Excellent video, I was very much getting into your opening narrative - I love Twilight’s Peak, I have run it 4 times since the early 1980s in the way you suggest - in little chunks, while other stuff was going on in a much wider campaign - the players have enjoyed it every time.

      Yes.
Yes. Also, most classic traveler modules occur in the Spinward Marches. If you have all the modules you can easilly just leave them scattered on the board. You could run 10 long term campaigns and no two groups would have an even remotely similar experience. But they'd ALL have fun.

i would recommend one module: High and Dry. It will teach you how to use skill checks to create an insane level of suspense. it's a short one and doesn't have a large cast of NPCs. It's easy on the GM.

I've never read it, but I did see the Seth Skorkowsky review. I respect his opinion, and he does seem to agree with you. th-cam.com/video/Tym86AcYwuU/w-d-xo.html
Again, I'm not a fan of modern module design. Too linear. Too many unimportant details that can easily be filled in during play. Too much skin. Not enough meat. But I do recommend Mongoose 2E, and a good starter module is worth its weight in gold.
We didn't have those back in the late 70's.

      Thanks!
For the record... I'm not a real TH-camr. I only make content that I want to make, when I want to make it. Not gonna make much money with that atitude. :-/
      It stays fun, though.

It would have been better to start with your defintion of a RPG.
Playing pretend isn't exactly a new concept.
What do you need to be classified as an RPG ?
    speaking in character
    using RNG for task resolution
    rules
    being published
    character sheets
    a setting
Each time I find anything close to a Braustein ruleset I find comment saying "That's not a Braunstein".
Even Baron of Braunstein wich is licensed by Wesley get those kind of comment.
And what do you think of Diplomacy then ?

I'm pretty sure that the term "role playing game" is just intrinsically subjective. I'm not sure I want to get bogged down in pedantry on this one. For the time being, I think I'm just going to accept that the term means different things to different people. and that's OK. What matters is that we be able to communicate to one another without allowing our academic, political, or religious disagreements to get in the way.
