    Very nicely done. I am a Perfumer I met Jean Kerlioin In Versailles. He is the ultimate gentleman. So talented and so kind. The House of Patou was the epitome of classic French Perfumery. You cannot beat the quality. Not to be a snob but don’t forget Patou is pronounced “patoo”. Thanks for sharing your collection.

      My Texan accent is the constant source of bickering amongst the perfumed crowd... one gal even said she unsubscribed due to my terrible French 😂
      So while i promise to try my best sometimes the inner Texan in my comes out 🤠

    I am in agreement with Luca Turin that Sublime is Kerleo’s greatest composition. The parfum is an incomparable chypre. vintage EdT is my favorite to wear and irisy EdP is best for women, all 5⭐️. Avoid the P&G juice. The rectangular reissue is 4 stars, wearing EdT now! great quality and I like the evernyl but Australian spike sandalwood just isn’t the same. They say the elder perfumer consulted on it.

      Most of my collection is masculines but I randomly got a vintage EdT mini on Fragrancenet in 2010 and now it is my all-time favorite juice.

    I really need to do know how you revive these vintages that are decades old . They would actually all smell slightly rancid or really off. I have Fendi donna and ala scala that I couldn't bare to dispose . Wondering is there a way to freshen them up. But I would recommend you Fendi Donna. It's to die for.

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never smelled fendi donna! I will put on the to sniff list! Unfortunately once a fragrance has "turned" i dont know of anyway to go back.. however I have only had that happen to me once and it was with a vintage citrus fragrance... usually the citrus fresh notes are more volatile and dont keep as well... the key is storage throughout the fragrances life .. it should be kept in a cool dark place & without sunlight on the bottle... if the one you have is turned might be time to juse give up on that one and try and get a "New" vintage bottle 😊

    I don't know much about the links between Jean Kerleo and Jean-Michel Duriez but I remember seeing an interview with JMD once where he said the original Yohji Homme was based around an aromachemical called Levistamel. To my nose Levistamel smells like caramel with immortelle, licorice, maple syrup and woody undertones. It was also used in Rochas Man according to Maurice Rousel.

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow did not know that... thanks for sharing... I have rochas man... maybe i should do a comparison one day 👍

    • @andrijz2477
      @andrijz2477 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to own a mini of the vintage Yohji Homme about 10 years ago but sold it as I could barely smell anything. I thought it has gone bad but the person who bought it said it smelled exactly as they remembered it. Must seek a sample of it out again as perhaps I was just anosmic to it at the time. I recall Luca Turin saying they'd used a fennel/anisic replacement in the reformulation. I can definitely notice the use of Levistamel in New Haarlem though and that is often compared to Rochas Homme and is also by Roucel. Oddly enough Jean Michel Duriez also did work for Rochas at one point.

    Do you have any suggestions on fresh minty aromatic fragrances that stay that way during most of the life of the fragrance???
    And nothing thar has that toothpaste or candy mint smell either lol lol lol

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very few minty fragrances that stay minty throughout the life of the fragrance because mint is usually meant to be an annoucement of the fresh opening & then help transition to the mid & base..off the top of my head you could try live jazz, cartier roadster & geranium pour monsieur... i will do a this is Not a top episode on Mint one day soon 👍

    Uncanny timing, today's sotd Ma Liberte while yesterday a 1984 bottle of Joy. I felt like a change and it's been 2 days of brilliamce. That original Lacoste I had and yes what a great freshie, wore it when I was 18-19yrs then moved on to Guerlain's Vetiver which I've loved ever since. Thanks for another great one on an overlooked name, but what exquisite fragrances!

      @@RamseytheRam i had a balance on Mercari for a Roja I sold so used all of it to purchase this one. Yes it is a edt with approximately 75% of the juice left according to the seller. The cost $450. Yes that is not cheap. They have another on the site asking price $856 labeled as a Pour Homme Prive but they take reasonable offers.. Not sure what the difference is.

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Completely different fragrance between patou pour homme & patou pour homme privé.. dont buy the privé buy the ma liberte EDP i showed towards the end of the Jean Kerléo video today instead. It is 80% Patou Pour Homme privé (maybe even better🤔 i will do a comparison video soon) at a tenth of the price. You got a heck of a deal if you got 75 ml worth of juice for 450 bucks of the EDT ... seriously congrats I hope you love it... it is one of the best masculine fragrances of all time but be aware it isnt a screemer or shouter.... everything is perfectly balanced... perfectly weighed & macerated.. the real mysore sandalwood is the treat its so creamy with depth moden fragrances just cant match... seriously I hope you love it and congrats .. 450 bucks is a lot of money but I thought you were gonna say 30ml or something.. for 75 ml you got a steal 🥳
