I have an important question. I am planning on buying a record player that works with Bluetooth. I wanna buy the Sonos roam because I already have a Sonos system in my house. Can I connect the Sonos Roam with Bluetooth to the Record player and then connect it with the System in the room as well? Or because of the wifi connection needed for the Room configuration does that not work? Please help cause I can’t find any answers online :/
I have two each of the Sonos Roam and Bose Soundlink Micro speakers. Both sound very good and can link in stereo pairs (you can get deeper base with the Bose by leaning against a wall). I got the Roam to replace my +5 year old Bose portable speakers. I like to use the Sonos as a home portable speaker to move around as needed for music or TV or group to my Beam+Gen 3 sub+Symfonisk surrounds for added sound. The Bose seems to have a slightly better Bluetooth connection protocols that seems to work seamlessly with almost any/every bluetooth capable device (same with my Bose QC35 and QC45 headphones). I like the smaller size of the Bose when traveling because of its smaller footprint to toss in a backpack and the built-in strap. At home, very easy to just turn on the Bose, TV automatically disables the soundbar, and I can control the TV volume with the Bose when I want to connect the speaker with bluetooth to my LG OLED TV for nighttime viewing (Bose sits nicely on my chest or armrest so I don't disturb the entire house). The Sonos sometimes hard to press touch controls, sometimes hit/miss bluetooth sync on the go with other folks smartphones, and odd size keep me from replacing the Bose once I leave the house. Roam is prefect around the house in the Sonos ecosystem.
For someone owning a Flip I have put off purchasing the Roam, although I'm in desire of a portable home speaker to pair with our Sonos setup. Reading your comment, I assume you'd recommend getting the Roam?
I absolutely love my two Roams. I've had them for over a year and still get impressed with how good they sound. I bought one and used it as my bathroom speaker and would just grab it off a wireless charger I already had when I needed to take it out. When they went on sale I picked up a second one so that my first one can stay in the bathroom and I can carry the second one around. It's set to power save mode that it powera off when not in use and always ready to take out. If for whatever reason it isn't, I can just grab by first one and go while it gets charged up for next time. Only draw back for me is not being able to stereo pair over Bluetooth. It's not a deal breaker, just would be nice.
I am an Android user and my music service is Spotify. By adding the roam to Spotify connect does it work fine? I am willing to buy one because i really love the design and i've bought a sonos beam for my tv
Nice details on this product. Have one question, if we connect via Bluetooth to the Sonos Roam can we still pair it to send the music to another Sonos device on the wifi?
hi, i have a two SONOS PLAY 1 and a Play Bar, do you think I can buy a Sonos Roam and do Airplauy thus grouping all of (OLD SONOS) them together? then i can make my OLD sonos smarter, would it be possible? thank in advance for replying
does the roam play Apple Music DIRECTLY through Alexa, IE "Alexa play Pink Floyd from Apple Music". I know it will do it through bluetooth on phone and airplay 2, but I need direct Apple Music support through the Alexa feature.

I have a move 2 and just got the roam if I'm playing music on the Move and wanna play the same music on the roam at the same time and put the roam let's say in my bathroom can they both be playing the same song simultaneously?
Yes! You can do this via the Sonos app or by simply pressing and holding the play/pause button on the Roam to group it in with the Move and play the same music.
We are really not interested with the features but we want to know more about the quality of sound. Everybody waste their time to talk about features and everybody knows that almost all Btooth speakers have more or less the same features
I have had nothing but problems and would not recommend it at all. It keeps falling off WiFi. I can’t get it back on. I have had to contact support twice and some features still are not working. I can not get it to play uk bbc radio. Which is what us brits like! The app is dreadful. I’d give it a miss.
The way you connect to Bluetooth/Wi fi is the worst I ever saw on any speaker out there (5$ speaker connect better). Nightmare. The store didn't agree to replace the product after opening - so yes. Sometimes, it's work (and sometimes not).
Disappointed! Stereo pair does NOT work away from its wifi network. Said another way, if you take two roam speakers “on the go” and connect via bluetooth, only one works at a time…NO stereo!!! This is nonsense in today’s technological world.
Yeah that’s the biggest reason I haven’t migrated, I’m still sticking with my pair of JBL flip 6’s, even the roam gen 2 cant stereo pair via Bluetooth, big L in my opinion.
How so? It's been pretty seamless for me. At home it's on the WiFi and part of my Sonos home system. When I'm out of the house I power it on and since my WiFi isn't accessible it automatically goes to Bluetooth mode and connects to my previous used device.
When the battery dies in 5 to 7 years throw it in the land fill. It is glued together and you need special tools to take it apart to replace the battery. Almost 200 bucks for a tiny whiney speaker made in China ! Sonos has always been overpriced !
Do not touch the roam, it’s pointless. Can’t turn it off, it’s constantly on a weird standby mode that drains battery. Sonos pre 2010 had something about them. Now, way behind. Avoid.
Not correct! You can set it up to turn off after a period of no use automatically, as well as pressing down the power button . Have you kept the Roam updated?.

