- A Community Request, This is a modern Take on the Classic Southern song of pride: "Dixieland". This time Dixie has allies!
I will be the first to admit that there are a few faults in my pronunciation of what's on the screen as, well the song is fast and I was kinda rushing to push it out so I could catch up on videos. That aside, I hope y'all enjoy! Lyrics Below:
Lyrics:
Oh, I‘m going on back home to the land of cotton,
Though Old times there were once forgotten,
Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land.
In Dixie Land, where I was born in,
early on one frosty mornin',
Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land.
[Chorus]
I’m glad I back in Dixie, Hooray! Hooray!
In Dixie Land I'll take my stand
to live and die in Dixie.
Away, away, Oh way down south in Dixie.
Away, away, Oh way down south in Dixie
We once again have left the union
This time though we already won
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
We weren’t the first nor were we lonely,
The Plains, and Texas, with us agree,
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
[Chorus]
Only the East and the West Cost ‘re angry
But they don’t got guns nor food a plenty
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
We Left those Yankees all in DC
And pushed the rest from our own country
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
[Chorus]
Though the Union we may’ve left again
Sure enough we have new friends
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
All along the Mississippi,
Are Allies to us in good Ol’ Dixie
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
[Chorus]
There's Texas big and rich and healthy,
But I’d still choose to live in Dixie;
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
And Way up north in Big Montana,
Pretty as it is, I prefer Atlanta,
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
[Chorus]
Now here's a health to all our allies
Peace and friendship ‘neath all our skies;
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
But if you want to drive 'way sorrow
Come and hear this song tomorrow
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
Thank You For Watching!
Another Request! Dixieland has been a personal favorite of mine to play, but as songs go, it's *kinda* fast. I hope that any flubbs in the song are not deal breakers for y'all! Unfortunately, TH-cam has significantly changed their advertising guidelines and so while the channel may be monetized, many videos now cannot be (basically anything in the War or Songs of the Second Civil War playlists). Because of this, I'm not even more reliant on my Patreon supporters who I am excited to mention have grown in number! I'm very grateful for everyone supporting the channel and especially those folks! If you want to support me as well please check out Patreon:

Thank you again!

We need more "Alt-History" music as I like to call it. I personally like this modern civil war style one.
@TerritoriesOfMan12 I agree, its highly probable to be our future very soon.
As a yank, my son and I wont be marching in southern lands, I promise you that. No more brother wars.
Thank you for this modern version of my homelands cherished song. you really done it justice here and i love it
Ah a rebel version of this song that isn’t weighed down by the horrors of southern slavery…
I may be a rebel but I’m sure as hell no slaver.
Neither were the majority of White Southerners. Slavery screwed them over too.
Same
The original dixieland had absolutely nothing to do with slavery or even the confederacy. Learn history before making a absurd statement
@@donttreadonme4355 ... Uh... Dude... That wasnt what I meant at all.
I know about the songs history, Union Dixie exists because Union Soldiers found out Lincoln liked the song before the Confederacy tainted it.
And that's the way I meant this. Dixieland has become a dirty song because of its ties to the Confederacy, valid or not.
@@Wesley-1776Doesn't matter, they'll slander any group or state that dares to stand against the union..So I refuse to allow them to dictate what is appropriate or not, so should you..
Beautiful remix of the original lyrics, long live our southern heritage and new Confederate values ✊🏿💪🏿🤠🎆
Heritage? My brother in Christ the confederacy lasted 4 years the fuckin annoying orange lasted longer then you
I mean hell the old Confederate values were better than the Yankees values because they still had slave labor 7 years after the Confederacy was no more and they committed genocide and still are technically committing genocide and they raped women and children and destroyed absolutely everything in their path whether it had to do with slavery or not for all they cared it was an orphanage that they were burning down not only that but black people fought for the Confederacy how long was Hispanics Asians and Native Americans if we were so racist why the hell did they fight with us
😂
If you ever say I'm a new confederate make sure you make it clear you're not a neo confederate gid firbid
@TruekingoftheLeinstermen but I am an irish neo confederate
Dixieland is one of my favorite American songs, very good.
You should make a version of the Bonnie Blue Flag, it's an amazing song and would fit perfectly in a modern American civil war
I remember meeting you on VRChat about a year ago, though I’m sure you don’t remember me I spoke with you for a little bit in a Summer Solitude in between songs, glad to see you doing well.
I'm a Yankee but I still love this song
When I was young I couldn't wait to get out of that small North Carolina town, now I'd give anything to be back there then.
The lyrics, but in my taste (I just changed a few of the words):
Oh, I‘m going back home to the land of cotton,
Because old times can't be forgotten,
So look away, look away, look away in Dixie's Land.
In Dixie's Land, where I was born in,
And so its people I'll surely mourn
So look away, look away, look away Dixie's Land.
[Chorus]
I’m glad I'm back in Dixie, Hooray! Hooray!
In Dixie's Land I'll take my stand
I'll live and die in Dixie.
Away, away, Oh way down south in Dixie.
