Have one since 2017, the pre facelift model. In 7 yrs and 70K, not a single problem, so reliability is up there!. Passing this down to my daughter now as her Learner car. Things must have improved over the years, my avg fuel consumption is around 8.2.
A good review of an evergreen car. Nevertheless, as a (very) old fashioned bloke, I'd prefer the manual Mazda 2 Pure (~$26k d/a) to the CX-3. The biggest advantage of the CX-3 over the 2 is the 2 litre engine. It would be very, very nice if Mazda would drop that engine into the "2" - with a manual gearbox option. An old style warm hatch....
The number of 'city cars' is ever diminishing. I'm also likely to look towards a manual Mazda 2 in future particularly now the CX3 is no longer offered with manual shift.
@@waltermolina7115 I would never know if I never see this comment. And It is quite recently launched. Search youtube for Mazda2 Grand Touring LX Carbon Edition. There is an in depth tour of it. Has a dual muffler coming from factory, and see how they fit the 2.0l PE-VPS into the Mazda 2 engine bay, looks very tight but very amazed that they can fit it inside the engine bay. It is like a Mazda 2 owners wet dream.
Best car I've ever owned! No doubt it lacks space, so it may not work for families at all. However, it has adequate power, responsive engine, and amazing handling! The engine it not particularly buzzy while cruising. Just when cold start and when accelerating hard
We owned one for 2 years. Loved the front half of the car. The rear seat and cargo space made it too hard for us in the long run. We upgraded to a CX5 , 7 years still love the CX5
Getting a bit long in the tooth but still a great choice in the class and has some genuine character. And I agree, I'd rather have the Skyactiv with its high compression and associated tech than something with a turbo on it. They actually did an AWD version for a few years but I don't think anyone bothered with it - I think I've only ever seen maybe 3 of those in the wild. Is a shame they don't do the manual anymore tho. :(
@@mahcooharper9577 Manual would be interesting. They did a diesel for s short time as well. I drove it but too many cars have passed since then, I can’t remember what it was like. I think it was a really small diesel from memory.
Once you get over the joke of a tiny fwd suv, it’s actually quite a good jigger and has aged well I reckon. Sister has a 3yo one and other than a useless back seat it does very little wrong, and it a great drive (for a tiny fwd suv 🤪)
I just brought the cx3 pure 2 weeks ago very happy with it got now 850km averaging 7.4km per 100km probably go down once the engine wears in

That would be very nice indeed. I hope the 2 sticks around for a while - rivals have dropped off in recent years.

In Mexico, they sell a Mazda 2 with the 2.0L engine. 148hp.

I definitely like the old school dials and buttons.
Kinda one of the last analogue cars, the dimmer stick has served us well. SAAB used to have a night mode button for the dash-console lights....
Still a good buy at the right price.
The wipers are quiet.
That older Mazda infotainment screen has been around since Moses wore short pants 😀

I have a CX-30, it’s manageable with 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 kids.
@Driving Enthusiast - how is the reverse camera?
It's ok. Not surround-view or anything like that, but the res and FOV is decent.
If only you could get this with the 2.5 ltr
@@spiro5327 That would be cool.
AWD was dropped because no one bought that configuration... Supply and demand. It's a slightly raised hatchback, not really an SUV.
👍 This car has been discontinued ! Now there's Mazda CX 30
@@nikolanikolov5208 It’s still on sale in Australia 👍
In LatinAmerica still on sale too.
