My ex gf moved to live in murdishaw from the hunter valley nsw Australia. Could you tell me about the are? It seems a lot cheaper to Sydney she bought a 3 bed place there for £65.000.
Great video, for all its foibles, Runcorn has some fantastic greenspace, walking/cycling routes and little hidden gems. And the world's first bus rapid transit system

I lived in Runcorn on Southgate from 1978-81, worked at ICI at The Heath and drank the best beer I've ever had in the Greenall's pub 'The Devi' on Ashridge Street (now turned into flats so I hear,, sadly). I remember taking my BSA motorbike to be fixed now and then to Widnes, taking in the sights of the Mersey - and the smells of the bone-rendering factory on the North side😊. Happy carefree days of more than 40 yrs ago.
I go past a lot of these locations everyday on my way to work. This video made me notice how nice the runcorn scenery is. Norton priory museum is also free for local residents, Or at least it used to be. Great video! Thanks :)
It was never free for all residents to visit the Priory.. Only those on the estate. We also live in Windmill Hill but other side of busway were charged to go in. Never bothered as so unfair.
What a great informative and very interesting video i live in Runcorn and while I do remember we have a castle😅 i didn't know about Preston Brook/Priest town and all the information about the water tower. Great job 👍

Amazing people 🙏 I visited the uk (started my journey with Runcorn as a foreigner and explored a lot of local wonderful places, Cheshire Oaks, and then moved towards Widnes, liverpool, Manchester and finally finished my trip with London and again liverpool ) amazing people and amazing places in the UK 🙏😊❤️ Bless u all 🙏😊❤️

Loved all your videos Kieren, I grew up in Runcorn from the the late 70’s to early 90’s then left for adventures to our southern hemisphere. Loved reminiscing over your videos because I rode every one of the routes you’ve filmed.

As I live in Liverpool, Runcorn is a stone throw away ... however, when I think of Runcorn all I get is roundabouts and the 1970s housing estate (a bit like Skem!) So you have enlightened me!.
It still is mate. I moved here when I was a kid from your neck of the woods and it's mostly a sh@thole.

Awesome vid Keiran.. my neck of the woods too .I cycle that route on the canal frequently on my home from work in the better months.... If I knew you were that flippant on spending your cash on priories entrance fees ..I'd have done you a deal on a cream tea ( that's a posh cake and a brew 🤣 ) at ours . Top Bimble and I've learnt something new again mate 👌
Very topical Kieran, Welsh water pumped into England has made the news recently with Lake Vyrnwy receiving special mention.
On a side note I remember a joke in which 'Prestatyn' was the punchline, I heard it back in the 1970's so you can possibly guess the tone and work the rest of it out from there.
Finally, be honest £8 won't go far when you look at the amount of creosote needed to keep that shed at Norton Priory weatherproof, consider it money well spent.

I live in runcorn
was at Preston Brook for a boat trip in 2018 . Is it true that Runcorn was a settlement in Anglo Saxon times also ? I just recall it being mentioned in the tv show The Last Kingdom a lot, but it looked like some place in Eastern Europe more than on the Mersey lol

I grew up in Runcorn and by the water tower. It's unfortunate that most of the town is now so deprived and has seen better days but I enjoyed my walks down the Bridgewater canal when I lived there.

Do you mean the Penny Ferry on Thelwall Lane? . Surely it's named after Thelwall Ferry? Or was the original Thelwall ferry which was on a loop in the Mersey at Thelwall Eyes run by Norton Priory?
