Magnificent. Two classic revolvers, I love the marks of time. Congratulations on the weapons and thanks for sharing them with us.
Hey bud I did got interested in the show because you taught history I like it 🤣
I bought the EC9s for my wife in 2019 but she couldn’t rack the slide. So it ended up becoming my pocket pistol. First thing I did was remove the mag disconnect safety so I could throw away the orange plastic dummy mag. Then I put some red nail polish on the front sight ramp for these tired old eyes. Then I bought a DeSantis N38 V5 pocket holster. It’s not my favorite gun to shoot but it’s definitely my favorite gun to carry. It’s lightweight, compact, and being a single stack it doesn’t print much in the pocket. On the bike I generally slip the pistol into my boot when riding and then transfer it to my pocket when I get off the bike.
The s EC9s is definitely an underappreciated gun. Point in fact, just about any single stack, 9 mm , 380, or 45, don't get the credit they deserve from the larger youtube channels. I guess they don't have a large enough magazine or are tactical enough for them.
My EDC……for yrs.
Wonderful, congratulations on your achievement. God bless you. 🙏🏻🇧🇷🤝🇺🇲
thank you!
I love this
@@Gypsy-skully You deserve it, congratulations 🤝
Boy, I know what you mean. Left-handed, I've burned my arm and face.I tried to wear a face shield, but it was too aggravating. I have a cva 54 cal I bought back in the early 80s
The struggle is real.
I’m with you Bro. My last HD I traded for a 67 Ford T-Bird in 1973. My first ever Bike was a 69 Sportster in 1971 which got stolen 6 mo. later. Then I bought a Fat Bob in 72 then traded up to building a chopper. It was always peer pressure to own HDs. I hated them. Always vibrating, leaking oil, out of tune and just plain uncomfortable. Then in 76 I went to a Japanese bike. A KZ1000. What a pleasure that was with a windjammer fairing. I put 30K miles on that before I had to trade it in for a car due to finances. Been Jap bikes ever since. Had a KZ175 for the Desert for a while. Now have a Rebel and thinking of doing a Transalp 750 next spring, if I can survive another winter in the PNW. “Live to ride, ride to live”!
I have a cva Missouri rifle, it needs a sear and sear spring. i would like to convert it to flint lock
Converting a missouri rifle is relatively easy. Removing the percussion drum and replacing it with a vent liner is all that is needed for the barrel. Finding a lock to fit the mortis might be a little bit of a problem.
@@Skullyandgypsy3145 it was a gift, the sear and spring are missing. Wanted to see how it shot before spending much on it. I have a GP cap lock rifle, thought a flint lock would be nice to have
Rmcoxyoke.com carries repair parts for investarms, lyman, TC, and traditon locks. I find the traditon locks are very close in design to CVA.
Good couple 💑
Thank you for the kind words

This is possibly the most ignorant comment ever.
It's good to see you out riding with all of your friends 😂
The people I ride with do not wish to be on video or on the internet.
You sound like an old fuckin parrot 🦜 repeating the same old shit that want-to-bee bikers have been sniveling about for close to 60 years. Any AMF models are now bringing twice their orig MSRP - Not so much for your Suzuki Anal Intruder.
First, call someone out as a want to be biker. Just just shows how ignorant you are. Point of fact, your entire comment showcases you have a Masters degree in ignorance. Secondly, I buy motorcycles to ride, not as an investment. Finally, why would anyone who rides dole out There hard earn cash on some clapped out AMF Harley when they could buy a metric bike. That's much newer, has fewer miles, and cost less than half.
@@Skullyandgypsy3145 You will never know ! 😂

Then you are a lucky man because that's about the extent of our arguments lol
Keep keeping it real
That's what we try to do.
I've had many bikes from metric crusers to race replicas. I now race a Triumph Daytona and road a HD. And to be honest, the HD has NOT been a good overall experience. If dealership let me ride it first, i wouldn't have bought it. I still feel the same today.
Sad to say it's not just some Harley. Dealerships that act like that. I was at a metric dealership. They wouldn't even pull the bike out far enough for me to sit on it. Let alone take it for a test drive.
@@Skullyandgypsy3145 Wow thats not good. In north america mtorcycle sale across all builders are down. The entire dealership model needs to become much more customer focused.

