Rich I was very surprised today, I had on Heritage late afternoon, I put on 1982 chanel Antaeus and I can tel you the two together smells a little like Patou so I'm saving my pennies both ways
You threw me with that Patou, just watched the rest....but also those mini's are great too! That Shiseido Nombre Noir don't know if you remember I commented that I found some on holiday recently and for a very good price. I bought a 60ml for £ 153 or thereabouts. Lovely lovely dark rose. Reminds me of another classic 70's scent that was popular. The prices here for NN are ridiculous, their mark up is criminal. That Bally is equally a rare sight, that has something for everyone at each stage. Jean Marc Sinan to me is quite similar to the Halston you have there, the female marketed scent with a crescent moon top is worth a sniff.. Nina Ricci's so overlooked, there's some interesting ones in that line up too. Enjoy the mini's, you're right it's a travesty. They were the samples you were given on each purchase back in the day, sometimes I'd get as much as 6 from one purchase, always worth charming the SA! Even seeing the design of the bottle in mini form could be enough to pique your interest. You could always do a shocker announcement video yourself... Downsizing my collection! And then just show your bureau with nothing but your collection of mini's , make a great April Fools video! Cheers.

After about a year and used very little of it, I sold it to a good friend. 20 years later he gave it back to me and still had half a bottle left of the original one I sold him in 84. I has a unique strong sharp smell and reminds me of crisantinums (sp). When I started eBay, I sold to for like $100. to a collector 10 years ago. I now wish I kept it or asked for more. It was like the 3.4oz. or 4oz. Boat shape bottle. You might be smelling or have what could’ve been mine at one time.
Oh, speaking of vintage fragrances, I just found a full 3.4oz. sample bottle of Calvin first cologne for $130. including shipping. They also had a vintage bottle of Chanel Anteaus for the same price, but I chose the Calvin bc I feel it more rare.

Sunny was very generous and included two samples with my purchase of an 8ml '80s Chanel Coco, one of which was Serge Lutens' Fleurs d'Oranger, which I have yet to try but I think wasn't your cup of tea? I check his site regularly and had spotted these. I love the VO bottle and completely see the reference to Star Wars. Looking forward to your thoughts about the ones you've yet to try.
I don't think this is a very special find or fragrance......that is a rarity amongst rarities, truly, truly a more than special find and it's a Patou! I've not found one I don't like. That you found it in that condition too... that's something else. I can't tell you the number of times I've searched and thought I found one, only to find once you get to the site it's 'Out of Stock' which it has been for ages. There's some squat bottles of aftershaves and they command a premium too. But in that presentation, as you know that's a rare sight. I bet your finger hit buy before your mind precessed the cost! I've done that before. Have you tried Ma Liberté? It's a beauty too imo.
