    At ReDriven, we’ll be taking you through the pros and cons of a huge range of used cars to see how well they’re going now that they’re a few years old, have thousands of kilometres on the clock, and are coming toward the end of their warranty, or maybe don’t have one at all.
    Plus, thanks to our resident mechanic, Jim, you’ll find out what commonly goes wrong with them and what might need to be fixed.
    Most importantly, we want to make ReDriven a voice for the most in-the-know used car experts there are...you guys.. See, you’re the ones that actually buy, live with, love and sometimes unfortunately hate the cars we’ll be reviewing.
    So we want to hear your thoughts. Hit us up in the comments, or on Instagram and Facebook.

    2 years ago my mum was looking at buying a small SUV. She was looking at the ASX before I recommended her to test drive a CX3. She was blown away by how much nicer and well put together the Mazda felt in comparison. She bought one and has loved it ever since without a single issue.

      The boot space and rear seats are so small, I wouldn’t call it a small suv. Probably only suits old people not young family’s or people with dogs.

    I have a 2018 model of this car and other than no armrest in the middle, this car is incredible. I ended up buying an after market armrest off Amazon for $30 and now I have no complaints. Great mileage, handles well, decent storage space. Not great for road-trips with more than 2 people, but for taking around 5 people for small trips around town, it’s perfect! The upkeep is pretty easy on this car too. Such a great vehicle, no regrets!

    We bought a manual cx3 about 6 months ago. It's so fun and definitely zoom zoom. It handles, the engine and gearbox are fun, the build quality for the money is amazing. We didn't expect much from it, but it has become one of my favourite cars we've owned. Great car! Only thing that bothers me is the boot space... but that's what a cx5 is for!

    Thanks guys, love the channel. Had one of these for a month while our CX5 diesel was off the road. One thing you didn’t mention is the absolutely woeful low beam headlight performance. In this instance, out of sight on a dark night, means just past the end of the bonnet. You could drive past a fully fledged yowie on a dark country road with the low beams on and never know it. Even my wife, who has no interest in cars commented how poor the low beams were. Fortunately the high beam is vastly superior, which means in real terms means adequate, just! Headlight don’t really matter in the city, but in the country, good headlights are vital. You should include headlight performance, both low and high beam in all your reviews. Keep up the good work gents!

    We've got a 2015 CX3 with 110,000 km . We've had a bunch of expensive repairs done out of warranty for free due to known issues and TSBs. A/C went out and was replaced by Mazda at 50,000 km. Transmission went out at 80,000km and was replaced by Mazda for free. And rear seat belts were replaced after they stopped retracting at 90,000km for free.

    I was set on buying the CX-3 (used) here in Japan and was checking out some different trim levels and was overall very pleased until I was recommended a Honda HR-V Hybrid (called Vezel in Japan) and it honestly made the CX-3 feel pretty cramped by comparison. Honda was a little more but the extra space and better fuel economy is what really sold me. Also, I'm not a fan of these exposed (un-painted) plastic wheel arches. I know you can get certain trim levels where these are piano black or whatever but they really should come standard imo.

    I bought a new one barely 7 months ago, now up to almost 7000 km. With the 16" wheels, the ride is surprisingly compliant. The engine develops maximum torque at only 2800 rpm, which is perfect for fuss-free cruising on the highway at 110 kph. It's no supercar, but performance in the real world is more than adequate and it's fun to drive. Overall fuel economy so far, with mostly urban driving, is 7.8 L/100km. On the open road, it can go down to high 5 L/100 km. Don't be fooled by any "SUV" tag - the CX-3 is really a little hatch.

    Proud owner of a Mazda CX 3 G-TM 2016 for two months now.
    Car is 7 years old.
    It's the 6 speed manual most luxury edition.
    Very good car and a fun drive, good at casual driving or when you like it sporty driving.
    Car is at 150.000 km just had service and no issues at all except of cupping of the rear wheel tires witch ( 18 inch wheels ) needed to be replaced.
    Made a huge improvement in the handeling and comfort.
    My only problem is the radar cruise control, really don't like it and has to be turned off after every start-up.

