Props for Eau de Rochas. I have the same icecube capped bottle. Have no doubt that Cavallier was taking notes when he made L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme that same year (to be released the year later). Love how he did the florals in that one too. Has that same aromatic touch that Olivier Cresp put in the original L'eau par Kenzo (the "hat" bottle). Somehow I really enjoy how mint and lotus were used in the 90s to give that aquatic connotation. All of that mostly abandoned it seems these days for citron, cashmeran, DHM, amber xtreme, and ambroxides. Where we used to make-a-da perfume, now we make-a-da mahney. Grrrrrazie.
After watching this I can't help but notice that never a truer saying 'Life imitates Art'....... Rewind to 1503, nice painting of a young maiden with a cheeky grin.....Fast Forward to 2022 you have to book a slot, pay a princely sum and queue for hours to see this must see work of art and it truly is a cheeky little grin! Rewind to 1990 Eddy Rouds releases Ocean Rain..... it's nice but there's so much others out there literally muscling it out the way leaving it relinquishing on dusty pharmacy shelves or relegated to the bargain bins😪 Fast Forward ⏩ 2022,the Professor mentions it on his channel and that damp squib from 1990, you try and get a bottle! #TheRamseyeffect, it's a thing...trust me. Loving where you're taking us Ramsey, what's more it's never ending! Have a great weekend.
Thank you Simon... well you led the way on Ocean Rain! 🌊🌧 Sometimes a shepherd has to follow his flock... thank God I have the most knowledgable flock around 😂🐏
WOW at last someone talked about Voyaguer which is my favorite Perfume of all time since I was in middle school, I had at least 4-5 bottles of it most of 50 ml, and a couple of 100ml. So glad you gave it the credit.
@@RamseytheRam probably gotta sniff Chloe's 'EDP intense' . It ain't aquatic but it's liked the smell of bubbles against your face while swimming with dolphins and belugas whale in the bioluminescence night Ocean.🤣👌👍 discontinued of course ☝️ that's what they always do .
Ummmm I am torn most of them yes... but I did really like Richwood...not enough to buy a bottle but if you watch my first impression you will notice I thought the ingridients smelled high class
I wore Antaeus (silver sprayer) the other day in Rome/Italy at 34C/93F. So far I haven’t tried any fragrance that I didn’t like in the heat - quite the opposite.
Love the list , intrigued with the voyager at the end and intrigued to see what partial ya got from the Areej line ,oh yeah I haven’t forgotten lol 😝 cheers smell ya later Rams 👍🙏✌️
Been waiting patiently for that AlD to arrive ...hopefully soon... I bought it off an ind. seller I have never used before ..and yes you should scoop up a bottle of Voyageur just for the unreal ingridients vs the price tag 😊
Bahar means spring in Farsi which is passed into many other languages in near geography. Arabs are using it for the flowers on dessert after first spring rains. Also on many countries Bahar is used for spices. When i check it's note listing, i saw a market stand in a spice bazaar near sea... just like Spice Bazaar in Fatih Istanbul
Not the biggest fan of Calone. I kinda have an aversion to it. I tried enjoying Polo Blue many times, but it just eventually ends up bothering me. Just spritzed on a little of AdG Profondo. Ummm, I don't know. Out of all in that line, I like it best. I like Profumum Romas Aqua di Sale. I think that's the one. It might be Aquae Noblis, I'm not sure. I still have good samples from Oswald's, but Joisey and her damn writing, it's hard to tell. I do like South Bay by The Different Company. The opening grapefruit is ultra-realistic, but that fades quickly.. I Profumi di firenze Costa Mediterranea. I have that. Ya know. Their Patchouli Rosso is potent. Earthy potent. My friend said I smell like compost that you put in your garden. I don't have that, but I do have Brezza di Mare. It's supposed to be, well it's more like an upgraded version of that DSqaured Wood. The one that has all that iris. Wood, where's all the wood. Anyways, I purchased these because I did want an Aquatic, but I didn't want a Chrome/PoloAdG, etc, because of my aversion to calone. I did check out Profumum at Osswald's and they don't carry Aqua di Sale, but they do have Aquae Noblis. Benegas has Aqua di Sale for a price, but no Aquae Noblis. I have to check my samples again, under a magnifier glass. If I can't decipher her writing, I'll just get samples, then wait for a deal. So Horizon's OK. Still priced right. I have Kenzo Sport? Got it free with a purchase. I was surprised. Missed out on a great deal of Trussardi Action. I have that bottle of Guerlain Homme. I like it. I got their Boise in that bottle also. Nobody wanted them. You know me, I'll take it. Especially for the price. I have a small Hugo Sport. I like it. Just bookmarked Voyageur. Thanks for the upload.
