    Just replaced mine, worked great. Another couple tips, make sure the ribbon cables are pushed in completely tight and test before sealing it up. Finally, you will need to reboot the iPad by holding both the home and power buttons.

    for those installing a new touch screen. Make sure you remove all the old adhesive first. I find I get a way better bond when i completely remove all the old adhesive and start with a fresh clean surface for the new adhesive to bond too.

    So why in every other video removing the screen, does the screen break and crumble away as you remove it, but in your video it's like running a hot knife through butter? Was this an actual screen removal with the original adhesive?

    • @Fixez
      @Fixez  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We perform multiple tear downs to show different repair process on the iPad. As you stated the original adhesive is very strong and will take more work to remove. We apologize for any confusion. Our purpose here is to show a removal process that you would take to remove the screen on the device.

    So if it's just my screen that is smashed and I can still see pictures (I.e I'm watching this thru it) then I can just chang the glass. Am I correct?

    • @Fixez
      @Fixez  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mari Douglas Correct, you would just want to replace your touch screen. As the LCD is not damaged, no need to replace it.

    Hi, thanks for the informative upload. I was wondering how important is it to ensure all of the
    Regions adhesive is removed before replacing the screen? Do I have to scrape all of it off? I'm mainly worried of potentially damaging something while scraping as I've heard that it's difficult to remove. Thanks in advance for the reply...😊

    • @Fixez

      +IndoEireannGirl It's recommend to clean the surface as best you can. This way when you add the new component, it sits as flush as possible similar to how you received it from the factory.

    If just the front glass is a little cracked shall I go through all the steps or just take of the plastic screen and replace it?

    • @Fixez
      @Fixez  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mirza Executioner_HD You would want to follow the guide as shown up until the touch screen is completely removed. The flex cable connection is under the LCD.

    how hot does Iit have to be I used both a blow dryer and heat gun and I feel like I'm not getting it right. Do I go completely against the grey case or is there a slot in the black area I have to split it?

    • @Fixez
      @Fixez  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +John Pickard (f012s4k3n0n3) You'll want to use enough heat to soften the adhesive, but not enough to melt the plastic bezel. A rule i follow is hot enough to be uncomfortable to the touch but not enough to cause a burn. You want to go between the glass and plastic bezel, not the plastic bezel and aluminium housing.

    • @Fixez
      @Fixez  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jasmine Helme (Polyclayxxx) Double check your flex cables to ensure they are seated properly. You can also perform a hard reset, hold the home button and power button for ten seconds. If the issues continue, it's possible you have a faulty screen replacement.

    • @meinnyc
      @meinnyc 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it happened to me yesterday too. the cable must be perfectly attached in its socket. it might look like that it's correctly attached but a tiny move can stop it from working. so push it as much as you can without breaking it do it with extreme caution.

    Please help me. Im using ipad 4. There is a part of the screen that when you touch it, it doesnt respond but some part of the screen responds. Example when you type then you press the letter U but it doesnt type it in the screen but some of the letters respond. Please help. Thanks

    • @Fixez
      @Fixez  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sean Patrick Borge You can attempt a hard reset by holding the power button and home button for ten seconds. No data will be lost but it sounds like a defective touch screen. Replacing your iPad 4 Touch screen replacement would resolve this if the hard reset does not work.

    Does anybody know how to tell the difference between an iPad 3 and 4 because on any website it says 3,4 well that helps:) so please tell me

    • @Fixez
      @Fixez  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      To verify the model, there is a number that begins with "A" followed by 4 digits on the back of your device. If you google the model number, this will verify whether it is a 3 or 4. Some of the parts are interchangeable between these models, that is why it may say "3,4".

    • @UltraAtomic1
      @UltraAtomic1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      go to the back of your ipad and look for the model # then type that model# on google, and it should tell you what gen it is.

      +JoeV1998 Carefully peel the ribbon from the digitizer, slide an opening tool(sesamo, playing card, guitar pick) under the two sides of the home button bracket pop out the physical button. clean the bracket of the ld adhesive and apply new adhesive and transfer it to the new digitizer. Thanks for the question.
