I knew absolutely nothing about Alan Wake and having watched this video, I now feel as though I know even less than before. Thanks for the highlight video!
Alan Wake 2 plot isn't too difficult to understand as long as you have knowledge of 3 other games, quantum mechanics, mythology from multiple cultures and an ARG called house of dreams lol. In all seriousness though I'm in love with game and have enjoyed trying to piece together the plot. Many unanswered questions like Thomas Zane, but way more answers then it seems on the surface.
Dear reader, you might think this comment is a goof, but PleasantLeech actually brought up the then obscure House of Dreams ARG, which means they are *extremely* serious with what they're talking about
@@pointblank2890 you're spot on. It's meant to look like a goof, but everything I said is part of what you need to fully grasp everything. Even quantum mechanics. Although you really just need a surface level understanding.
@@PleasantLeech The best part is that even though knowing the right quantum mechanics helps with understanding the non-linear narrative, it's not like you MUST understand it like you're preparing for a presentation. The game is pretty cohesive by itself, but you do need to look at it a bit more 3D, add some depth to your road map as the story progresses since the timeline loops and overlaps a lot. Like Alan said: "It's not a loop. It's a spiral".
should anyone tell Limes theirs a Old Gods Of Asgard compilation Album on CD and Vinyl with bonus songs not featured in Alan Wake 2? someone outta let her know!
I feel like I just sat next to you on a couch and watched you watch a tv serial about some dudes dancing and you were giggling all along while I have no idea wtf is happening at all and I'm just sitting bewildered.
Alan Wake is kind of just like that. I believe they purposefully make their shit Lynchian as a sort of theme, A.K.A. so bizarre and disjointed just enough to keep a consistent plot but also give the player a really uneasy feeling throughout the whole thing, where it all just culminates into this uncanny valley fever dream of an experience. But in a good way.
I'd say it's intentionally obscure and difficult to understand rather than confusing. There's a lot of information, and not everything that happens works linearly in time like things in real life seem to. And some things just aren't meant to have answers, like what the dark presence is, it's an eldritch being that's just a little beyond human comprehension.
As someone who knew of Limes, but started watching her due to these streams, forgive me for asking but, what is with her accent? To my ear it sounds American but she pronounces some words in a distinctly British way.
@wittyreviewer she explained that in a short that she used to play world of warcraft on american servers when she was younger, and now adays when she is wearing headphones or talking with americans she unintentionally defualts to an american accent.
First game amazing, the DLC is fun too, American nightmare not bad, control game ok that's bad and now second game what did they do? Turned it from a good horror game to a stupid comedy game, did someone not look this game over before it was released?
Lime: There better be another Old Gods of Asgard song, I will riot.
Remedy: 😏
Remedy and Sam Lake: Hold my Flashlight
Show me the Champion of Limes!
I'll show you the Herald of Laimuuuuuus!
Lost in a L hmmm hmm hmmm

my favorite part of these streams was seeing chat come up with hundreds of Alan Wake based puns
Limes' model is genuinely amazing

It’s so nice to see someone be exactly as stupidly happy as I was about literally everything in the game
Ah, yes,
Mr. A. Wake (currently asleep)
Once more the ocean's a lake
So alike a-lan-d a-wake.
Come save your soul
A-wake new and whole.

I love how you and I had almost all the exact same thoughts and experiences. Remedy games are always worth their weight in gold and so much more!
and then we replayed the musical for Snuffy
Her saying "pippeli" caused some of my food to go to my nasal cavity. Just a little bit though.
ok i gotta watch the vods. this is hilarious
I am glad Lime liked this part of Alan Wake 2
This game was a bit of a slog for me because it ran pretty badly on my computer, but seeing the We Sing part made the entire exercise worthwhile.
I'm too much of a wuss to play this myself so this was a great playthrough to watch! fun times
the old gods of asgard part is freaking amazing. :)
what are the odds that this got posted the same day RevScarecrow decided to do a full subathon of the first game?
Now i want to see if another book will be written for Alan Wake II. Could be really good like the first book and game.
i love this song too
i think your so cool 😎 you rock 🪨

such a classic game amazing
"If I don't like it I'm gonna ban you!"
Needless to say, that person is probably a mod now.
I have never been so confused watching a gameplay video before. Like I can't even tell if it's intentionally confusing
It is lol Remedy's games are all weird as fuck

I like how you can see Laimubot being sussy in the intro 😂
UGH! I love Poets of the Fall uh I mean Old Gods of Asgard 👀👀👀
Both ^^ Champions of LIght and maybe Heralds of Darkness... no telling which band is which 🙃😋

I thought this game was just another thriller FPS. I think I might have oversimplified. XD
Alan wake 2 make a great tribute to The Twilight Zone.
As someone who knew of Limes, but started watching her due to these streams, forgive me for asking but, what is with her accent? To my ear it sounds American but she pronounces some words in a distinctly British way.
Limes is actually British, her accent is just super lowkey.
@@burgbass Huh. Gotta say, it's nothing like any local accent I've heard. I wonder why.

Magic truly does exist
What if Alan Wake were an Adult/Cultured Video Game Franchise? (Alternate History)
I haven't even bought or played the original Alan Wake for Xbox 360, yet.
