many years later (2024) here I am fixing my old iPad. This tutorial is the best I’ve seen 🤣 thank you!!!! Everything worked out so well. No more cracks!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️THANK YOU for your video. By far the best one on YT. I checked out several and yours was the BEST!! Great explanation, attention to detail. Clean, clear close ups and specific instructions. I have 2 of these and I fixed both this weekend. Ordered my kits online, spent roughly $30.00 (unfortunately, not your kit but close to it) and now our iPads are like new!!! You saved me a couple hundred dollars!!! Key to those wondering or viewing this....listen to what he tells you. Every bit of it is accurate, down to placing a stack of books and applying pressure to let the adhesive bond to the surface overnight. I did all of it and we have two like "new" tablets!!! Do your prep. Get your tools ready. Take your time. Watch this video several times before and during the repair. If you follow the instructions, your repair will work. Again..THANK YOU so much for the video!!!👍
It's safer if you use packaging tape to cover all of the glass initially and then cut around the border with a razor before you start the repair. This prevents glass shards from flying towards the face.
I've reviewed several videos of how to replace my cracked screen on my iPad 4 and you go into details the others did not which is greatly appreciated. Tried to go to the icracked website but get an error message each time. Thank you for a great video that goes into detail others omitted. Thank you
Thanks for this excellent tutorial. The lcd of the Ipad 4 was damaged and my sister-in-law very sad (no backup or icloud). As a beginner I followed the instructions, but sadly crushed the digitizer (too haste I think). After replacing both the digitizer and lcd, I started up the Ipad 4 and looked into the face of my brother-in-law! Everybody happy! My sister-in-law got some of her memories back and I was proud doing the job!
5 Stars! I viewed a number of iPad 4 repair videos. This was the best of all I have seen - very thorough and careful. High quality camera work on the fine detail steps! Includes great tips such as safety glasses and gloves during the appropriate steps. I had glass chips hitting my face on some of the removal around the shattered parts. Thank you!
Yes, this was a useful video. Fixed my iPad 4 fairly easily. It fell off of my bed and onto my hardwood floor. From now on it stays in the center if the bed. My gf was going to take it to the store to get it fixed but this video saved us the trip.
after finding out the local mobile repair guy didn't have a good reputation. I ordered the Icracked kit from amazon and watched this video as I was fixing mine. It turned out great thank you for the video!
Great video dude! Very detailed. Just changed the screen on my iPad 4. Most frustrating part is getting the home button ribbon back in place. A tweezer would have made my time so much easier. But I was able to do it without. Thanks again!!
Thank you for your video, it helped me to do my first ever screen replacement. Took me a while but got there. I made the mistake of buying a screen without the home button assembly but I just swapped out the home button assembly from the damaged screen. I also applied a little too much heat in certain areas and warped the bezel in a few places which I had to cut out.
Excellent video. I was given 2 old iPads to use in class which had problems with areas of the touchscreen not working. have just repaired them both without issue and can now use in class with children. 🎉
I can't thank you enough for your thoroughness. I have watched MANY videos from others. I followed a different video and he didn't make the point of d/c'g the battery (Mini-iPad), ending with a fried backlit fuse on the circuit board. Thank you so much as this iPad v4 for my step-son is operational. So, thanks to you, one of two successful made the day :)
Great video. Precise and consice and easy to follow. We cracked our ipad 4th generation to a splintered mess. Always up for a challenge, we ordered a replacement and voila!! Like new. Thank you
This video provided me more details about exactly what to do versus other videos that I have viewed on an iPad4 screen replacement. My first replacement was botched because I did not get enough details on wire routings and how finally seal the glass to the iPad frame. I appreciate this video show both the teardown and re-assembly steps, not just teardown.
Cheers! I'm a compete novice at everything electronic, and this video took me from a cracked, entirely unresponsive digitizer, to a working iPad, with only two hours of rewinding to watch parts again.
My son has broken the screen about 3 times and my cousin knows someone who can fix it. I ted to buy the parts and they fix it. after the 4th time I though I would give it a go myself. worked flawlessly. Many thanks
This was great instructions. This was my first time to try and salvage an iPad on my own. The instructions were very thorough and now I've got a "new" iPad! Thank you so much
Hi I liked your explanation about replacing the digitized screen in Ipad 4th generation, so very detailed .I have a question, instead of the heat gun , can I use a hair blower to separate the screen from the frame lcd ipad if it is safe and ok, and it will blow same amount hot air that need it? Thank you for the video
