    Ive just ordered these Mega5EST limited Edition. Having now seen the clear shell version, I wish they were sending that even though I really like the look of the Ltd but id love to be able to see the internals.

    Nice review. Hope they make a warmer/more bass version of these, similar to the Doscinco signature. I do think that the driver makeup is the classic ideal set up as of now.

    Hey, you really cover interesting IEM's, very cool! Is the Hisenior Mega5EST (what a name!) close to the BGVP Phantom in terms of imaging and layering?

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! Id say the phantom has better imaging but not by too much, also has better layering. The phantoms's stage is also far larger. To be fair though, there is quite a large price difference, I also prefer the signature of the mega5est 🙂

    I’m actually considering these two iem’s. How would you compare the treble to the dte500? I know you are a big fan of its treble presentation, from that review.

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I think both do treble very well but the dte500's treble is more refined and detailed but less prominent in the track. The mega5est's treble is a little bit less resolving but a lot more prominent in the track. The mega5est is also more energetic in the treble which can be fatiguing if you are extremely sensitive but I don't find either to be very fatiguing. 🙂

      @@PraisedAudio thanks for getting back to me. With the mest mk2 being discounted I’m leaning towards that, but the Mega5est is still on my radar.

    If we're talking price. For the price of either one of those 2. You can get 3 of the super awesome discontinued AKG N5005 from Harman. They go for only $159 and blow these 2 away in sound quality or at the very least match them. They use to be $1000 IEM.
    Get them while they last. You'll never need another pair of IEM after.

    Thanks for the review! How do they compare to QoA Margarita?

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Id say the margarita is a little bit wider and less energetic that the 5est. Imo Bass and mids are better on the 5est. I like the treble equally on both but the 5est is more energetic in the treble while the margarita is a little bit toned down and controlled. Mids are more forward on the 5est. So are the vocals. Imaging is better on the 5est by a very small margin.
      Overall I think the mega5est is the better buy, but if you don't want energetic sound and you want something a little bit more relaxed(but still has some energy when the track calls for it), the margarita is still a great buy.
      This is by memory, not AB testing, since I did not have them at the same time sadly. So please take these opinions with a grain of salt. Either way I like them both quite a lot, I hope this helps. 🙂

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For the DTE500 I'd say the treble is quite a bit better on the dte500 the mids are around the same maybe better detail on the dte500 but better note weight on the mega5est, the vocals and mids are touched back a lot more though on the dte500. The bass is also FAR worse on the dte500. Bass was unbearable for me, extremely low quality and is the most emphasized part of the set. I would take the mega5est over the dte500 in a heartbeat. 🙂

    Hi Praised Audio , l understand this set can be bright , what about the texture and body of note weight quality , l like the high quality sound from the Aful P8 , sounds grand to me , would this be an upgrade set from P8 or side grade do you think , Thank You and really good review Cheers.

      Thank you! I think this would make a great upgrade from the Aful performer 8. It actually has a similar signature but with a little bit more bass presence. Note weight is thicker on the Mega5est and the bass has more texture as well. 🙂

    Hey, recently found your channeo and thought your opinion could be helpful! im currently sitting between these and the scarlet mini
    I mainly listen to hip hop, old school and underground/alt rap, but I also listen to a lot of jazz and rnb and some indie too.
    My dilema is a powerful bass is obviously very beneficial for hip hop, but at the same time I have never specifically called myself a basehead nor do a listen to any edm either, so I love bass but would not want to sacrifice resolution and detail for it
    How do you think the 5est compares to scarlet mini
    or maybe are there any other sets you would recommend in this price bracket?

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hello! I sadly haven't heard the scarlet mini so I can't give a good opinion on that 😕. The Mega5est does rap well but I don't think it will have as much bass as you are looking for and I think the sa6mk2 would be the better option in your case. Another set in the price range I feel would may work well for you is the penon 10th edition. 🙂

    • @rappersorbee
      @rappersorbee 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@PraisedAudio have not checked the penon out before so thank you for the rec, I was def considering the mega5est the most so hearing its bass isn't sufficient is unfortunate. what about jazz or RNB tho, how would you say the 5est performs in those genres? I heard the 5est is very sensitive to tip rolling so maybe the bass and tonality could be improved with velvet tips or something?
      man do I wish this hobby wasn't so complicated haha, if I had more money Id just get a basehead iem plus a more resolving detail beast as a secondary, and so I guess thats why I'm really attracted to the mega and other "jack of all trades" iems that could do well for both bassy and also detail dependant genres. thanks for the recommendation tho ill be checking both out, if you have any more thoughts related to iems that do hip hop and also have crazy detail lmk, your reviews are some of the most descriptive I've found!

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you! Sadly I don't listen to any jazz or RNB so I can't really comment well on that, but for hip hop and bass heavy music the Penon 10th is great, not only for bass heavy genres either, it's a pretty good all rounder imo, with the downside being soundstage. I do cover that all in my review of the Penon 10th Edition. 🙂

    • @rappersorbee
      @rappersorbee 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@PraisedAudio After your recommendation I spent some time reading and watching reviews about the penon, very convincing, tho you say in your review that instruments don't really sound natural which is the only thing that worries me, especially since most of the hip hop I listen to is sample-based with jazz and soul chops aside from also actually listening to jazz so there is a lot more instruments in my library than a lot of the synth-based more modern hip hop would have, I could even link you a couple of songs so you could recommend it more accurately since genres can be so different than just saying "rap" or "rock" with how the sounds can vary within but I dont wanna take up too much of your time haha
      thank you for sharing your thoughts I appriciate it, Ill keep considering and reading but the penon is now at the top of the list (EDIT: how do you compare penon 10th vs mega 5 est?)

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I'd say the penon is a much more colored sound while the Mega5est is a bit more accurate. The Mega5est has more detail and is more energetic but is more fatiguing while the Penon has a more prominent bass response, and more forward mids and is warmer sounding. The Mega5est has a wider stage though. Both are great options I think if you want a main difference is that with the Mega5est you are getting a more accurate and detailed response with a wider stage, while with the Penon you are getting a more punchy forward bass and mids with a overall more intimate and colored sound signature. 🙂

      I have heard the ie600, but I honestly wasn't the biggest fan of it, I didn't dislike it but I found it underwhelming and not very engaging. I prefer the mega5est a lot more subjectively. I also think the Mega5est is a lot better technicality wise as well. 🙂

    Have you heard Thieaudio Monarch Mk2, if so how do these compare?

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I have heard the monarch mk2, but not for a extended period of time so please take my comparison with a grain of salt. From memory, the mk2 was less bright and less fatiguing but had less detail in the treble. The mids were about the same on both, maybe slightly better on the monarch mk2. I preferred the bass on the mk2 in terms of quantity(more bass on the mk2) but in terms of quality I believe they are pretty close. Imaging was better on the monarch mk2, stage was approximately the same width but there was slightly better depth on the mk2. Overall I prefer the monarch mk2 but the mega5est is actually very close and a better value imo, also if you enjoy brighter leaning sets and want a better treble I think the Mega5est is the better iem. I found the monarch mk2 to be less bright than the Mega5est.
      I do want to reiterate though, that it has been a while since I have heard the mk2 and I am basing this off of memory so please take this comparison with a grain of salt. 🙂
