@David Taber Hunny lots and lots of people still stay married. Being negative doesn’t help anyone including you.
Loving your child’s mother and showing that to your child does have a wonderful effect on your children and their perspective of love and life. I know. I had those parents that where absolutely picture perfect love story. Still are. 30 years later. It’s beautiful and it designed how I wanted to be loved.

Derik, I know you were only in my class for a short time because it was a crazy year of big classes and a teacher quit, and I just remember how awesome your group was. I remember your mom asking me about your attention and how you were doing, and I couldn’t believe you had experienced what you did. Now you have an amazing wife and beautiful son, and I just love seeing you grow! Keep sharing your story. Write it down too so you have multiple copies. Love you and your sweet family!

Many young people in various churches go to mission fields. It is not an easy thing to do. Some commit for a year, they're back in 3 months. People must remember they are kids away from home, really far, in foreign lands.

A kid in my school was in an ATV accident where it flipped on top of his head (yes he was wearing a helmet), and he fell into a 2 month coma over the end of the school year and the summer. He had severe brain swelling and we had several moments where we genuinely thought he was going to die. Ecstatic to say that he has graduated rehab and is now going to school on an altered schedule, trying to get his normal life back. I think I speak for everyone when I say we are stoked that you are here, Derik. God bless you and your family for many years to come ❤❤

I hope you know now Derek, coming home early from your mission trip wasn’t you being a failure…. at all. You went there to serve the Lord & you did! But the Lord had plans for you to serve in other ways too & that’s exactly what you’re doing now. You’re humble, kind and faithful; being those things & being open about your life & struggles is another way that you’re absolutely serving the Lord! 💕
Thank you for telling your story. I am in that dark place now and I’ve spent a majority of my life there. I’ve struggled with depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. my whole life. But I hope I can one day find the light. Sometimes I think it’s unfair what all I’ve been through but I try very hard to use those things to connect with others & tell them how I definitely wouldn’t be here without God.
You guys are so pure and beautiful together! And you guys definitely make the absolute most BEAUTIFUL babies 😍😍 I hope I will find my “Derek” one day too 🥰🥺

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I just wish I'd heard it a year ago... I lost my fiance when we were in a car wreck in August. The police and press thought he was drunk but I'd been with him non-stop and I know he wasn't. For the last year, I knew something was off with him. His personality had changed but I didn't know what was going on and since he seemed mostly hopeful, I wanted to believe he was ok. In 2016, he'd cracked his skull in a serious motorcycle accident, and in the two years before the accident, he'd had 5 or 6 concussions while riding his dirt bike. The last one was serious enough that I took him to a doctor but I couldn't make him go in. If only I had known then about the long term effects of head injuries. Listening to your story was so familiar. So many of the issues you dealt with were very much like the things happening with him. I wish so much that I had recognized it before it was too late. I can't help thinking that if I had watched your story before he died, maybe he and 2 other people would still be alive today, and I would still have my best friend. I hope someone else who's watching recognizes the long term effects of head injuries and gets help and support like you did.
I love watching your videos. Since the accident, I don't really talk to anyone so TH-cam is pretty much my connection to the outside world.
Also, one last thing. After the accident, I had my fiance's phone because mine was lost at the crash scene and somehow his phone had been put in the ambulance with me (he was taken by helecopter. He never regained consciousness). Anyway, I got a call on his phone the next day from a Mormon missionary he had been spending time with before the crash. When I explained to him what had happened and that Ben was gone, he continued to call me every day and was a huge source of comfort to me. I'm so sad I didn't write down his number once I eventually got my phone back from the police and gave his phone to his sister. I wish I still had that wonderful kind stranger to talk to. He didn't want anything from me and didn't judge. He just comforted and supported me in a way no one else has known how to do.
Since Ben died, it's been difficult for me to talk to anyone, but for some reason, it was easy to talk to that missionary. I guess this is stupid to mention because it's beside the point but I have so much gratitude for the kindness and selflessness I experienced from him. From watching you, I have no doubt you and your beautiful wife and your family have helped others just as much as that man helped me during the worst time of my life.
Again, thanks for sharing your story. It's inspiring to hear that you survived and now have so much love and happiness with your beautiful family. I love your videos. I discovered you from the adorable shorts with Jack (and your brother's vids with Ozzy). You all make me smile during a really dark time. I wish you all the best.❤️

After reading the tragedy that happened to you and how much you suffered from losing your love, the mystery of having someone you didn’t know supporting you with words only as you never met, and it was terminated when you returned the cell phone to his sister…I wonder why you never asked her if she received a call from this man⁉️
Life is a mystery as you never know what may happen next but if you really want this man’s advice, talk to his sister.

I'm a nurse Practitioner and I have to think they evaluated and talked to you about PTSD. I would definitely say you qualified. I'm so happy you met Sarah, she's just lovely. The first video I watched was when Sarah was in labor with Jack and the you holding him and just marveling at him and how cute he was. It was so sweet. I pray that God continues to bless you both and Iittle Jack through all the days of your life.
    Looking forward to further videos.❤

Did they ever test you for PTSD? That accident would have caused severe trauma that you may not have dealt with. I’m so glad you are doing well!

