It was awesome being at the Remedy HQ watching the Game Awards and everyone there started singing during the chorus, and especially when Sam came on stage. A couple people recorded the reaction, though I don't know if they have been posted anywhere

Old Gods of Asgard (Poets of the Fall) has always been such a staple for Remedy games. Everyone here killed it with their performance.

@@user-yv6lf5yd3m They aren't just the Remedy band though. They've become pretty big in their home country Finland, after Late Goodbye in Max Payne. But yes, they did begin their journey as a Remedy band. I'm so proud of them. They've come so far. They're own music is also so good. They deserve this recognition.
The person singing together with "Mr Door" is the voice of Alan Wake, Matthew Peretta, and also the face of Dr. Casper Darling (the Scientist from the live action videos of Control and the author of the "The Many World Theory" book in Mr. Door's room in the studio.
It's so fun to see both him and Ilka Villi (the face and body of Alan Wake) in the same place!

Old gods of asgard made it into the top 10 on itunes, making them more successful than their actual identity poets of the fall. Alan really is altering reality.
Two things I absolutely loved about the game awards:
Swen accepting GOTY in a suit of armor
Sam getting up on stage and dancing with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen on a game directors face. Like look at that man and tell me he’s not on top of the world right now!
Games are weird because games are made by weird people. So it's nice to see the weirdness embraced instead of snuffed out. Seeing people allow themselves to be their authentic self is something we need more of and I'm just glad they are getting their recognition.
The coolest thing to me about this, is how meta this is. Because the irl actors ALSO portray the characters in the game, this type of performance can only be possible with Alan Wake. You couldn't do this with any other game. It fits so perfectly with the overall theme of Alan Wake, transcending reality and breaking the 4th wall. This was so fucking cool.

Poets of the Fall are by far my favourite band. Their music is super detailed and varied in style. Their normal stuff is even better than the things they do as Old Gods.

Stumbled across Laimu when i went to rewatch this performance on youtube, and anyone who vibes and fangirls over Poets of the Fall like this gets an instant follow from me. So glad Alan Wake and Control are introducing more people to one of the best bands out there

Watching Limes reaction during the livestream and then going back and watching it again, brings so much joy. Next to Flute Guy ascending to a new level, this was amazing on so many levels. I can't believe the madlads pulled it off.

@@gonzaloperez4618 playing CONTROL on its own and then suddenly there is a whole thing just about Alan Wake really confused me. i was like "that game took forever to come out and its been forever since it came out, why is this dlc all about it?" and i guess its just all one big story for some reason thats loosely connected. too bad they cant directly tie in Max Payne due to Rockstar having hold of the IP

Seeing the contrast between Limes' utter excitement as a huge fan of the game and Vinny's utter CONFUSION as someone who knows nothing about the game is absolutely hilarious. I've never played the game either but that performance was the highlight of the show.
My school did a production of 'A Mid-Summer Nights Dream', and I was supposed to be the understudy for Puck, but the guy playing Oberon quit, so I got the part. Instead of hiding behind a tree when the humans came on stage, I wore grey and black, pretending to be a rock. One of the actresses sat on my back.

I have to thank you, limes because I have a very hard time finishing games due to how my brain works so i didnt finish Alan Wake 1, I watched your vods so I could keep up with the lore enough while watching my big brother play through Alan Wake 2 over discord. To think I’ve seen a couple of people react to this and rip into Sam lake and call him a moron or a sellout. They don’t understand that this man Sam poured his heart and soul into this musical and had to fight tooth and nail just for it to be put into the game.

I was so hyped when the game got announced. Couldn't care less who they got to fund it as long as they infulenced development as little as possible. I just wanted more Alan Wake and more great games from Remedy. This was actually the only thing I watched TGA for.