Thanks Eddie I know what you mean ... every time I try to get my self to love an acquatic scent it bugs me too... but I am going to try spirit of Dubai Acquatic fresh clean scent tomorrow and see what I think of it on skin 🌊
Hey Ramsey! Great video, as always. One thing I'm wondering about Millessime Imperial is that how come Pierre Bourdon worked with Creed again after the GIT incident. And the following Cool Water comeback. I haven't read the Ghost Perfumer yet but any clues as to how these guys ended up working together again after ten years?
Yes the book talks about Pierre Bourdons sensitivity due to his father that he just couldnt handle the rejection.. Olivier creed would come in and just scoop them up 🤷♂️
Some faves: Osaito by M. Micallef, Matin d'Ete by Place des Lices, Oceane by L'Aromarine (company name now Outremer), Aquawoman by Rochas, L'eau d' Issey by Issey Miyake , Marine by Christiane Celle Calypso, Oltre by Laura Tomato , La Source by Crabtree & Evelyn, Wood Sage & Sea Salt by Jo Malone. I love marine/oceanic scents!
I loooooooove Neroli Sauvage. I knew it smelled the same as Eau de Rochas Homme, but I didn’t realize the latter came out a year before it. Now it makes sense. Eau de Rochas femme is also stunning. Even more so in my opinion. When you describe the fizzy antiseptic quality of Ocean Rain, it makes me think of EdR femme. It has this solar sun bleached quality that I could see be described in a similar way. Regarding Ocean Rain, how much would you say it is alike to Diorella? It’s one of my favorite scents and so I am intrigued. The mention of rose in the fragrantica reviews make me feel like there is a stark difference because there isn’t a prominent rose in Diorella imo.
There are some similarities to Diorella for sure... just like I think there are similarities to Diorella in Le Parfum de Thérèse by Frederic Malle.... Edmond Roudnitska the master
This spring I've had a real hankering for a good masculine tropical fragrance thats beachy/vacationy. I already have Creed VIW, MI, Erolfa and some Louis Vuitton decants, but nothing has hit the spot yet.
53:54 i still have my original 100ML bottle of voyageur.. i dont used it often since it was a gift to me and i dont see it in a perfume section in the malls so im kinda saving it and just use it for special occasions
I have a 50ml bottle and blessed to have it... it is officially discontinued ... created by one of the legends in the perfume community too Michel Almairac 🤌🤌🤌

I got Caron pour Homme after your recco (black cap). I really enjoy it but along with Milano Cento I find it really weak on my skin. It just fades away after couple of hours and become a skin scent.
Really? Sorry to hear that.. give it some time for more air to get into the bottle .... hopefully it geta stronger for you.... I dont have that problem with mine 🤷♂️

I don't say fragrances are over hyped too often. However, CREED VIW is one the most over hyped fragrances I've smelled. Performance is terrible and it doesn't really have a base. Luckily, I didn't blind buy it. Got a sample from the Creed counter. Was not impressed especially considering the price.

Ocean Rain reminds me of the ending of Rihanna's ' Diamonds ' music vid while she was floating in the middle of a dark Ocean . Love.👍👍

Wow it's a full year from your last "vintage summer" vid, I remember listening to this during a long car drive, how time flies Jesus
Another one coming up soon.. although since it's vintage I guess this will always be relevant lol
Hello Ramquatic.
Here we go with summer fragrances !
For this summer I wear Xerjoff - Renaissance.
Very elegant citrus.
Not the biggest Xerjoff fan ... however I really like Xerjoff Homme... amazing juice that one 🍻