Away, away, Oh way down south in Dixie
We once again have left the Union
Because we rejected the D.C. Communion
So look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie's Land
We weren’t the first 'nor were we lonely,
The Plains, and Texas, we aren't the only,
So look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie's Land
[Chorus]
Oh, the East and the West Coasts, they are angry
But they don’t got guns 'nor food a plenty
So look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie's Land
We Left those Yankees all in L.A.
And pushed the rest to north of Missouri
So look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie's Land
[Chorus]
Though the Union we may’ve left again
Sure enough we have new friends
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie's Land
All along the Mississippi,
Are Allies to us in good Ol’ Dixie
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie's Land
[Chorus]
There's Texas big and rich and healthy,
But I’d still choose to live in Dixie;
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
And Way up north in Big Montana,
Pretty as it is, I prefer Atlanta,
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
[Chorus]
Now here's a health to all our allies
Peace and friendship ‘neath all of our own skies;
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
But if you want to drive 'way sorrow
Come and hear this song tomorrow
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
[Chorus]
Someone from Appalachia/Midwest (im kinda on the border of it) I think the Midwest and Appalachia have a good chance of unifying or even joining Dixieland
As someone born and raised in kentucky it pisses me off when we're not included in the maps
Love this song, awesome cover! I quite like the flow on the Atlanta verse
Will you be releasing a full version of the map (showing all the sides at once instead of split up into different videos)
I'd not really thought of that, but next time this playlist shows up, I'll plop the full map down in the Announcement!
Great job! can you do a cover of "Tamo daleko"? it's a beautiful Serbian WW1 song
As someone from NJ, I’d gladly fight for Dixie and Texas and the others against the US government. Im a rebel, but not a slaver, so I like this version!
As a Missourian I’m not sure if I count as a southerner but I have a lot of Georgian family and we all hate Atlanta you gotta pick a city not filled with carpet baggers and minorities to represent a Dixie city
Missouri Fought in the confederate states as the 12th state, so i’d say so
@southernsoilder well apparently that map doesn’t believe the Missouri boot, Texas, Kentucky or the ozarks are
The Ozarks definitely are at least, proud Dixie here.
@@Paden-k7f I have gotten in arguments with Oklahomans saying OK is a southern state lol
Sounds mildly Celtic. I like it.
Scottish celts had a large part to play in the formation of southern culture.
Just like Irish celts had a large part to play in the north.
Nice! I'm making one, too. Not planning on singing, though.
"Away up North in the land of traitors, Bureaucrats and Legislators
Right away! Come away! Right away! Right away, come away!
Where money's king and rests our capitol
MAGA boys will win the battle
Right away! Come away! Right away, come away!
We'll all go up to D.C., away, away!
Those Yankee boys must understand our border has gotten out of hand
Away! Away! We'll all go up to D.C.!
Away! Away! We'll all go up to D.C.!"
Glad to see Texas as her own, just as Houston intended.
missouri would join dixie if was in charge of missouri....
Will you make modern version of battle hymn of the republic or over there?
Other *really* good ones that'll be saved for the next Songs of The Second Civil War... but I may run a poll to see if folk's'd rather have the originals rather than modernized in case we do War Songs first.
Yankees seething
2 days?!?!? 😭
Man you are just pumping out videos right now, make sure you take a break too man, we care about you and your health.
Luckily I was able to make the 5 latest songs over a week of craziness which has allowed me a day or two of rest. 😅 But resting time is over since the Sea Shanties Playlist is in desperate need of more songs🤣
@@alderontyran just stay safe lmao
I absolutely love the original song and your cover is only an improvement.
As a Montanan, I think this song is awesome and thanks for posting it!
We’re texas at in All this????
Working on a Texan song atm should be out soon
Legal
The Plains definitely with you agree!
This version is fantastic! The South shall rise again!
As a northerner.. god I hope so
@@benjamink1403Same.
@@benjamink1403we will do so with the new F-35 we found
Yellow rose now
We making out of the Union with this one, boys!
It was pretty good
Where is Kentucky
In the Appalachian group
These lyrics are awful.
What alt history is this?
Can west Virginia join fr
As a southerner, I say that the song is good, but in my opinion, the lyrics are a little too antagonistic. But, to each their own
I was born in Arkansas so does that counts as dixie
im so dumb
Sad that my Commonwealth of Virginia is cut from the map. :(
HOORAY FOR DIXIE!
Sates missing in confederacy of America in this vid Texas and Virginia does not include west virginia
It's an alternative history
The representation is taking into account modern political positions and populations..
Texas?
Hey, I think your slaves are running away..
@StonoBandito Those ain't no contraband. Them are crosses and bed sheets for your burning ceremony tonight.
Away down south in the land of traitors 2 when?????
I'll just leave you two to argue.
"A Communist and a Conservative walk into a bar." The joke practically writes itself.
Do union Dixie
Away down south in the land of traitors
May Yankeedom finally fall on its side like the bloated and poisoned mule it is.
Being a traitor in modern America don't sound like a too bad idea to be honest considering the people that lead it..