I think I sort of understand what you're trying to say that the Lyman/invest arms are good And the Petersoli something is not good. Is there some way you can translate that into english.
'Been riding for 56 yrs. Still riding but not on a Harley any longer. Today i'm on a Yamaha V Star Silverado. Absolutely love it. Same feel as my old 52 Panhead with a little less vibration. I've owned Panheads including radical choppers as well as Shovelhead dressers. Also several XLCH Sportsters. A few British bikes like BSA & Triumph thrown in for good measure. Even a Royal Enfield 500 thumper. I'm old enough to remember that if you wanted a new Harley you had to get it before May of each model yr or they ran out of bikes. It was a very big deal to see a Harley of any type on the road back in the 1960's. Man how things have changed. Harley sold out to the money people as far as i'm concerned. I'm also in NW Pa & suffer from missing riding in Winter as well. Great commentary here & thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I would have to say you have maybe 3 or 4 more riding years under your belt, then I do. So I also understand what it was like back then. Be well, be safe, and maybe we will see each other on the road someday.
@@Skullyandgypsy3145 I'm way up near Erie.
@martinrice9190 I'm just south of you in clarion county
Harley died when they sold to AMF & began mass production.
I rode ‘em when I was younger loved them memories brings back a smile riding a Harley. They were like having sex but over rated you never know what kind of ride she going to give you or how long it’s going to last
That is an absolutely freaking, awesome analogy.
I am a retired Truck driver, Have 5 bikes and ride in anything but snow and black ice. Hardly drive any of my trucks. Use the big bagger for shopping.
I'm the same way with one exception. The cold just hits me harder now than it used to.
What does the 2-wheel fleet consist of?
Clearly, you know nothing about the history of Harley Davidson. Had they NOT sold to AMF, they would have gone bankrupt and vanished. Not that someone like you would care. I'd advise you to avoid Milwaukee with your attitude.
Thank you for proving my point. Harley screwed up and almost went under, and AMF almost finished them off. Then they took back control, made some changes, and made a dam good bike. And as far as my attitude, we have a HD plant here in Pennsylvania. We'll at least till they ship that off to China.
AMF continued to make the bikes like you bought using HD's antiquated tooling. At the same time AMF was bringing in modern CNC equipment, modernizing the plant and started the development of the EVO., which in turn saved the brand. So AMF wasn't a 'mistake' it was a necessity. I'm with m.f.m on this one. I get triggered when people badmout AMF, knowing they saved the company
@martincvitkovich724 Yes, I know all about A MF trying to update harley's production process. All said and done this is where it stands.Harley was bordering on Irrelevance And bankruptcy. Selling out to AMF did little to nothing to help that reputation. Only after the Davidson family took back control did the reputation and product improve. Harley davidson is now one of the premier touring bikes, and this was the point of my video. Harley davidson priced itself well outside the range of the average throttle jockey.
No one cares. What part of no one cares do you not understand?
Apparently, you do otherwise you wouldn't have said anything.
@@Skullyandgypsy3145 you needed to know, so you can put your stupid away.

@leeinwis cool . I miss my DR650. I had back in the 90s, not quite an adventure bike but I did have some good adventures on it.
I hear about some people having issues but I’ve owned 5 different Harley’s since the 90’s and put about 6k A year of riding in and own 2 now and not one of them gave me any real problems just standard maintenance. I wire them up for battery tenders and when I’m not riding it’s hooked to a tender and batteries last for 3-4 years. Just saying
I was referring to bikes made during the AMF years being junk. From 85 and on Harley made some great bikes. I just think Harley made bad decisions in marketing and designs that move them away from their base.
@@Skullyandgypsy3145 understood, I’ve owned a few Japanese bikes when I was younger didn’t buy a Harley until late 90’s. I’ve heard some of the new 24’s are having a few issues & horror stories of the AMF years. Thanks for the content👍
It's not that I disagree,if it makes you happy it's right for you. wouldn't recommend a Harley to anyone. I'm on my third Harley since 1988. Currently a TC88 FXDL made 10/98. I do all my own work, the Internet makes finding parts easier and more competitive. Started with a new 883 in 1988 but the tank range didn't work out. 1995 evo FXDL had for 8 years and traded it when the lifers got noisy at 25k. So far I've lost an indicator lens screw someone else didn't do up properly and a seat screw I didn't do up properly.
I have had old Sportys too 74 and 75....never heard of Loctite?
Man I used tube after tube of that stuff and the best I can say is it just took a little longer to rattle apart.
@@Skullyandgypsy3145 Well....I once had a 56 BSA that was even worse....it probably needed to have every bolt and nut safety wired.....fortunately it threw a rod first!
Glad your happy..more Harleys for me.