Not everyone who has had a traumatic event in their lives has PTSD. Each person has their way of dealing with these issues in their life. Some people talk it out with family and friends, some who internalize it, which can create PTSD, and some who get triggered with sounds, smells, or feelings that cause them to react.

What an amazing couple. You actually make me proud. I suffer from a generic disease that causes me to kind of introvert as no one understands it. My amazing husband has never left my side. Even when I spend time alone in our room reading or watching tv. He never gets mad at me, he supports every single thing I go through. I wish there was more I could do for him. To give him credit as I feel.he keeps me alive and keeps me going. God Bless you both and thank you for opening up and sharing your story

I didn’t fall off a cliff but u talking about the struggles of medication was so helpful. I have been struggling to find the right medication for my anxiety, depression, and adhd. and when those aren’t in control my ocd get really bad. medication is hard to get perfect because they always have heavy side effects. but this was so helpful to hear about i don’t feel alone.

This was the very best story I’ve heard ever. I am so in love with you guys. You are so incredibly lucky to have found each other. All in Gods plan for sure. Most housewives watching this is so jealous of Sarah. Sarah you are a shining star. Thank you both for opening up and sharing your story. And to your parents. I cannot imagine any two braver people to watch your child fall and then be told a stomach turning if your son makes it. Ugh, like I said I hope to never hear those words, witness such tragedy and be so terrified that they could lose you. I’ve been in a small plane that was being tossed through the sky during a March storm and to hear you tell your moms fear of that was truly dead on fact. Scary stuff for sure. Jack is one very lucky little boy to have you two.. keep on making great content

I am crying just thinking about what you have been through and so glad God and Winston brought you to Sarah. She is a rock and it is so obvious how supportive of each other you both are. I, too, suffered from brain fog...there were times I'd be driving my car and stop for a traffic light and when it turned green, I could see green but I didn't know for sure it was green and I'd wait for the guy behind me to beep. It lasted, on and off, for several years and we believe it was caused by inner ear issues. Anyway, it had me thinking I was going crazy so I just want to say how proud I am to see you share this with all of us and be so vulnerable. You are both amazing people and parents!!! Love you both and wish you only great things on your journey together!!!

Can you imagine everything from your parents perspective now that you're a Daddy? How insane is that. I had my daughter a few days after y'all had Jack and I feel like so many things have such a different perspective... and I don't have a traumatic experience like you!

    • @ginnywithag5046
      @ginnywithag5046 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Tori, I honestly believe with most parents, maybe moreso slightly with the Mama's, that comes with being a parent.
I have Grandchildren now. Both of my children were Cesearian births. A Daughter first and then a Son. Providing both were healthy, they were, we had already determined just the two was enough.
There's a reason I'm sharing this. While in the hospital for days before being released, I had my Son with me as much as I could. This will stay with me as long as I live, I remember having his body laying with his head under my chin and the length of him laying on my torso. This was a common way he slept on me. In knowing he was my last baby, I wanted him to grow as with his percentile, yet somehow manage staying a baby a little longer. All for me, so I could hold on this time a little longer!
I remember thinking while holding him, "I have to treasure these thoughts, these precious days, lock these memories of this time to always remember these days". With the words of that sentence, I envisioned placing within my heart, a chest with a lock and key. I have gone there so many times in my life, opening the chest, recalling all that I still hold dear of the early days of my Son's life.
Each child is a blessing and I am so happy for the two of mine.
Our perspective certainly changes. Bless your little one and your family.

You are both blessed to have found each other! Having been through a rough car wreck myself, I can empathize the wonder you felt at still being alive! You are a survivor Derek and need a supportive circle. Your parents are steadfast and firm believers. 📖 Your Dad's blessing was powerful indeed. But Sara is your ROCK and truly is Awesome. Her love for you and Jack shines from her. 💖 I always think that when I share my story, somebody needed to hear it. I believe in words holding Power, so maybe the listener needed a reminder of God's love or to believe in people serving as his Angel's here on Earth (like the Nurse at your accident scene). Thanks for sharing your story as it happened and will continue to evolve. Blessings to your family! 🙏

I literally just found you guys like 4 hours ago. I binge watched all of your shorts and I’m so in love with you guys. Your story, your energy, your faith, the “weeeee” sound, Jack’s little face but most of all, the fact that you guys are here and that you made it. I had a nasty accident that has resulted in 9 orthopedic surgeries and my life did a complete 180. It may sound weird but, these past few hours especially after listening about your terrible accident, I feel like the life that is starting to grow again in my heart and in my head will be worth living and I can’t wait for it to be as fun and love filled as yours is. When you think that life has kicked your teeth in, someone else, somewhere else is having theirs kicked in as well. I love your story and how you share it and I’m here for all of it!
