I think the time jump will start with Hexe but Red might still remain in the present day, it could be the conclusion to that arc while wrapping up the Origins/Valhalla style
omg this is actually genius, by having the “modern day” be in the far future, that means the current present day story would be ANIMUS SEGMENTS finally uniting the community who always complain about the modern day interrupting the animus segments, now they are one and the same!
@erezben14 Yeah I've read that already and while the concept sounds cool. I would've loved a more personal and interconnected modern day story. It might not be ideal for a franchise as large as AC because Ubisoft wants every game to be accessible and understandable to a wide audience so it wouldn't make sense to continue a pre existing storyline because most casual players wouldn't understand or care about the modern day story and wouldn't really want to go back and understand it. But at the very least there's one undisputed fact and that is - Hexe will be banger
I hope Infinity plays closer to Unity than post-Unity ACs. I know Ubi said Mirage was gonna feel more like a classic AC game, but that it did not. Unity was the last one that had that Assassin magic. It's a shame how everyone shat on Unity that Ubi felt they had to do a complete 180 after ACU. Unity 1.5.0 with ACUFixes is about as perfect an AC game there ever was in terms of gameplay, and it's almost 10 years old.
AC Black Flag/Rogue were closer to the original AC magic from a modern day perspective. Unity and Syndicate’s modern days played like scripted first person cutscenes without control from the player.
@@tankdogization meh, never really bothered with the modern day stuff. To each their own, but peak AC for me has always been about the exploration of history. The environment, the events, the people. Desmond's modern day stuff was a nice little tie-in to wrap the whole story up in a package, but I've always thought they could do without even way back in 07/08. I've never booted up AC going "hmm I wonder where they're going to take us with the modern day stuff now", it's always been about the history. I got an A in high school history grad tests way back when simply by doing a write-up on the entire Italian Renaissance period. AC literally made me interested in history whereas before that I was always like "why tf are we even bothering to learn about dead people" when it came to it. Genuinely after III, I thought they were just gonna do away with the modern day stuff altogether. I think it would've made Black Flag a lot better. Also back when BF came out, everybody hated the modern days stuff because it was just useless fluff and didn't feel anything like the Desmond stuff, I still do feel that way. Definitely _not_ like the original modern day stuff.
The fanbase is pretty divided when it comes to modern day, for me it’s always been one of the most interesting thing together with the ISU stuff. But we will see how they’ll do with infinity, they’ll probably make the modern day optional for players and that way make everyone happy
@@erezben14 completely agree there. AC fanbase division is up there with Star Wars. Kinda sympathize with Ubisoft a little there. Stuck between a rock and a hard place like that. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Please half the base, the other half will shit on it and vice versa. Goes to show how amazing II and Brotherhood was though that the love/hate people have for AC is passionate.
Yeah, will be very interesting to see what Ubisoft will cook. I will probably get Red but I’ll have low expectations and I am actually looking forward for Hexe
How is basim alive because he touches the staff that keeps you immortal after he got out the tree of life but in the ending scene where it shows the modern day he doesn't have the staff
@@Gfre12334fdc Basim unlike Pythagoras and Kassandra in the modern day segment was young (about forty years old) when he got trapped in the machine and it kept him in some sort of hibernation mode according to the writer of the game so now he’s still about forty years old in the modern day so he doesn’t need it yet. When he’ll grow older he’ll have to be in constant contact with the staff either by holding it or transforming it into a ring or something

This might actually be the case, I read somewhere that this was supposed to tie into Hexe

I would've loved it if they continued Basims story in the modern day but I'm still open to see what they come up with
I believe it'll be set in the future (2090-2099) check the link in the description Tom Hendersson wrote about it

Basim is immortal thanks to the staff so he will still be alive in the far future.
Yeah, I completely forgot that lol

He probably hid it somewhere or put it somewhere safe
