    Hi Clara, I've yet to try eggs in my A/F but I've hit on a novel way with poached eggs. I use greased microwave mini steam pudding containers, just like your non stick moulds, no faffing about with spirit vinegar swirling in water, load the egg into the greased mould, drop it into rolling boiling water for required time and I get a perfect result every time. It's saved me buying silicone moulds. Job done. Cheers DougT

    • @CandidClara
      @CandidClara  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      But do you eat them with Marmite toast? That is the important question!

    • @douglasthompson296
      @douglasthompson296 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If that question was to me indy1205 then it's not an exact science 🤔 I just get the pan to a rolling boil (not a furious boil), drop the heatable plastic mini mould into the pan. I seem to find 4+- minutes sufficient, just keep testing with a knife tip, see the yolks firmly in the steaming white and if it doesn't separate then it's done. 😎😁 Buttered toasted seeded batch (Warburton's for me) slices and a mug of Yorkshire Tea and that's my breakfast sorted 👍 It's easier doing it the old school way rather than faffing about timing my A/F Cheers DougT

    I've just started to do boiled eggs in my air fryer, i've found for a soft boiled egg it takes 7 minutes on 200 and it's perfect. I have a cosori dual blaze so when i do a fried egg i take the crisper out and put some oil in the bottom and crack an egg in for 3 minutes on 180 and it's perfect, the top is the same as if you had used a frying pan. My last air fryer had a basket instead of a crisper plate so i had to do them in a tin. They never turned out right. What i like about the cosori dual blaze it's so easy to clean, especially compared to having to clean a gas hob, grids, splash back and extract fan as i can't stand a dirty cooker hob. It's a no brainer really. Thank for the work you put into it

    I own a small business with a small lunch area. Space is at a premium..we live in Canada. I work with my son and a hot breakfast is helpful to get the day going. One thing he loves…I preheat the Cosori for 3 minutes put 3 strips of bacon cut in half..I keep homeade bagels in the freezer..grab one of those and scramble an egg with salt and pepper in a tiny cake pan..all at 385 for 4 minutes make it into a sandwich with some butter and he loves it.

    I have just cooked a poached egg to perfection using this method. Although, I have the AF300 model and a square tin will not fit inside, but I did use the metal pudding dish. I placed the pudding dish into the air fryer using the tongs from my halogen oven and removed the same way. However, on trying to drain the water using a slotted spoon, gravity got the better of me and the egg fell into the sink. It was fine and I still ate it. I will use a foil dish next time to help me get it out safely.

    The difference between the one cooked in the pudding basin and the one in the silicon bowl was probably because the pudding basin would get hot but the silicon bowl would not so no heat transfer.

    It just happens that I had a little egg-periment (HAHA) myself too! I wanted to find ways to have nice breakfast without much work, because I rather not eat anything if I need to do stuff for it in the morning.
    I used ramekins too, thinking that it would give me a much more even result and, and it does. For the base egg mixture I used Helen Rennie's recipe, If someone reads my comment the day I post it it's in her latest video as well. She uses milk and flour, but for a different reason I won't get into. I used it because straight eggs stick like glue and blows up in your face and eggs can get quite hot, but this mixture won't. 135 °C in my air fryer, with 4 very specific ramekins from Tesco, for 20 minutes. Leave them cool in the air fryer if you can. (but open it up right away, because they puff up beautiful, you need to see it!) my basket is 20*20 or 22*22 I can't remember. Non-stick. 3 egg, egg poacher, water level determines soft medium hard, would not attempt using an Air Blower. I have a 20cm frying pan. It cooks my eggs perfectly either fried,scrambled,omelette in less than 3 minutes. Why would you use an air fryer. Boiling water works well for boiled eggs and poached.in 3 minutes. I bought my air fryer toaster oven because it had a spit roast function and basically I have found that is all I use it for. Same with the microwave I only use it for heating my milk for coffee from my nespresso machine. Nothing beats a conventional oven and hob. Unless of course you live off ready meals full of junk.