For the longest time i was a JBL die for bluetooth speakers. Ive had a roam for a few months and ill never go back. Its absolutely amazing!!

You need to re-caulk your tub.
Totally.
This. So much this.
This guy does speaker reviews. If you think he even owns a caulking gun you got another thing coming 😅
😂😂
If someone isn't talking shit or complaining, there's something wrong
Is that Gus Fring inside that speaker?
Are there any other Bluetooth speakers that offer a battery replacement program?
Thank you for not saying 'Alexa' and referring to it as 'Amazon's assistance' instead.

Yes, it will work with Spotify connect, that’s a good call out. I should have mentioned that. - Josh
Solid helpful review

Does multi room work in both Bluetooth and WiFi?
can the roam replace a homepod mini?
It's better
Never heard of "shower speaker" before this video. I knew there was something missing in my life.

can you voice comannd play or stop while listenig youtube from your phone?
I would buy it solely for the fact the it uses Gustavo Frings voice
Yeah I don't want some spy device with a mic built in - does it even have 3.5mm jack?
I don't think so
they have the MIC free version the ROAM SL if you dont desire the voice assistant.
I have a move 2 and just got the roam if I'm playing music on the Move and wanna play the same music on the roam at the same time and put the roam let's say in my bathroom can they both be playing the same song simultaneously?

@6MonthsLater at the same time both will be playing?
I loved my Sonos Roam, but 2 years later won’t play or charge.
I'm gonna bay that hell of a speaker 😊
Bro, the voice assistant sounds like Morgan Freeman
It’s actually Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad.
I was like that’s Gus, that’s cool asf
I'm looking for a new speaker when I'm golfing. Is this what I need????
Yep
you dont mention if it has or not, voice calls.
This was totally a Sonos ad and not a review haha. The amount of times he said Sonos was incredible 🤣
Doesn’t charge on charger
Mine died after a year. Won't power on. Won't charge with cable or wireless. Solid orange light and nothing else.
Why do you need to bring a speaker with you to places? Isn’t it just for home
Going out to the beach, on a boat etc. But yes, I mainly use it around the home, like moving it from the shower to the bathroom counter - Josh
We are really not interested with the features but we want to know more about the quality of sound. Everybody waste their time to talk about features and everybody knows that almost all Btooth speakers have more or less the same features
They are very expensive.
Can you play TH-cam on it?
It can be used as a Bluetooth speaker, so yes.
hate mine ! anyone want iT ?
Why?

Wait fir 2 crap battery life

This video sounds too much like an Ad
no chromecast & atmos made it dead to me
No chromecast is a shame but I’m not sure Atmos would be that beneficial on such a small speaker.
The worst Bluetooth speaker, this thing is so hard to use. I have hard time connect it as Bluetooth speaker, should be this hard to use.

Wow, this man spends enough time in his bathroom to keep two Sonos speakers in it. LOL. Yikes.

Decision made - thank you for this!
This is not very good compared to the Bose sound link mini
We haven’t reviewed the Bose one yet, but have heard good things. What do you like about the Bose Sound Link Mini over the Sonos?
Try the Bose. A bit better fidelity and form factor.
Do not touch the roam, it’s pointless. Can’t turn it off, it’s constantly on a weird standby mode that drains battery. Sonos pre 2010 had something about them. Now, way behind. Avoid.
You need to.. Press and hold the power button for five seconds to power down. Press once to turn Roam back on.
Not correct! You can set it up to turn off after a period of no use automatically, as well as pressing down the power button . Have you kept the Roam updated?.
Not sure if it’s just me, but I couldn’t get this to work without the Sonos app?? So totally useless as a “Bluetooth speaker” without the app...
You do need the sonos app in order to initially set it up.
I trust nothing about this review.
Just a comment. Android users ARE second-class citizens. You chose this :p
Thank you Josh.
This portable speaker certainly seems Great,
but for me it's just too expensive 🫤.
