One needs to be intentional about what they feed on and who they surround themselves with. And yes, the older you are the more they will give you funny looks or even say stuff that insinuates you are lying. But remember, it’s a covenant between yourself and God and no one else. At 25 years old, I am still a virgin. Growing up in a country like Jamaica where sex and sexuality is so overt, being convicted and sticking through the conviction because of my love for God has literally been the only thing to keep me. I love that you touched on the topic of the shame that follows when we partake in sexual acts even though we are convicted on the importance of the wait. Though I’ve never had sex, there are times when I’ve allowed my fire to burn when I shouldn’t and allow compromising situations. Thank you both for the transparency and May God continue to bless your union .

I'm from Uganda, and from what I've seen in Jamaican music videos and heard in lyrics... It must be tough. God continue to strengthen you in your resolve and conviction not to have sex till marriage. Great content guys, me and my wife never had sex until we were married it was not an easy journey. But what i have discovered is that young people abstain from sex for marriage. My question is what if the marriage doesn't happen? What I'm saying is please honour God with your body as His word is saying, never ever put marriage on the cards let it start with God and end with Him. Don't do it because you expecting a payment in a form of marriage, do it as God wants us to do as His children 1CORINTH6:19 & ROMAN 12:1. Always keep check of the MOTIVES behind the act, GOD BLESS. Tjo! First of all i commend you guys for coming clean when you didn't have to. Surely you helping many others out there who are struggling with guilt. Lesson :1. When you plan to be celibate rather not kiss at all: it's like smelling the food when you are fasting and so not meant to eat.
2. Do not stay for long with your partner in a private space, let there rather be some one else and not only the two of you.
3. If the mistake has happened? Confess your sin to God and then tell someone you trust in the faith who can counsel you so the enemy won't have room to condemn and put shame on you.
4. Nothing just happens, you can see when something is leading to that thing and be honest about it, Don't brush it off.
5. Both partners should decide to be celibate to honor God with their bodies not because they are doing it for the spouse who is celibate.
6. Pray for grace ,apply wisdom and know your triggers.

Great points! Especially no 1 about not kissing on the mouth...I'm proudly celibate for 8 years and have dated a few guys during this time. And this is the first disclaimer I give to anyone who wishes to date me - absolutely no kissing, snogging or petting! Once I was convicted about the fallacy of pre-marital sex, I asked God to help me deal with this aspect of relationships. I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to let go of certain behavior patterns. If someone really wants to walk on this journey of abstinence before marriage then they understand the need to have boundaries around affection. It's not easy BUT it's doable. Kissing without sex also creates soul ties, so if the relationship does not progress to marriage - you are still left with similar negative effects like you had sex with them.
My biggest regret 😭😭after 29 long years I lost it, I lost my virginity. To be honest I haven't talked to myself about it and I haven't forgiven myself.
To this day my relationship with sex is very strange🤔did I just have an aha moment

God is able to restore whatever the locust has stolen. Don't allow the enemy to hold you captive through guilt and shame. Your God forgives and forgets so any feeling of guilt is the enemy using the only weapon he has which is the past. You are forgiven, loved and chosen. Start again, we fall down sometimes as Christians but we always get up. Greater is He that is within you than the one that is in the world. Prayed for you already, rooting for you and holding to faith that you will wait again and this time until you get into a godly union. I love you and God loves you even much more. One of my late mentors used to say that sex before marriage creates a level of mistrust and discomfort because the knowledge that this person couldn’t be faithful to God doesn’t give any confidence that they’d be faithful to you. Her emphasis though was the fact that the devil will always engrave this lie that will cause a level of mistrust if not addressed.

