My experience using it, and from recommendations from my mom....1) always poke the hole in the shell prior to cooking, 2) use good filtered water which will have less mineral deposits, 3) Fill up the water container and set it aside. As soon as you remove the eggs into cold water, poor the water container into the heating area. The instant steam will clean the inside immediately.
Was searching for a video just to double check how to make my hard boiled eggs I knew it was basically simple but it’s always fun to see a video. I totally enjoyed your video and I’m going to subscribe because you have a very pleasant presentation and you just look like somebody that would be nice to sit in the kitchen and have a cuppa coffee with talking over food 😬anyhow thank you so so much.!!
I have this egg cooker also. Hard boiled eggs are easy, but, I prefer the yolk a bit more done, so I leave the eggs in the cooker (unplugged) for about an extra 5 minutes. Poached eggs ... a lot faster in the microwave. Enjoy your cooker. I use mine frequently. 😅
I try not to use the microwave. I use it as little as possible. I also been using the my instant pot for hard boiled eggs and I think it is better for doing big batches of eggs for sure. Thank you for your comments ❤️ you are awesome
I love mine! A little water or even some white vinegar in the bottom of the cooker while it's still warm should get it clean. If I get fresh eggs from a friend, I usually try to wait a few days before I boil them, as they peel easier if they have just a little age on them. I wonder if the puffy of the omelet would be less if you put some vegs in the omelet mixture? Maybe just being nothing but eggs it's causing the puffed up finished product? I dont know, just a thought. Thanks for doing the demo because I have used it a lot for hard-boiled eggs but have never done poached or an omelet.
Forget the extra appliances. I use my pressure cooker or on the stove steamer. I love my on the stove steamer. Everyone needs one! It has so many uses. Great review of a nice product. 💚🌞
I agree Minnesota Mama Bear. I love my Instant pot/ Pressure cooker ❤️❤️ so much you can do with it. I haven't tried the stove top steamer. Ill have to get on. Glad you liked the review🤗
What is a stove steamer please ? Which brand ? My dad love all kind of eggs. Omelette, boiled eggs, scramble eggs, turned eggs etc... I want to buy him 1 or 2 gadget for making eggs more easily for him. I thougt about an electric egg boiler... I thought about microwave omelette or scramble eggs... I just don't know what to buy that is good... And you talk about a stove steamer... Would you help me please... :)
I’ve always heard that steaming eggs instead of boiling them is the way to go for fresh eggs they peel much better I haven’t tried that yet I have Easter Eggers and I don’t seem to have any problem with their eggs peeling even fresh from the hen🌻💜🌻
Tina Yes steaming has been easier vs boiling for me. Lucky that you can boil yours with no problem. Do you have a special trick you use? I grew up being told to put salt in the water 🤷🏻♀️ for a better peeling.
@@LadysFarm I boil the water and then slide the eggs into the water cook them for approximately 10 to 11 minutes and then immediately put them into icewater to sit for another few minutes to cool down and that’s it with the Easter Eggers… But I have Black Moran‘s and Rhode Island Reds that the shells stick if they are too fresh with those eggs I will add around a tablespoon of baking soda To the water as it’s boiling add the eggs and when the eggs are done also dip them in ice cold water
I boil eggs by putting them in cold water in a saucepan, once it boils, turn it off, put the lid on and leave them to cook in the residual heat, about 15 mins. I usually put them in cold water to handle them easily. I have fresh quail eggs that cook and peel easily.
Hi Kenny the timer works with a thermal sensor that detects when the water has evaporated from the heat plate, signaling it to shut off automatically. It depends on how much water you put in the heat plate, if you want it to cook longer you’ll need to add more water. Hope this helps ♥️ sorry for the late response I had to dig out the cooker from the basement and all that good stuff and I’ve been busy on the Homestead 🥰 thank you for the comment
I just bought one from a thrift store but it didn't come with a measuring cup. Can someone tell me the measurements in cups for the soft, med. and hard boiled eggs? Please!!
it depend on how much water you add to it. It comes with a measuring cup that says herd, medium, or soft egg. The cooker turns off once the water is gone. I didn’t time it sorry 😞
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you were able to send it back or take it back to the store 😔 I haven't had any issues like that with this cooker. I not a sponsor with them so I can't help you out but I would try to send it back or call Customer Service.
oh man. I hope you healed well. yes steam in no joke. I always got to be careful also when I’m canning anything before taking off the lid. hot hot hot stuff.

