isn’t enough to stop.
Hey is there anyway you could put out a video for a mod ? The server is called king of the hill for arma reforger and we are trying to find 30 people all playing at once. If you could do that that would be amazing for later future king of the hill ! There are 3 teams and one objective and whoever has the more players on the objective you gain points. The goal is 100 points

I'm a big fan so might be a little biased. Arma Reforger is one of the only authentic military shooters consoles have. They have a 2 hour free trial I believe, so give it a try! Hop on one of the official servers for PVP, or try the ChillFam PVE server for a classic Arma co-op experience.

The game is super unstable. I honestly hope they fix it. I can’t wait for the day that servers become like the ones in arma 3. Great performance and mods

Sucks we can’t weld armour or cages to the BTR. 1989 was a terrible era for this game.
Otherwise if the BTR could tank a 50. Cal with some extra armour or take a RPG or LAW once or twice without everyone dying. That’d be nice

There's no shame about doing supply runs while your friends are doing super secret squirl op, guns win the wars.
All this talk about dying in pvp yet the AI absolutely annihilated me 3 lives in a row my first time playing this game this morning. I like to think I’m good at battle simulator games but this one is atrocious. I genuinely do better against real people in other games like insurgency or maybe battlefield but in this I didn’t even stand a chance. I tried to stop and relocate but they pinned me down and surrounded me. No matter how I retreat through trees rocks and foliage one of the enemies always survived and one tapped me. I was lucky to even get a glimpse of the Soviet’s defending the objective the first life let alone to get the 2 kills I got max trying to capture moss hill haha. Not sure if I just need to join a pve server or what but yeah pretty disappointing experience
A tip I'd like to know at the start was to not buy this "game", or at least not to try to download any mods because they simply did not download at all and made a refund impossible since I left them "downloading" overnight.
I wish nothing but bankruptcy and misery to BI, but unfortunately I don't see that happening.