I’m 23yrs old and still pure, and the goal has always been to wait for marriage but changed to saying I was ready to lose my virginity cause of a lot of factors really but my spirit wasn’t at ease with the decision. was a new Christian and wasn't looking because I was coming from a bad relationship. Anyway my husband says he new he was gona marry me the moment he saw me for the first time, he even told me when we first spoke. Our intention was also to have sex after marriage, but we fell off the wagon as well and it happened so many times until we both decided that we wont have sex again until we got married because of the guilt that we carried especially when we had to go to church, unfortunately or fortunately we became pregnant. The shame of it was unbearable and seemed like we were now getting married because of the baby, but we should have been more concerned about what God thought of what we were doing instead of being ashamed of the church. I know its a long comment, I had to share.

The topic of sexual intimacy in it's fullness is something we choose to shy away from speaking about in our Christian walk and yet it's one of the very things that steals so much from us. I think we need to start speaking openly about this so that we can start bringing back the dignity that sex carried, when handled in the correct manner, as intended by God. God is a loving Father openly waiting for us to cry to Him when we fall short. He isn't a judge waiting to sentence us to death for our sins. I have gotten to understand Paul when he says he begged God to take away his thorn, and yet above all this... I have come to appreciate the warmth that comes with knowing that God's grace is sufficient for me and this has paved a way for me to also extend grace to others. God is not done with any of us, let us continue to keep turning back to Him and allow Him to give us new desires and experiences. GOD LOVED US ALL FLAWS AND ALL.

I’m a 19 year old and I gave my life to Christ when I was 17 , however 3 months after I engaged in sexual activity. I’ve lived with the guilt for 2 years and didn’t want to tell people because of the fear of being judged. My advice would be to not awake love before its time. I have one ex-boyfriend and we started dating when I was 21, but I still believe that made my waiting harder than it was supposed to be. So, if you can try to not date until the time you know you are personally ready to marry. It would help you tremendously. Protect and guard your heart as much as you can. I've been celibate for about a year now, would be 2 years but I fell off the wagon, I'm not really religious but I'm very spiritual and the idea leaving a piece of myself elsewhere is what keeps me going. I do believe that I should've remained pure but I don't want to regret my past

Soul ties are real, had a Christian guy who told me that me choosing to wait until marriage for sex is outdated and I'm too spiritual, and soul ties don't exist. I just could not believe it, but I stand by my convictions and I will wait.

As a person who is practicing the wait, I am glad that such conversations are being had. I just want to remind people like how I have been reminding myself lately that the focus should be on honoring God with our bodies and not so much preserving it for your future spouse. That means that I am accountable to God, whether He decides to bless me with a spouse or not I am not having sex outside of marriage.

Wow, me and my cousin were talking about this just yesterday. The fact that when we were still virgins, our innocence was sooo cute and all and after having the first experience with sex, it's like the scales fell off and shit hit the fan🤧🥺🥺 I do have some regrets as well and had to learn to forgive myself and know that my mistakes are a learning curve for someone else. I learnt a while ago that it's as important for my partner to carry the "waiting" conviction and to have it for themselves and not because of my decision. 🙏🏾 I think the difficulty of waiting is not spoken of enough in the Church / Body of Christ - its not easy and it requires a community to keep you accountable and encourage you 💛 I'm 30 and single and it's not easy to wait but I'm grateful for close accountability partners and I know there are people I can call at any time when my strength is weak ☺️

This installment was truly inspiring. Unfortunately I made the decision too early to not wait and fully regret it. However, I see this as an opportunity to start over again on a clean slate.
I am also touched to see so many young people commenting about their celibacy. Please continue because the wait I’m sure is worth it despite that I haven’t had the gift to achieve this. So please stay celibate and wait and also motivate other youths to do the same. This sexual promiscuity being shown all over the entertainment industry and social media are just lies and distractions. Save it for the person God has made for you.

I agree with you on saying that the wait is easier when you are single. Unfortunately, when you date with the naivety that everyone is waiting and wants purity into marriage. The realization can make you give in to sexual immorality or realise that waking love before its time hurts you a lot.
I am so grateful to God to not be dating again and to have came out of a relationship still a virgin because it was hard and temptation was so palpable.