Your funny.. It's a fun product if I had kids.. My husband said we will stick to our traditional ways lol.
haha I don’t blame him Barb 😂

That's a good idea about adding veggies to the omelet, I think that would make it less puffy. Thank you for watching and commenting 🥰

I might have to agree with your husband. The omelette looked good!
Haha it reminded me to much of school breakfast. It tasted good but I didn’t like the texture lol
Wow 😮 🥰🥰🥰👍😘😘😘
Maria I was impressed with the hard boiled eggs!
8:20 what is the best time? You said it was perfect.
You don't set the time. You fill to desired egg doneness and it stops when the water boils away
I’ve always heard that steaming eggs instead of boiling them is the way to go for fresh eggs they peel much better I haven’t tried that yet I have Easter Eggers and I don’t seem to have any problem with their eggs peeling even fresh from the hen🌻💜🌻

I haven't tried baking soda before ill have to give that a try. Thank you Tina for the suggestion🥰

I can do store bought eggs that way but my fresh eggs never peel right. I found steaming them worked better for me.
So you don’t have this egg cooker did you purchase this egg cooker the elite gourmet unit? It’s so much better than boiling eggs in water.
I have the egg cooker it was a gift
You said 12-17 minutes how do you know? 7:00
🙏🙏🙏
🥰🥰🥰
👍👍❤️🐣
Scott It was fun to use lol
Does your timer alarm continue to sound until you unplug it, or does the alarm go off alone? Mine continues to sound forever until I unplug it.
Same here
👍
MawMaw it was fun to try out. I was happy with it 😉
How does the timer work. Like how can we adjust how long it steams for?

I just bought one from a thrift store but it didn't come with a measuring cup. Can someone tell me the measurements in cups for the soft, med. and hard boiled eggs? Please!!
Hi Marsha
The measurements are 1/3 cup water for Hard boiled, 3 Tbsp for Med, and 1 1/2 Tbsp for soft boiled. Hope this helps ♥️
@@LadysFarm Thanks so much!
you are very welcome 🤗 🥰 thank you so much for watching my videos 🥰🥰🥰
IMPORTANT sanitize the needle after poking the eggs. No cross contamination of bacteria 😮
great tip Thank you ❤️
I came to find out how many minutes for hard boiled?
it depend on how much water you add to it. It comes with a measuring cup that says herd, medium, or soft egg. The cooker turns off once the water is gone. I didn’t time it sorry 😞
My poached egg was boogery on the bottoms so I don't think I'll use it for that ever again. I'm trying hard boiled in it right now. Well see..
I wasn’t a fan of the poached egg either. The hard boiled was great!!
I just bought a unit. the timer did not work. After 20+ minutes the unit was still on and no alarm !!
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you were able to send it back or take it back to the store 😔 I haven't had any issues like that with this cooker. I not a sponsor with them so I can't help you out but I would try to send it back or call Customer Service.
To anyone trying this be super careful with the hole on the lid that let's out steam I accidentally put my hand over it and got severely burned!
oh man. I hope you healed well. yes steam in no joke. I always got to be careful also when I’m canning anything before taking off the lid. hot hot hot stuff.
It worked for hard boiled eggs. But the poached eggs were awful
I agree lol ♥️
You were not supposed to fill the water to hard for omelette. The omelette mark is the same as the poached mark.
definitely make a video of your own if you feel strongly about it.
You totally skipped peeling those hard boiled eggs. 😞
I'm sorry. it is easy to peel with this machine if that helps. 😔
I went back to the video and the peeling the egg is at 7:40 in the video if you want to check it out