So many rattles and a lot of them I look up and are experienced all across the vw group cars. Electric tailgate will frequently stop halfway or not latch and show as open which I actually had "fixed" at my last service. Part of my experience does come down to the dealer that does the servicing who've lied and are useless. I think it would be a good car if it wasn't built like a 2000's Hyundai 😭

I'm 6ft, and it was comfortable for me, but the little wife is only 4ft 11", and the seat doesn't adjust high enough - she couldn't see over the dash. The 2007 Honda CRV Luxury we have is the best we have found so far for seat adjustment.

    -water pump (~150 AUD)

    I own one for almost a year and a half at this point, it's 2.0 150HP Petrol AWD 6AT top of the spec from 2019, and I can say I'm really happy with my choice (my first car actually). I think the only big issues, as you pointed out, are the cabin noise and annoying sounds over bumps but other than that it's a solid car, fun to drive which turned some heads in my case. Maybe the boot size is kind of small but that depends on how many persons you want to take on a long trip.
    I would like to add to the number of service recalls, one that I didn't see mention, is the fuel pump that can fail, and Mazda dealerships will change it free of charge. Had this particular issue with the car, dealership solved it, and from what I understood owners can do it preventevely before it actually fails (if it fails).

Sold it for a BP Mazda 3 GT25 which I don't like as much to be honest. The CX3 diesel in my case was like brand new at time of sale in terms of NVH and no oil leaks or funny sounds. Pretty much only sold it with the mindset its a niche diesel engine and if something went wrong it would be be so expensive. They still look very smart on the roads for whats a pretty old car now.

    2018 bought a new one. Prime line, so basic one. It was on some kind of action, discount, almost 4.000e less than original price. With winter tires and alu rimms it was 15.500 euros in germany. Now i have almost 80k kilometers on it. The only problem that i had is opening truck in cold days. The thing is, sometimes it works and some times just doesn't. I ve found solution for it. Just move your car like 1 meter and it you can open truck without problem hehehe. I am beyond satisfied. 6.4l per 100km is what i have. Tested it multiple times. Its correct. And i am not driving it slowly. I had multiple trips over 1200km without any problems. All recommendation from me.

    It’s relatively cheap (550€) to put the CX5 tune on it, so the power increases to 165 HP. Fuel consumption stays the same, here 6,5L/100km mixed use highway and city.
    And as mentioned in another post the rear seat belts are a weak point. Mazda repaired ours for free (1.000€!!) outside the warranty. Another weak point are the retractable mirror motors.
    Ours is a top spec and had Adaptive Cruise Control and Bose audio, which was an important reason to pick this specific example.
    Apple CP is around 400€ and a armrest that matches your interior is not cheap, if that’s important to you look out for it.
    It’s a nice car, I recommend it. But at the end of the day when the sun is shining I rather take my MX-5 ND 😀

      Still has the same ugly plastic wheel cladding that shouts "I'm an SUV, don't you know!".

    Looking at how you fit in the back really underlines the "small" SUV name. Another informative video. I have learnt the hard way when I am told by a service centre not to worry. I now get them to put that in writing on the account that they have seen the problem and dismissed it. I would make sure that every service in the future the problem was noted.

    Been driving this for 3 years in South Africa. Really sturdy and fun car. Amazing engine. The reverse camera issues are true lol the other thing owners should watch out for is the v shape exhaust underneath. When you off road and go over some dips it will touch unless you go in at an angle. Other than that its a lovely very underrated machine.

    Bought a 2015 diesel recently with 71000miles, it’s top spec with red skirts and 18 inch wheels. The ride is so hard feel every bump. And had major DPF issues, .wish I never got the diesel .love the look of the car and yes the interior is very nice. Found out Mazda diesel’s are terrible with soot accumulation, same for cx5 2.2 diesel . So the ride and dpf issues has definitely put me off this car.

