*Now this was a piece of the lore I am interested in for sure.* But why does Cyberpunk space exploration feels like Mass Effect before they meet aliens 😮
It does seem like mass effect before aliens doesn’t it? Mass effect definitely took a lot of inspiration from CP, even having a nightclub being the center for mercs ran by a queen bee. Definitely a cyberpunk reference. Both franchises are great.

The idea of dropping a giant rock into the ocean near your enemies and causing unforeseen damage to their population is tragically hilarious. "If you don't stop im going to drop this rock in the ocean, I swear to god"
The invention of gigantic mass drivers for science and exploration... then having them almost instantly weaponized is a very fitting tale for humanity.
The Mass Relays that we see in Mass Effect are most definitely not any type of mass driver. If you look at the physics, the Mass Relays are much closer to the warp field we see in Star Trek.

Being someone who was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro and seeing that by 2023 or something the city was destroyed by Militech and Arasaka gives me a pretty weird feeling of bewilderment, joy, and irkment lmao Especially since it appears that the city was still about in 2077 (if you play a Corpo you can see that there was an attack on the 'Saka Tower in Rio). Makes me wonder how the rest of Brazil and South America are doing by the time of V. From what it appears, at least my city was turned into an Arasaka outpost in my country... Which makes me even more curious to know what befalls the city in the Crystal Palace ending, where Arasaka is destroyed by V and Johnny's attack.
It was probably rebuilt as a Neo Rio or something like that. Arasaka is not destroyed, it's way too big to fall. They are first and foremost a financial/ banking system and security forces. They influenced creation of New Yen. They have the most powerful military in the world, operate several super carriers and have nukes that could destroy half the world in 15 min. CP77 had a lot of space themes and cut content, hints etc. so I believe CDPR really wanted to explore the space more and just did not have time and resources to do so. It would be so cool if we could straight take gigs and stuff out there, hop on a rocket and go mercing in Crystal Palace or some station on Mars.
I feel like aliens in Cyberpunk would just be the most realistic of aliens. They see that Earth is basically a shithole ran by companies and are like "...eh, we're good." Lock their doors and just speed by lmfao.
Love these lore videos, though I don't know that Mass Relays (Mass Effect) are good analogs to compare to Mass Drivers, Mass Relays rely on some special Mass Effect plot magic of Element Zero which in their universe allows them to manipulate the mass of objects in local space, Mass Relays work be essentially creating a tunnel between 2 Relays which removes all the mass allowing acceleration to essentially be infinite. a Mass Driver however doesn't alter the local gravity or mass, it just accelerates an object at great velocity acting similar to a railgun.

@24:22 When you said the Pathfinders were "stranded on the planet" I hope you weren't meaning stranded on Jupiter, since it is a gas giant and has no feasible surface for a colony to "stand on". Considering the lore is almost 40 years old, I doubt it.
The funniest thing is of course that the ESA actually exists.
Based on our current rate of progression, should be 2177 when we reach CP 2077's tech. We're only 100 years behind schedule lol
I love it that you use Andromeda “Pathfinders” clip LOL
Ah the belter version of cyber punk the high riders xD
I always thought they should've done a GITS version of expanse from the vantage point of earth cities (&sometimes mars/Ceres) to show how ppl on the ground level deal with certain incidents &living in a pre or post protomolecule world
4:21 “A chance to start again” Nooooo thank you. Ain’t going to another casino resort filled with mute killer cannibals enshrouded by a red mist thank you very much
i get it, guys.
Mass Effect? No. You should have used Gundam SEED with Orb or other territory's Mass Driver. An extremely large electromagnetic catapult.

Imagine one DLC but in space?
Fun fact: The Xbox Series X/S and PS5 becomes a reaction aircraft.
More cyberpunk your station is the BEST!
Man I hope Orion will be lot more about space. Considering the working title, I would say so.
If only cp2077 has some sort of a expansion pack that is sets in space
Surprised India and China aren't in space, considering they've always had a foothold in space.
I love your videos so much!
Thank you so much dude!! Really appreciate the support 😁
Very cool pfp
First one here muwhahahaha, also thank you for bringing the cyberpunk world to life in such a immersive way
They left Mars for unexplained reasons? Sounds like aliens to me
Stopping artillery shells using human shield is so goofy, still the whole space lore is pretty interesting
also Lucy and Songbird live on the moon
The Lore is actually found in Android Netrunner which was based on Cyberpunk
As amazing as Night City is... it's just barely scratching the surface of the Cyberpunk universe.
Even in the stars a punk can never escape corporate greed, for a rat race knows no end.🐱
Aaah yes, Highriders. Or as we Gundam fans know them as; New types!
I really want to be able to traverse cyberspace and regular space in the next game
the $7 Billion that the ESA spent in building their space station is only 4% of what real life USA spends on their military every year lol
As tupac once said they got money for wars but won't feed the poor. Same difference
i wish they'd followed the correct plan for the crystal palace, being a 5 torus habitat. its not hard to follow the source material.
17:13 Too bad it was Japanese Aerospace Program.
23:20 No mention of 'the angels' taking care of the protests... Odd.
Does anyone know where V went for one of the endings to the game?
I love your videos! Many thanks!
as a native american I think I could get along with the alien culture seeming high risers, culture is only alien if it is foreign or did not originate there, it can grow or expand there but not originate, not without eliminating what was already established and there first
@24:22 When you said the Pathfinders were "stranded on the planet" I hope you weren't meaning stranded on Jupiter, since it is a gas giant and has no feasible surface for a colony to "stand on". The colonists could be stranded above Jupiter or stranded around Jupiter but they were definitely not stranded ON Jupiter
Mike Pondsmith has got Frank Herbert-level world building.
Happy someone has dropped Frank's name. He's an OG. Love his novels man
The Cyberpunk universe offers weaponry and war tactics never before seen in the world, and some are even inconceivable in reality.
And the ESA is over here and is just like *"5 fucking ton rock lmao"*
They could be a more exciting version of the Expanse
Really hope the next game has at least a side quest or two on the moon
The ch in Tycho is pronounced like a K, as in Christmas. You’re killing me!
Excellent video, thanks !!
jeasus wow , i didint know the moon had so much lore! thats wild!
Wouldn't it be great if we could travel freely to the moon and do missions in a low gravity environment?
Yummy lore yum yum
Mr fish as always thanks for the video
Will you do a video on the armed space fleets
just 7 billion for the crystal palace is a bargain, the ISS costs about 150 billion USD
Excellent video really enjoyed it.
