You Speke! I listen! You sing, and I listen too! Thanks for this!
Apologies if you knew, but @11.07secs, if you'd took that path to the left, it brings you directly into the rear of Speke Hall. I found this out totally by happy accident.
I was thinking the same thing! The WW2 firing range is 2 seconds away from the entrance to Speke hall XD
Love it when a video I've missed pops up. Great content Kieran.
A map of your journey would be a great addition via a link. I'm sure many would & do replicate said route.
Great video Kieran. Nice shots of the Runcorn Widnes bridge at the start. I like that don't shy away from the darker aspects of our shared history.
Wow...long way around to get into Speke Hall. You were a minute or two away from the path past the pond which would have brought you directly in front of the hall.
Brilliant video,
Wonderful. Thanks.
Brilliant Kieran and we got 2 sec of fame as well 😁 thanks for sharing
Lovely to see you. :)
Those steps at start of bimbble where a bit of a pain but at top of steps is a great view towards Hale and John Lennon airport
Great video ..keep them coming
Awesome video Kieran
Hi Kieran. Love watching your cycling videos as been to most of the places that you go to, do you need permission to visit the old Speke airport where the old planes are cheers?
I didn't have any. Theres no fences etc. I just looked purposeful. Ha
@@BimblismUK Hi Kieran Can you cycle off road from the airport to the lighthouse at Hale village cheers.
Yes you can go all the way from near Garston Docks to Hale. Search google for openstreetmaps and switch to cycle maps you'll see all of it. Its my favourite map :)
@@BimblismUK Cheers will take a look Kieran
I left Liverpool at the age of 17 to emigrate to Canada. When I left Speke had a bad reputation as being a dangerous place to go as violent gangs caused trouble on a regular basis. Has this changed over the years?
It certainly has calmed down i would say. :)
@scouser2230, I used to live in Penketh green in Speke until I left for the states in 1968. It was a rough place then. I went back a few years ago. The park was gone, the shops at The Parade were gone. In fact, there is a Morrisons supermarket on the site where Penketh green used to be. Where did you live? When did you leave?
@@LiverpoolGarden I lived in Halewood when we emigrated in 1966 after finishing my schooling at Gateacre Comprehensive.
@@scouser2230 I went to Childwall Valley H.S. and went through Gateacre Village on the 81 bus to get there. Even my high school is gone and has been replaced with a housing estate. ☹️
@@LiverpoolGarden I visited a school mate about five years ago and saw that Gateacre Comp had also been knocked down, and they were in the process of building houses on the site. It’s sad to see that the life of the schools’ of our day were so short. I went in to the Comp when it was first opened, brand new, and we had to attend a different school for the first year until it was built. The building only lasted 59 years, which isn’t very long for a building. I guess in those days they built in obsolescence into such facilities.
👍🇬🇧
Nice one Kieran, great vid. Nicely captured River Mersey tidal bore too. Did you decide to bring your summer bike out given the recent good weather?! 🚴🏼♂️
I found another British Eagle in the Cash Generator in Runcorn shopping city. £20, just needed a new brake cable!
Do you have any planed map walks of your bimmbles
Its in the pipeline. :)
Not speke it's hale
Speke hall and RAF Speke are in Hale?
Go back to Widnes
You would not get in the old airport now. Full of asylum seekers with security guards protecting them .
It was full of asylum seekers then all playing cricket while i was filming. :)
Just caught up with your Speke "bimble" fascinating. I chatted with you at Ashton St Oswalds recently, and would appreciate if you could let me know when you are posting the video of that bimble pls tks
It will be out at 6pm tonight. It was nice to talk to you. Thanks for watching. :)
Excellent. Tks Keiron .I am catching up on some of your earlier bimbles. Fascinating stuff. keep it up, and, perhaps treat yourself to an electric bike to make your trips easier. Safe travels.
You dove. Back round. To. Spekehall When you. We’re on. The runway. You could. Have. Went. Forward. And. You would av gone. Through. The gate. And. You. Would. Have. Been inside spekehall
