I bought the EC9s for my wife in 2019 but she couldn’t rack the slide. So it ended up becoming my pocket pistol. First thing I did was remove the mag disconnect safety so I could throw away the orange plastic dummy mag. Then I put some red nail polish on the front sight ramp for these tired old eyes. Then I bought a DeSantis N38 V5 pocket holster. It’s not my favorite gun to shoot but it’s definitely my favorite gun to carry. It’s lightweight, compact, and being a single stack it doesn’t print much in the pocket. On the bike I generally slip the pistol into my boot when riding and then transfer it to my pocket when I get off the bike.
The s EC9s is definitely an underappreciated gun. Point in fact, just about any single stack, 9 mm , 380, or 45, don't get the credit they deserve from the larger youtube channels. I guess they don't have a large enough magazine or are tactical enough for them.
I thought I was the only one that still uses the LC9. It’s for the same reason, the long double action trigger. I pocket carry around the house and feel assured that it’s safe. It’s like having a flat revolver, it’s in a category of its own.
You are definitely not alone. I venture To bet that if we looked around a little harder, we might find there's more out there than just us. Ruger made a lot of these guns, and it's really hard to find one on the used market. So I imagine people are hanging on to these little gems.
