Hi Dan, I have the EDT and it is glorious. I know the aftershave can be a greenie smell. I can assure you, you need to try the EDT. Make sure its in good condition, not yellow, not brownie yellow but it needs to look a very pale yellow with a hint of green like its watered down. And it looks very bright in the bottle. What I am talking about is very difficult to find and it will not be aged.
J. Patou and J.Kerleo .... a true Dream Team . Among my favorites is Sublime and for Lacoste , Lacoste Eau de Sport and Lacoste Jean Patou . Both fresh and energizing after + 30 years . Which speaks for the quality of the ingredients used . Please seek and try Lacoste Eau de Sport .Much more versatile and I find its not as outdated as your current " Holy Grail " which is without a doubt ..for and from another Era .
Pretty sure you will love it. I do remember when it was on Miami Vice and a friend's dad saying that Dunhill Edition (in the green bottle) was better. As a teen in the 80's, I didn't like any of the fougeres. as I only wore chypres without knowing what that even was (Royal Copenhagen, Polo)
Your friend's dad was right. Dunhill Edition was then, and is still, the most undervalued scent I've ever come across. Back then my three choices were Dunhill Edition, Polo and Eau Sauvage. I was a complete ignoramus, (still am) but that's the company I put it in.
Great to see this video! I love the vintage unboxing....I based my channel videos on this. I have Patou PH Prive....I don't think it's worth the hype because there are similar scents out there, as you mentioned.
Dan, you should get yourself a Leatherman Bond Heritage multi-tool for the unboxing. Beautifully made tool for a gentleman. Congratulations on the latest edition to your collection.
Great video, my question is when you order a fragrance from 1980 and beyond how likely are they to stay true to the original scent? Is there a big chance they could have turned? I was watching this with anxiety 😅 😉
Yes true, I guess the ingredients were better back in the day but how the old classics would have been stored for all that time would be a great concern as to whether the fragrances would be half decent 😅👍
At one time I was looking for the original Jean Patou Pour Homme . Way too difficult to get. So I bought a decant of the recent version, from the Collection Heritage released in 2013, which apparently is completely different than the highly sought after OG. And that recent version was a major disappointment. My review of that starts: "Lol, the new Heritage Collection Jean Patou Pour Homme is being ripped to shreds in the Fragrantica page reviews. According to the majority, especially those who are familiar with the 1980 OG, perfumer Thomas Fontain and the Jean Patou brand should be ashamed of themselves....."

Great unboxing/first impressions video and I enjoyed it and I can't wait to see the full review when you test it out and have a blessed night
Congratulations on your new baby Dan! 😂 you can’t beat a vintage frag imo. Hope you enjoy it with more wearings
Been waiting for this Dan !

Congratulations Dan 🎉. Who did you get this bottle from?? Does he sell to other people? Very curious. Thanks and keep it up
Definitely excited to get your extended thoughts on this one in an update. 👍
Thank you!
5:19 I like that soundeffect!
Thanks

From my experience its a " hit and miss" . Who has not bought some "vintage " frags where the color has darkened or the top notes have soured .
Yes true, I guess the ingredients were better back in the day but how the old classics would have been stored for all that time would be a great concern as to whether the fragrances would be half decent 😅👍
This begs the question. If something is so rare and unique, do you use it faster than the other fragrances?
I will use it quite often I think. I won’t save it.
Nice score sir!
Thank you!
It is an amazing fragrance.
poivre = pepper, sure you've looked it up already. malabar is just good old fashioned black pepper.
I own the edt & the after shave both are fantastic but different from each other's! The edt has more depth & last longer! Bye

240 Pounds? Fook me. That's a lot of clean drinking water

Ooh yea....
Poivre = pepper
Jealous.😂
Haha
Never meet your heroes.
Now to sit and stare at it for years but never use it because it's worth a billion dollars
Ha! No I will use it often.
