2019 Nissan Micra first drive review

The latest Nissan Micra, released in 2017, had lots to like about it. But its engines… not so much. So now the Micra has some new engines, and a new N-Sport trim level. We went to Portugal to see if the new bits have improved things.

The body design is a vast, vast improvement on its mumsy‐looking predecessors. I like it a great deal, indeed I opine it's visually now t h e most attractive suopermini on the market. However, Nissan, your contender for my dosh doesn't quite cut it: on balance I've opted for the latest Renault Clio.

Under the hood Fiesta. Over the hood Micra. This car looks pretty decent. The Fiesta looks like a vacuum cleaner though.

The interior is nice, thou the exterior isn’t my cup of tea. I usually find that the micra drivers tend to be the ones who don’t know where they are going when they are driving. I remember once, when a micra come towards me, head on, on a big round about lol

No. It's an extra with the higher variants.

Cvt is efficient but morons want to feel it shift is a waste of power slowing momentum then cry about being slow. Why destroy a good design learn to drive a standard if you want to feel it shift

I had a test drive in one here in the uk as I liked the look but I have to say it's terrible, feels so cheap to drive, noisy engine, twitchy suspension and far too much noise I don't think there is any insulation in the rear wheel arches you can hear all the grit, stones etc flying up...only good thing was the light clutch.

It's a very nice looking econo box, you can buy one if you live anywhere in the World except for North America. We are stuck with the ugly other version of the Micra. Nissan actually spent double the money to make 2 kinds of Micras. A sleek modern and a bit sporty version and then the ugly cheap and dated looking bulbous North American one that nobody wants to be seen in.

Nissan is spending so much money to have 2 versions of a Nissan Micra. The nice sleek modern and sporty one sold around the World most likely, and the ugly Americas version.
