Just replaced mine, worked great. Another couple tips, make sure the ribbon cables are pushed in completely tight and test before sealing it up. Finally, you will need to reboot the iPad by holding both the home and power buttons.

for those installing a new touch screen. Make sure you remove all the old adhesive first. I find I get a way better bond when i completely remove all the old adhesive and start with a fresh clean surface for the new adhesive to bond too.
So why in every other video removing the screen, does the screen break and crumble away as you remove it, but in your video it's like running a hot knife through butter? Was this an actual screen removal with the original adhesive?

A rule i follow is hot enough to be uncomfortable to the touch but not enough to cause a burn. You want to go between the glass and plastic bezel, not the plastic bezel and aluminium housing.

To verify the model, there is a number that begins with "A" followed by 4 digits on the back of your device. If you google the model number, this will verify whether it is a 3 or 4. Some of the parts are interchangeable between these models, that is why it may say "3,4".
+JoeV1998 Carefully peel the ribbon from the digitizer, slide an opening tool(sesamo, playing card, guitar pick) under the two sides of the home button bracket pop out the physical button. clean the bracket of the ld adhesive and apply new adhesive and transfer it to the new digitizer. What if you're just replacing the LCD? Can you reuse the glue from the original screen?

go to the back of your ipad and look for the model # then type that model# on google, and it should tell you what gen it is.
