Attach the heads with allthread instead of the head bolts, so you can space the heads out from the deck. Then the LEDs in the cylinders will be more like under glow. Probably should use color selectable lights too.
I've got the inline-4 sibling of the NC30, the NC23 CBR400RR. Even without the V4 it still sounds pretty good, with gear-driven cams and a 14.5K redline. I think they're easier to get in AU than they are in the UK, and go for much less than the VFRs.
Use the 4 pistons to hold up the corners of the glass. Use a tough transparent plastic/rubber between the metal and the glass. There has to be something cool you can do with the gear shifter and shift links, like outside the engine. They are just too neat looking. Maybe get extra long bolts and space out the heads from the block so people can see down inside, or have the lights in the cylenders so light leaks out and it makes it more obvious where the pistons are (if you are going for unicorn vomit RGB you can set each piston alternating Red and Blue pulsing, like when the engine runs there is a 'fire' and 'exhaust' ). Cool build, like to see more when you finish it. Oh, dont forget to tig weld those pistons or other parts in place, friction fit and glass, no bueno. Just saw someone else made the same idea, guess its a good idea to try out lol
I like the idea of the engine coffee table with lights. It would be cool if you can get a little electric motor that would turn all the gears, pistons, etc with a flip of a switch. or even changing led lights from blue to orange, white for the 4 strokes :D
One thought I had is having one head off and one on. You could mount the table to the flat surface of the off head and keep the cool bits of the on head.
You can put the glass higher and into cylinder holes put bases for bulbs and your bulbs would just stick out above. And if you get those lovely old school wire bulbs in (led) that would look cool
Motor is not a static statue but moving beast. Lets show some movement. I would buy about 3-4cm high transparent plastic blocks and put them between the engine block and heads. Add electric motor to rotate cranckshaft slowly. And add yellow red led lights connected to valves. So they light up only on closed valves simulating explosions. Uncover head so you can also see camshafts opening valves. That would be so great :)
"...we found the holy grail..." in a husky spooky voice; LOL, hahaha (You entering the container with all these engines) At least you didn't take a wankel engine 🙂 Why don't you make some of the engine parts slowly running/moving under the glass plate coffee table; it is a GEORGEOUS drivetrain... you might have it driven with a small silent electro motor? The (small LED) lights would be even more effective & glittering when it's turning slowly?
Amazing, I pulled apart an FZ6 motor and am contemplating the same thing - same issues with tilt, head on or off, how to build it etc. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
Inbed a hidden speaker system into it the table so when you turn on the let's it samples a firebird engine startup, that doubles as a Bluetooth speaker system.
I had a 750 rc07, which had an 1100 older brother, which has a very handsome block and air cooling fins, maybe have another stab at it and sell one of the tables? I think the 1100 engine would look great!
Keep a wedge shape wooden plank under the sump to make the heads align. And could take a step further by putting the engine on a turn table. So that once done and the glass panel is kept an inch over the engine the engine can turn in circles giving a display to everyone on all sides. I'd also suggest you to try with asymmetry. Maybe keep only one head and the other side open. Anyways great content and cheers.
A NC23 and NC30 is being sold near me right now and I'm contemplation if I'd regret getting one since Id have to sell my current Svart 401 and use it as a daily and Im not sure how often parts would come by
Hey Chaos Causes, can you please do a video, or tell me about how to get the best sound captured when riding your bike? You did one like 5 years ago with the Zoom h1 i think. Thank your for all your videos with many tips and tricks! Greetings from Germany.
Ah, the good old days of the little 400 Hondas. When we were all still allowed to misbehave and political correctness wasn't a thing. Whatever you decide, it will still be cool - to those that appreciate engines 😁
this is the kind of content that may not appeal the mass but the real ones love it. excellent video keep it up
CC .YOU HAVE MORE TALENT THAN MOST OTHER UTUBERS ,GREAT VIDEO THANKS

Yep, my thoughts exactly.
Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing

Definitely use pistons and conrods as racks in the corners of the table. Both practical and beautiful.
One side with the head, the other with the pistons protruding to be level (connecting rods welded to the cylinders or something)

Nice. Looking forward to the finished product

Keep it up man, love your channel!
Brilliant project👍👏
Can’t wait to see the end result! 👏👏👏

cant wait to see how you get on
I love the idea, great video.
Thanks for another awesome video chaos
Great video man
If you put led lights into cyclenders u can run software to rotate a red light among 3 blue lights to simulate the firing order.
Or 2 red and 2 blue w/e honda uses.
Inbed a hidden speaker system into it the table so when you turn on the let's it samples a firebird engine startup, that doubles as a Bluetooth speaker system.
Drop a fog machine in the center of the engine where the crank should be for the startup we are now creating.
Lastly an always on fuel light.

Never seen you without your cap🤙👍
Hey man, love your content. 🏍❤
Nice idea for multistrada owners❤️
cool idea, can't wait for the next video!!!
Lekker video, definitely use the rods and pistons for the corners of the table, if possible.
Keep on keeping on!
Perhaps you can put bulbs in spark plug holes... Just a question: how much did you pay for the engine(in rand).. i would love to try build my own
NOOO ITS A 2 PART JOB, I WAS ENJOYING IT SO MUCH 😂😅
A NC23 and NC30 is being sold near me right now and I'm contemplation if I'd regret getting one since Id have to sell my current Svart 401 and use it as a daily and Im not sure how often parts would come by
Oh man I have an old Honda Shadow engine sitting around as a lawn ornament but this is a way better idea!
Love your content
u can put a electric motor on de driven gear so that the cam spin in ur table
Pick a old motorcycle and make a cafe racer from it. And give it a life with you taste. Love you videos. 🖤
Haha I have the same espresso cups! They're great, aren't they?
Use some of these parts to make a keychain

I’d still record it the same way today! It’s a good method even 5 years later 🙌🏻
@@ChaosCauses Thank you!
finally saw him without his hat on
How do you de-grease?
how much was the engine?
Looking forward to this coffee table build: you have a very patient GF to allow this in the house. How is her finger doing?
Undoubtedly.