Only thing I would add, and perhaps someone mentioned already, but warn people about the area to the right of the home button. I wedged the guitar pick between the glass and the speaker plastic cover and damaged the foam like material just right of the home button and under plastic guard. Speaker still works but I have a high place in the glass in that area now which causes glass not to fully seat in that area. Other than that works great.
Greetings from sunny Gibraltar, thank you so much for this incredibly well informed tutorial, the detail and explanation is superb, I felt so empowered after watching it, that I have ordered a digitizer to replace my smashed one. By the way, do you have one on replacing the digitizer on an Ipad Pro 11 Model A1980 need to change this one too, completely smashed to smithereens. All the best Abby
I changed the screen put in the cables correctly computer see it but no apple logo, was working before I changed to put the old one back on to see if its the new screen but still the same. black screen no apple logo. loved the way you changed the screen and the magnifying insert for the digitizer was great, if anybody knows s what wrong gave as a shout.
Very informative, thank you. I've only just cracked my screen and needed information on how to replace it, this is the video I will be using to help me. 👍🏼😊
and here I am ***FBI cult member here torturing my mind...they broke my ipad...knew id be here...and posted this using a name like HOLLOWAY...More evidence here for the courts!
Thank you so much - what an absolutely brilliant tutorial. You have enabled me to save hundreds of GBP. (I knocked my wife's iPad a distance of about 12", from the sofa to the floor. They shatter so easily, don't they? ...and it was in a 'protective' case.)
Great video i really benefited from, i looked at another video for replacement but turned out to crush in, then i looked at this video luckily i fitted in my ipad 4 which saved me around £40
Dude. You are a fucking life saver. I created a TH-cam account just to thank you for showing me about those clips to hold the ribbons in. I couldn't get the ribbons in based on another video I saw bc it didn't show this. Also, the other video shows an iPad without a cracked screen coming out soooo easily. Where mine came off like yours. Thanks again. You saved me about 700 bucks as I thought I had to buy someone a new iPad
Good detailed video. I agree the camera work was wonderful. I noticed the lower RH corner didn't seem to be filed or bent back. How did you get the new bezel to sit along with the new glass with that pushed in ? I've either had to file it down or use the back end of the metal spudgers to reshape the corner for the glass not to "pop" when pressed.
Thank you very much for a great video because of your expertise and knowledge it made my job replacing the screen on my Apple iPad 4 with Wi-Fi and cellular much easier with a professional look once again thank you very much and keep up the great videos Frank
The small grey bit that covers the flex cable where it connects broke. I can still get the flex cable seated and can close the door but the tape is covering it. Will that make any difference?
Cara o vídeo me ajudou e muito, foi essencial na troca do LCD do meu IPAD. Muitíssimo obrigado. Thanks a lot dude, your video helped me change my LCD whitout a problem. Thank you very much. PS: I'm brazilian subscriber/follower of yours. One more time, thanks a lot!!
Well you make it look a lot easier than it is :) Many thanks for this video, I wouldn't have attempted it without it. Just knowing what to look out for is worth more than I can say. Yes the glass was damn hard to get out and best if you get a kit with a new plastic bezel that way you don't have to worry about damaging the one that is in there. Your kit looks like the one to get, might cost a bit more but it will be worth it. I had to get one real quick and that was from Sydney, the kit wasn't as good, but with your instruction I completed it successfully and the daughter will have a revived I-Pad 4 in the morning. Thanks again for the great instructional video.
most people wouldnt think the safety glasses is a big deal but trust me i did a repair on an ipad 2 one time and i got glass in my eye, thank God i got it out but it wasnt fun, be safe!
i tried this yesterday, and it was mostly easy to do. i have misplaced the screw that holds down the logic board to the battery. the iPad no longer powers up now. forgive me for seeming naive, i havent worked on apple products before. is the screw holding down the logic board essential for the ipad to boot up? or should i be looking at other areas, such as replacing the battery. thank you for everyone/anyone that replies.

Me too bro! 😂
Thank you for this video post. It helped me fix my iPad as good as new.

Thanks for the good tip, i'll try it next time.
Exactly!! I got glass in my eye on my first repair. Since then my first step is to cover the entire glass with clear tape.
Haligon ovenlight
And then put a hot air blower on it ?? DUH!

gloves are critical. if you touch the LCD screen with your oily fingers its game over. you will have a perm water mark. I've done it

Definitely the most detailed tutorial I have come across. Nothing was left out and I had no questions that he did not answer.

A quick question please .. is the bezel is necessary or could just replaced it with the adhesive only ??
This video saved me about 100 bucks! Ipad looks amazing!

Excellent tutorial, THX!

thank you for everyone/anyone that replies.
The battery connector is not strong enough to hold itself in there so it needs that screw to hold it in