    Interesting about the oil issue as Mazda have not had a good record in recent years in dealing with customer complaints and failing engines, particularly diesels. It's all on record with ACCC findings, so I would be a bit wary of any promises that Mazda might make and not actually addressing real issues.

    just booked this car... wouldn't say it's the most fun to drive for me but it does the job, and i love the interior so much compared to others in the price range. Getting the mid option one. Just noticed a slight acceleration slowness, sometimes I felt like I needed to press hard to get the car moving, unlike most other cars, even 1.5L cars don't feel this unresponsive to acceleration pedal. Dealership promised to get it checked, and I won't buy it if they dont find out the issue, because I can see it becoming a major pain in the ass and maybe even a symptom of a bigger issue. Other than that, better a mazda than a bigger nissan or mitsubishi. At least this has an actual automatic transmission.

    I have a 2020 sTouring, and most of what's in this video is spot on. The Pros: super engaging handling performance, with a proper set of grippy tires, it's extremely hard to break traction, it looks fantastic (subjectively best in class despite the design's age), good fuel economy I get around 8-9l/100km with primarily urban driving, heaps of safety in the sTouring variant (heads up display, rear cross-traffic alert, front/rear parking sensors, LED headlights/taillights, reverse and daytime running lights, city break assist, keyless entry, etc.), post-facelift's improved NVH puts it right on average in class, high-quality interior compared to others in the class, superb ergonomics. The Cons: with 18-inch alloys, the car will feel like it CRASHES over bumps, the paint will chip if you look at it funny, the timing gasket leak and ghost-touch on the MZD screen were both replaced under warranty, the electric parking brake doesn't disengage automatically went put into drive like most other cars with that feature, the boot is TINY, the interior is starting to feel outdated, especially the infotainment; they've made minimal changes since 2015. As a used car, the CX-3 represents exceptional value for money, and I'd recommend it to those looking for a stylish, fun, engaging, and safe subcompact.

    Only in Australia would you have a Mazda cx3 as the leading CUV. Pretty much everywhere else, thats not the case. Nissan Qashqai is by far the leading CUV sold in Europe with much better interior space and equipment.

  • @allanlees299
    @allanlees299 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    One reason the ride on this vehicle was somewhat harsh over poor road surfaces could be the low-profile tires, which are aftermarket and not stock. With greater sidewall on stock tires, a lot of the harshness will disappear. Just another reason why the absurd trend toward low-profile tires on non-track-oriented vehicles is such a mistake.

    Suzuki Vitara Turbo. Like this it’s based on the Swift platform, including the Swift Sport 1.4 turbo engine. Lighter, roomier with a bigger boot, actually looks more like an SUV and dare I say more fun to drive. If you absolutely have to have a manual though, the Mazda as the Vitara only does the 1.6 NA in manual.

    • @MrBenHaynes
      @MrBenHaynes ปีที่แล้ว

      Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner. The Suzuki Vitara is what the CX3 should be.
      Most Mazdas have sacrificed space utilisation in the quest for a sexy profile.
      It has worked for Mazda through sales, but not for the customer in usage.
      The under stressed 1.4 litre turbo in some Vitaras is just the icing on the cake.

    • @montyspearo
      @montyspearo 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Vitara 1.6 in auto is gutless and always wants to kickdown so its doing 4000rpm, hates hills.. 1.4T auto on other hand is effortless to drive thanks to 230nm of torque at 1500rpm. For SUV quite nippy on tight windy roads.

    Hey man I really like your reviews and opinions on cars in general, but can we stray away from talking about scratchy plastics. Everyone that does car reviews in Australia is always talking about scratchy plastics. We should be talking about pricing and how cars are too overpriced here in Australia, we should also be mentioning how many kms with a full tank cars can do...cuz these figures aren't always correct. Mention for example with a full tank the car can do 600kms for example, and how much it's going to last and cost to fix major problems if they have any. Can't stress to mention where always focusing on materialistic matters. If I have to spend 30k under or over on a car, I want to know major problems that come with these overpriced brands. Cuz when I look on car sales most of these new cars are already up for sale after 50,000km and sometimes under.

      Such excellent and valid points Rob.

      About the only thing we can’t accurately comment on is the how many kms with a full tank as every owner drives so differently in a range of various environments and scenarios.
      But thank you for this, we’ll slowly implement all your suggestions, I’m genuinely excited to never mention scratchy plastics again! - AK