ordered a Purple Road King in 2000 [hundred dollars down which girlfriend paid] got it April 2002, $16,000. still riding 130,000 all original except for the tensioners, installed gear drive at 74,000. It's slow by everyone's standard but mine lol, it just runs so good. i do all maintenance except for internals, otherwise I wouldn't be able to own it. Not sure how long it will go I'm 66, hope the bike goes longer than me, cause I ain't done yet. owned a few bikes before the HD. Yamaha's,Triumph, I was riding a goldwing before the Harley, kinda miss the wing for the radio, no vibration, smooth as silk ride and the shaft drive. however that 22 year old bike and me have bonded i believe.
I didn't think Harley made a bad bike. I just think they make bad decisions. Waiting 2 years for your bike tells me you have huge patience.
I had one of those I built from a kit many years ago in 40 cal. also had a "mule ear" I bought from Dixie Gun Works in 45 cal. Both were lots of fun to shoot.
I use to have 36cal mule ear and i wish I still had it.
Flat black Ruger EC9S is my EDC .( going to add black and white American flag vinyl to slide)I only use oem magazines (bought 2 extra from ebay) critical defense lite 100gr ammo. Less recoil, better accuracy, very reliable ,no mods as none were necessary perfect for me out the box! Ps when out of ammo slide stays back.its a feature
A lot of TH-cam channels don't give the E C9 the credit it deserves. Thanks for the comment it adds to my point that you don't have to go ultra tactical for personal defense.
The S&W 642 is much better quality, you can tell when holding in the hand.
Absolutely. The Taurus may be a good gun. But the Smith and Wesson is hands down. The better of the two.
You ok your out of breath looking at your bloated stomach and your complection you look like you are not doing well brother
I have a pretty messed up form of arthritis which tends to make the simplest tasks quite challenging. It makes it hard to keep the weight off when you can barely move some days.
Good evening from Brazil. The simplicity that you convey in your video is very cool, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
It's good to hear from you again, and thank you for the compliment. I find life can get complicated all on its own. So, I tend to gravitate towards the simpler ways of doing things.
Had one of these in 36 cal back on '60. Got rid of it because I'd get a face full of hot powder that would be deflected upwards each time I shot it.
@TomasG42 The early Hopkins and rifles did not come with a flash guard like you see on the one in the video. I can't remember where I got that flashcard. My other Hopkins and Allen rifle doesn't have it.But the stock on the gun keeps it from spraying upwards. But yes , it does spit all over the place otherwise.
Dude. Your wife. What a nag. I bet she embarrasses you on the regular. Get a phone holder. Find her something to watch on TV. Probably "the view" she probably loves that nag fest.
Some other resources to look for are Advanced Muzzle Loader's Guide by Toby Bridges and way back, Muzzloader Magazine had a series called The Book of Buckskinning by William Scurlock. I think there were 7 books in the series.
All great resources. Thank you
I have the PT111 Mellinium G2 for 9 years now several thousands of rounds with no hicups or repairs. So far so good knock on wood. I've dropped it over the years I've wore the finish of ones but can't complain.
I know Taurus as a whole Has had its issues over the years. But I find that most people that have either the g2 or g3 series firearms have had fairly positive views .
I’ve owned a Taurus 605 for years. Absolutely reliable. The finish isn’t as nice as more expensive guns, but it goes bang every time. The trigger is ok. I like the heavier weight while shooting. I thought of buying a lightweight .38, but I keep going back to how I like the weight for recoil management.
The Smith and Wesson's 642 that I carry is the kind of gun you carry more than you actually shoot it. I totally agree with you.The added weight of the 605 goes a long way to taming recoil.
I truly enjoy wheel guns
Have you ever tried 50%dawn soap 50%water? I haven't yet, but I have heard it works great.
I never tried a fifty-fifty mix of dawn dishwashing detergent. But I did try a 2 to1 mix Of water and dawn , and it worked quite well. Although it left a kind of sticky goo in the breach after ten rounds. I did notice a slight. Drop in the point of impact after 10 rounds. I have tried a number of concoctions over the years and finally settled on a mixture of 2 parts automotive windshield washer's solvent and one part Murphy's oil soap. I found that the washer solvent would evaporate quickly in a warm barrel, leaving the oil soap as a lubricant.
Great stuff! I love flintlocks!
Yeah, me too. Out of 8 long guns, 5 of them are flintlocks.
Its a left hander , is this why you had it custom made ?
Yeah, pretty much. It's hard to find a mass-produced forty caliber long rifle, let alone one that is left-handed. The same goes for my 62 cal Jaeger rifle that you see in my other video.

Taurus has zero quality control. Their fanboys make excuses for them but, in reality, it's just a bad company making bad guns.
When buying a Taurus firearm, you are taking a gamble. For example, between my wife and I, we have had 4 taurus firearms. One that was so bad it was dangerous(the pt22 ) One that is completely unreliable ( the 856 Aluminum frame), And 2 that were excellent ( the 605 and GC3). So the best score I can give Taurus is fifty fifty.
