This is gobsmackingly fantastic! The BEST ever TH-cam channel for this sort of detailed restoration. The production quality is out of this world and back again! Thanks from Australia
secret glue removal might be eucalyptus oil.... been using it for years for this trick and does no damage to most surfaces..love these guys great craftsmen...
I would had left the paint as is, that patina is history....it tells a story, love or or hate it she earned those scares....shame to see them gone., same with the hardware.
I had one of these, back in my youth. It wasn't a bad guitar, per se, and I liked its Gibson-like looks. But: 1 the neck and the support rod were too soft, so they could not keep the tuning 100% for more than 15 minutes 2. the body was quite heavy, but resonated like sime cheap-ass "made in CSSR" half-the-thickness guitars 3. the wiring and electronics were of mediocre quality, e.g. the potentiometers needed regular maintenance more often than any other guitar I have ever had 4. the pickups were mediocre at best 5. the frets were not made of hard-enough material
OMG, please, check before you write stupid comments. This guitar is made last 50 years (from 1969) and 50 years ago Czechoslovakia was a country (split later in 1993). Anyway the more important is, that this restoration gave to this instrument new life. I am active musician from nineties in CZ and this is very nice restoration. I liked more the original knobs (black with white circle in the middle), but this is absolutely ok and its the matter of personal preference. Nice job!
I think it's very difficult to find an original knobs in 2024, such as original screwdriver))) My dad has Diamant, and I think it's a very playable and comfortable instrument with beautiful old-style sound.@@jindrichmatousek4150
@@jindrichmatousek4150 In the USSR, Czechoslovakian guitars had a good reputation. The first electric guitar I played in a band as a schoolboy in the mid-1980s was a Jolana Rubin, and then in the 1990s I had a Jolana Diamant exactly like the one in this video (there were two versions: the earlier one had a Gibson head, and the later one had an Ibanez head).

The amount of time and effort that is put into the filming and editing is just amazing!
Wspaniale... Miałem tę gitarę. Zagrałem na niej wiele koncertów i zrobiłem sporo numerów.

Hey buddy you do awesome work. About how long does it take to restore one of those guitars.
Great work. I have a Jolana Diamant '79 (with black pickguard)
Great restoration, so sad that you didn't restore the classic Jolana's screwdriver-belt mount
𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒂 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂 𝑱𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒂 🎸😉

Grundig with a Magnatone chefron on it?
Or did they have the same by coincidence?

21:01 You've missed an important detail: the famous Jolana's screwdriver. Ask Google - it will show you what it looked like.
awesome work but the corpse stickers should've gone back on
good job, but...the buzz in the guitar?...😲
This is the ode to post-industrial music))))
Missed the earth wire to the bridge post.
Amazing video
do you know where I could get a bringe for this guitar? or a bridge with the same dimensions
Strings ?
Fretwork totally messed up and I was guessing why this bit was missing in the video. lol
Now restore that cardboard box!
sounds like a grounding issue with all the noise
Strange ... Czechoslovakia hasn't existed since 1992 when the Czech Republic and Slovakia seperated ... Long time in the mail?!?
Kytara je z roku 1979 - tedy z doby Československa. Mimochodem - Československo se rozdělilo až od roku 1993.
Czechslovakia did not exist almost 31 years. The post deliver this guitar such a long time…😩😆😂🤣
Imam istu ovakvu gitaru.Kupljena 1982 god.
Secret solution to remove glue?
Great !

As a czech, i strongly believe this guitar was not worth it.
Hayir
Mine just need refretting😅
Still have Jolana Diamant Bass...
Those frets must be at least crowned
Playing on such a fretboard can be dangerous
Jolana Diamant.
0:07 😳
I have the same in a bit better but not working condition. I cant decided if I want to spend time and money for the restauration.
Looks like a brand new Les Paul. Better!
I would have used tortoise shell cellulose binding, way cool, the whole guitar . . looks pretty good with black . . .
Metallica 🖖

"from czechoslovakia"? This package is 32 years old. Because Czechoslovakia was divided 31.12.1992. Or it was lost at the post office.
Tout ça pour ça :)
Some of these videos are obliviously staged especially with the tree leaves 😅😅 fallen leaves
Fret ends are 🤐
Terrible fret job...this will not play in a sufficient way.
Ужас просто. Кошмар
💩
Click bait pic....
There is no country named Czechoslovakia!!

Sorry for mistake - made from 1979. Does not change much :)
