      @@6MonthsLatergreat video, have you listened to Atmos music tracks on the Sonos Beam Gen 2? I’m a massive fan on 2 channel music but the beam seems to do a great job with Atmos tracks as a casual listen. Post Malones Austin album, The Weeknds Dawn FM album and Matchbox 20’s yourself or someone like you album are good examples 👍

    @6monthslater excellent review
    I want to buy for my Parents leaving room some Sonos products
    They mainly listen to classical music and have a sound system in a separate room with some old school klipsh speakers and subwoofer.
    Should I go for the Era 100 or the move 2 ?
    I imagine era 300 is out of the question since Spotify does not support atmos.
    Thank you so much

    Good review - you are right about Sonos treating Android users badly. As an Android user with a large library of high resolution recordings I need Chromecast or the ability to connect a USB drive. I think I found the perfect solution in the new JBL Authentics 200 or 300.

    After watching the video, I still don't get it as why not good to use it as a PC speaker. Era 100 does have bluetooth and so far I'm using Megaboom3 as my PC speaker and it's perfectly fine. So why when it comes to SONOS bluetooth speaker, it becomes NOT good and brings another new story? Then you said cutouts happens to wireless connected Era 100, if so can't hard-wired connection solve it for all? Can't imagine a hard-wired speaker can still be bothered by whatsoever.
    Or do you mean in those 2 scenarios above, problem only exists when using 2 Era 100s in stereo mode, if only using a single ERA 100, no problem at all? (Hope at leaset this is the case so that I can eventually use ONE Era 100 as my PC speaker. So so so want to replace my Megaboom 3 with a better sounding and looking speaker and I don't seem to find another better choice.)

    Good review.... I actually use my Sonos Era 100 on my desk, but only for music. My laptop speakers are fine for my workflow, I just want the best sound for music on my desk and I landed on this speaker. But I am a bit disappointed in the bass and will probably try getting another one to be able to put each on the far end of a large desk. I am wondering though if this will not be enough, and if I will still need a sub. Does having a second speaker "feel" more weighty and add more bass, anyone using them on a desk? I would rather go back to larger speakers, but milady has only approved these. Indeed, it does look great, and another one would probably pass. But adding a sub will start to get very expensive.

    • @jrojom
      @jrojom 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I recently purchased a pair, set it as stereo and they sound great, very wide and detailed. Bass is very good also, of course not as well as a subwoofer, but when you mix a pair of Era 100, they have significant power. In my opinion, for music in your desk, a pair should be enough if you want more bass. For a living room, like for a home theater setting, I think that's when a subwoofer would be necessary. Cheers!

    • @paulinquebec
      @paulinquebec 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@jrojom thanks I did go ahead and buy the second one even before reading your comment. And I totally agree it’s plenty for my needs. I can go out in the hall and listen to them and then compare them to what’s coming out of another room that has Google Home Max in it. And the ERA speakers have way better base and take up way more space. So I’m very happy with the solution.

    I’m torn between the Era 100 and the Google Nest Audio. I’d also consider a stereo pair of Nest Audios. Any opinion on Era 100 vs Nest Audio vs Nest Audio stereo pair? What’s the best value for money if my main use case is playing music over Spotify connect?

    • @6MonthsLater
      @6MonthsLater  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Era 100s imo. If you're going to spend money on external speakers and you're mainly going to use them with Spotify Connect, I'd do the Era 100s even if they are a bit more expensive. My Era 100s actually replaced the Nest Audios I had in my setup and I'm never going back after hearing the difference in sound quality. - Josh

    You know what? As an Android user, I kind of feel personally discriminated against when it comes to these apps since I know the majority of these apps are made for iOS and then port it over to Android. So even Twitter has more options for iOS than Android, so I'm not exactly surprised It's almost like companies are punishing Android users for not switching over to the iPhone Even though personally, I don't really like Siri as an AI assistant. I prefer either Google assist or Alexa

    • @dexterie

      What I’ve heard is that it is just much simpler to programe for iOS than android because android has way too many formats, os versions, etc
      If that is true, I don’t know. But I can understand that iOS is more “flat” and coherent between devices.

    • @witext
      @witext 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@dexterieas someone who has dabbled in programming, it’s not that it’s easier to program for android. It IS harder to optimise for android since there are so many versions and phones with different hardware.
      Apple however do have a lot of tools for making apps for iPhones and easy ways to port apps from iOS to Android. So for developers, developing iOS apps is just a much more neat and tidy experience.
      Apple is just very developer friendly in general so that’s why so many make apps for iOS first and android later.
      In this case however, with the advanced tuning thing, it’s due to hardware. For the tuning to work, they need to optimise for the mic the phone has, and there are WAY too many different android phones to optimise for them all so they just end up not optimising for any androids.
