Half way through the video where Derik is talking about Sarah shows that this guy loves, adores, and cherishes his wife. As a man, husband, father, grandpa, and honorary great-grandpa Derik gives me an example that there are still very good men in this world taking on the role of being a great dad and husband. Thank you Derik and Sarah and Jack for sharing a small part of your life together with us.

I dig you guys and your fun family and relationship. One day in the future, when Jack looks back at the old videos..... the will be priceless to him. Even if they are just for fun. I don’t wanna make this a tear-jerker but when I see your videos it always reminds me of the song “ cats in the cradle” not because you do jack, like the dad did the boy in the song.... but the opposite. And I always think Jacks always is gonna have proof how much his parents loved him, how much he became their world,(even before he was born) and he will never be like the boy in the song. My two sons are all grown up now. When I watch your videos I laugh and remember how much fun my wife and I had. Yes it’s a lot of work but it’s worth it. Also enjoy every minute because it goes by very quickly. 😊

Anybody who has children surely realizes that as parents,we don't film our children's worst moments,but their best! You guys are a beautiful family. You are human and learning, just like others in life💜 My first child was my highest maintenance child,hands down😅 I think that is true of many first born children. We now have 11 children💙 It is a beautiful thing to see an honest, loving, normal set of parents raising their little one! You don't have to be perfect to be amazing!💌

Also, we mom's are almost always the ones trying to capture the memories on camera. Dad's are busy doing dad things and don't usually think about it. In 17 years of marriage and an 8 year old son we have 124 pics of dad, 7 pics of mom, and 1 billion+ pics of our son, lol. We know you both work hard and every day isn't perfect. When my little buddy man was that age, he used to swing his legs a lot when I held him. Well, he got me in the, um yeah, area A LOT! He was my buddy and I was not going to stop holding him. I actually had to see the doc because the pain was constant. Just sharing a troubling moment from my experience being a father. It was worth it. Being Dad is always worth it. And you two are amazing parents. The love that we can see in your family gives me hope.
Social media is like a theater stage. Hard work, and only tells the story you choose. One must be fond of the audience but not be dictated to by a few disgruntled people. Have fun!
How much you play with your kid isn't the only thing that makes you a good parent. Its the time spent with them in general, the memories you make, the environment you create, how much love the house is filled with, everyday care taking of baby and home, and most importantly the lessons and ideas you teach him. Nobody needs to know your whole life. Your videos are very minute compared to your whole life. 🥰

I think it's really important that people remember how edited and curated videos on social media are. They are so much fun, and people can tell which creators are authentic, like you guys 😊. But sm is no different than any other type of entertainment medium; the Rockstar and movie stars we all get so invested in have crappy days, get zits, and generally put their pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else. We shouldn't look to people who are producing entertainment and assume that we know their lives intimately just because we consume their content, the same way we shouldn't judge ourselves by comparing how we look running to the drugstore in our sweats against an actress in a movie who has an entire team of stylists, makeup artists and personal trainers. I appreciate that you took the time to remind us of that 💜
